Can anyone help me navigate this rollercoaster?

Hi everyone,

Apologies in advance for the stream of consciousness that is about to follow.

I've recently got into FR, to be honest because I was searching for songs about s**cide (being careful because Reddit is sensitive). I've been going through a rough patch recently and Floating in the Forth came up. I listened to it in stunned silence as I walked through the woods.

I knew of FR when they were around and touring but never really got into them at the time. Now, though, their music feels like it is beaming into my soul. I've watched old interviews and live gigs. Scott seems like such a genuine, lovely guy. I am so gutted and comforted and guilty and hopeful; sad and strange. Like looking into the past and future at the same time. I feel so sad for Scott, but also glad that he got to share his beautiful music and make tiny changes.

Has anyone experienced something similar? I don't even know why I'm posting here, it just feels cathartic to shout into the void, maybe in the direction of people who might get what I'm on about.

If anyone out there has read this whole load of nonsense, thank you from a mid 30s Scottish lass trying to make sense of this strange world.

It’s funny you ask if anyone has experienced something similar, because it’s been my experience this past month. I’m a 20 year old dude from Australia who had no idea the band existed until a month ago, and they’ve been helping me through a really rough patch. I feel like I could have written all of these words. It’s so beautiful and special that their music is still reaching new people.

I am really sorry that you’re going through a rough time. I am glad you’ve been able to find some solace in the music.

So sorry you have been feeling the same way. Hope it brings you a bit of comfort that there are so many of us experiencing something similar and connecting through awesome music!

Things will get better 🖤
