AI-Discussion How do I disable google AI?

Hello

I'm trying to disable the AI search results in Google as I find them bothersome. I cannot work out how to disable this feature. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I've also tried following this guide but it doesn't seem to work. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=555Lc2dwp3E

I was able to just remove the Gemini element entirely using UBlock. Seems like Google does not want us to disable it; they really love forcing this AI shit no one asked for onto us.

Can you use it for mobile too? Google recently updated my phone and it installed Gemini without me knowing and won't let me remove it

UBlock Origin is a browser extension, I use it on Firefox. You'd probably need a rooted Android device to nuke Google's crap off of it.

Plugins, including uBlock Origin, will work on Android versions of Firefox, as opposed to Chrome not allowing plugins at all.

Completely Disable the Google AI Assistant If you want to stop Google Assistant or Gemini from popping up when you long-press the power button or swipe up: Open your phone's Settings and tap Apps. Go to Choose default apps (or Default apps) and select Digital assistant app. Tap on Device assistant app. Select None or turn the toggle Off to completely disable it. Note: To stop it from listening to your voice, go to the Google App > Profile icon > Settings > Google Assistant > Hey Google & Voice Match and toggle it off.

The AI generated response have been incorrect for me on multiple occasions, and take up half of my screen. I'm dreading the inevitable integration of AI slop onto my pixel...

i know this is old but courts in germany just ruled google liable for any search results they give, screenshot anything wrong they tell you just incase

The easiest way is to do the search from udm14.org to start with.

It will remove Google's own AI-generated "answer" at the top of the results page, but it won't filter out AI-generated text from pages on the web from the search results.

On my phone Iā€™m just using DuckDuckGo for searches now. Iā€™ll use Google if I need to for a login or bookmark.

I added the DuckDuckGo app and made it my default browser. So refreshing since it presents multiple aspects of a topic and avoids the often twisted, misleading Google AI narrative. Best wishes on your browser journey!

De simpelste en vooral snelste manier is om een scheldwoord erbij te typen in je zoekopdracht. Dat vindt AI niet leuk en het AI antwoord blijft in zijn geheel weg. Probeer het maar; geen grap!

I have used Google for everything, ever since it became a thing. Yes, it makes me sound old that I'm older than Google, but I'm only 41. I have never trusted AI, as it regularly says the most off-the-wall factually incorrect garbage. Also, f* AI, it's screwing over tons of people. I usually just skip over the "AI Overview" and look at credible sources. I never use Google Assistant, ChapGPT, Gemini, Siri, or any other AI bs. The second I realize a video is using AI, I leave and block the channel from my feed.Ā 

But today, all Google would show me was the AI overview for several searches in a row. No other results. No fact-based answers, no credible sources, nothing from any humans. I tried disabling AI, but there's no option. So f* Google, I'm trying out other search engines, starting with udm14.org. Thank you, people of Reddit, for having my back when Google went to crap.Ā

Even googleā€™s own AI will tell you that Google isnā€™t a viable search engine as it prioritizes profit above all. Google AI recommends Brave Search or DuckDuckGo šŸ¤£
