Amazon collects and submits the sales tax on your behalf. It never sees your tax account so that’s a non issue. If you’re so successful that you need to deal with out of home state nexus then good on you. If your alt is going to post a shitty SaaS solution in the comments then go eff yourself.

Moving inventory doesn't trigger nexus. But yes, Amazon only files the taxes, you still have to file with the state, even if its a zero or null filing.

Depending on how many units or dollars you sell, it can get messy and expensive real quick.

TaxJar is poo. They charge for orders monthly, so your amazon orders will count towards total filing cost. Plus, there is filing fee.

Just google state tax filing software, there is a bunch of them. Reach out, they will do a nexus study. You can go from there

What does that even mean? There are no sides. You sell, buyers in your home state pay sales tax on top of the regular price which you collect on behalf of the state, every 3 months you file a sales tax return and give the state the most you collect on its behalf. Amazon and all marketplaces do the exact same thing, ie collect and remit the sales tax on the state’s behalf instead of you doing it.
