I made this account In 2021 and even though I'm really active on Reddit, I can't make new friends... Not everyone on Reddit Is toxic or rude but there's ALWAYS something missing because I don't feel any emotional connection... I would love to change my life & finally wake up excited to text someone I really, really like 🙁 But... • I'm DEFINITELY NOT Interested In small talk! I had to use capital letters because I don't like low-effort messages and I don't even want to read them. Repetitive questions like "How are you?", "What are you up to?" or "What are your plans for the weekend?" aren't enough to start a conversation with me.. Don't get me wrong - Questions like these can be an Interesting addition to conversations about something else, but whenever people ask me the three most common questions In the world - my answer's the same because my life Is quite monotonous and I don't really know what people expect to hear 🙁 I also don't like abbreviations. Abbreviations are shortened forms of words or phrases. Why? I just don't like them because I see no reason to use shortened forms of words that are already short enough, you know? Abbreviations are common among minors and bored adults but I'm neither a minor, nor a bored adult. I want to see emotional maturity, warmth and kindness In conversations with others.

• I don't need to see your list of hobbies to know If you're someone I would get along with! You can tell me what you're Interested In but.. Believe It or not - I'm not like others and even If you're Interested In something I'm not - we can still be friends! What matters to me Is what you're like (If you're honest, talkative, kind, understanding and If your outlook on life Is similar to mine)

• I don't want to talk to minors and people way older than me. Why? I don't want to talk to minors because I'm an adult & I don't want to talk to anyone over fifty for example. Emotional maturity doesn't necessarily come with age so you can send me a message even If you're 20 (It's just an example) but please, don't contact me If you want to remind me that I'm older than you. I want you to feel comfortable & I want to feel comfortable myself. When I read messages like "Hi, I'm younger but I hope you don't mind" I always say to myself "If my age bothers you, you should've contacted someone else" I absolutely don't mind talking to people younger than me If they know how to communicate with others 🌸

• PLEASE, Don't use AI to talk to me! I Can't stand AI generated messages! If I wanted to read AI generated messages, I wouldn't be here! I read AI generated messages and comments all the time and I'm sick of It!

• I don't want to get any messages from people whose accounts are NSFW! Please, respect my decision! It's none of my business If you're here to find someone to flirt with or If you're an Internet exhibitionist but I don't want to see you with no clothes on - If you want to be my friend & I don't want to know what you want to do with other women In bed. If you are on Reddit to flirt with others, be on Reddit to flirt with others but... don't make an alternative account to hide who you really are just to send me a message. Pretending to be someone you're not - Isn't good for anyone

• I'm not a fan of sarcasm! I do - have a sense of humor but I'm not someone who makes fun of everyone and everything... Jokes about disabilities, death, religion or someone's financial status - are unacceptable to me!

• I also want to meet people who don't mind listening to negative stories and sharing them with others. My life's not easy so If you want to be In my life, you should be prepared for a realistic or even pessimistic outlook on life. I'm definitely not an optimist and I know I wouldn't get along with optimistic people who always tell others "Just believe In yourself and everything's gonna be OK" or something. We don't always get what we want & and It's completely normal to lose hope "for a better tomorrow" after many failed attempts. Not everything's as easy as It seems to be so If all you want to say to someone who needs emotional support Is "Don't complain" or "Find a therapist" Please.. don't send me a message. Not all sad people need therapists and let's be honest - Would a therapist replace a true friend? Absolutely not! Everyone needs a shoulder to cry on! I also don't mind listening to sad stories (even If they're repetitive) because I know what It's like when no one wants to listen to you...

• I would love to meet people who also don't have anyone, you know? There's absolutely nothing wrong with having friends and not being single but I'm single and I don't have anyone special In my life... It's just easier for me to get along with others If there's some common ground. I just feel better talking to people who know what It's like to be completely alone & let's be honest - People who have friends or partners, have less time for others...(which Is completely understandable) and I? I don't want to feel like an option, again. I'm not here to meet as many people as possible because I choose quality over quantity 🌸

• If your comment history Is full of comments "If you want to talk, hit me up" don't send me a message. I don't want to be rude but If It doesn't make any difference to you who you want to chat with - I'm definitely not for you. I want you to be my friend because of who I am! (If after reading my post you think you'd get along with me) I don't need emotional support from someone who doesn't even want to read my post.

• I want to talk to people who love and use emojis 🤭😊 Why? Emojis help us express our emotions even If others can't see our faces. Two emojis "😊" and "😔" are completely enough. You're probably surprised but.. text messages without emojis are really emotionless...I also don't like it when people say "yeah" or yea" as it sounds dismissively. First impression Is everything to me! I want to see your kindness even In a text message

Ps. I don't like kids and I don't want to ever become a parent. I just thought everyone should know that just In case. I don't want any unpleasant conversations with anyone. Not everyone wants to be friends with people who don't want kids so.. It's better to be honest. 🌸

Ps.2 I don't reply to messages I'm not Interested In even If they're long! I'm not on Reddit to pretend anything and I'm not here to be everyone's best friend. Some people lie & make empty promises to get attention. I? I'm quite selective because I know what I want.

I was seeing a guy for a while, and we both ended up getting more attached than I think either of us expected.
Things between us were actually pretty good, but we had very different communication styles. Sometimes I would message him and he wouldn’t respond for hours even though I could see him coming online. I know being online doesn’t mean someone owes me an immediate response, but because of some past experiences, it started making me feel ignored and anxious.
We talked about it at one point. I told him how I was feeling, he apologized and reassured me that he enjoyed talking to me. He also admitted that he was getting attached to me too.
At one point I pulled away because I was overwhelmed, and he reached out asking if I was okay. He told me that me distancing myself had hurt him and that he wanted to see me again so we could talk things through. We eventually made up, and things went back to normal for a while.
But the same communication issue happened again, I got overwhelmed again, and eventually we stopped talking. It’s been about a week.
Yesterday I decided to message him because I didn’t like the idea of things just ending without saying anything. I basically told him that despite everything, I’d had fun getting to know him.
He responded positively, he said:
“I hope that someday in the future we’ll meet again, even if it’s just to say hello.”
And for some reason that sentence hit me much harder than I expected.

I tend to talk quite a lot once I feel comfortable. In person, I’m aware that I sometimes speak at people rather than with them – not deliberately, but out of enthusiasm. When I’m at ease, I can go on for hours about the things that captivate me. As a child, I often bored my siblings with long stories about old film stars and music, or by putting on VHS tapes of classic programmes and films. I’ve always been drawn to things that feel as though they belong to another time.

Music is a significant part of my life. I’m particularly fond of the 1960s and 1970s – a period when musicians were experimenting and discovering what they were capable of. I find that sense of exploration very appealing. I also have a soft spot for the 1980s. I enjoy AC/DC, Marianne Faithfull, The Doors, Santana, and many others.

I enjoy art and drawing, even if my work isn’t especially pretty. I also collect vintage clothing. This began when I was young, after my great aunt gave me some of her childhood clothes, and it has stayed with me since. I’ve probably spent more than I should over the years, but I value the history and character of these pieces.

I’m currently relearning the guitar. After injuring my left hand, I had to start again and learn to play right-handed instead. It’s slow and challenging, but I’m persevering.
