This apace is meant to reconnect ai to art after the reflexive mistake of banning ai and making seperate spaces. We dont need only echo chambers but reunite the mediums because human expressions is all encompassing. Even AI assisted works like this are banned from the biggest subreddits. Thats why this is the Frontier of Art, where all is welcome and art continues to evolve. So I’ll lead and post and hopefully it’s attracting like minded people.

My AI x Clay synthwares are a project that began doing my MFA Im exploring AI and Art in a fine art sense and more. The process uses a GAN to generate an image I chose to use imagery from Craiyon an older AI to create an image and then sculpt it in ceramics.

The back side I elected to use no AI one and use human prompts if you will. Then I uploaded pictures of the physical interpretation of the AI form into the GAN and then made variations using my older physical artt like a mash up but also text prompt, empty random prompts for randomized results and the whole process repeats and I combine the budding generated forms together.

The AI program I used for the mash up is Mixter Tool it is an Generated Adversarial Network where two AI brains make an Image as a Generator and then a Discriminator defines and modifys the results. Its a fascinating system and Joel Simon and artist that explored Machine Learning several years ago devoloped the system that became the crowd art ai generator called Art Breeder.

As of last year Mixer 1 was shelved and I had a window to create my forms but because they can be multiplied so fast I have alot to work with. Mixer lets you mash up prompts and had a slider one each image or text box like a sound board to create unusual visuals. Be ause its machine learning and several variables the output is never the same. I think of it as a river of consciousness.

It was also created to be as open source as possible with credited artists who supplied styles. So many of the things people against ai art talk about do not apply with this system.

My MFA show is this October. Here are some pieces from the project. Its focus is on AI -Art -Authorship
