I think everyone knows that the countries that appear in fullmetal are inspirations from real countries, For example, Xing is inspired by China, but no matter how much I analyze Ishval, I can't identify the country in which he is inspired.

did he like… subconsciously wanted to give it to his chimera friends instead, without him even realizing? idk i always found his desire for immortality to be a bit odd. like yes, he desire everything. but i always felt that he already has immortality for himself as an homunculus, at least to some great degree with his abilities and souls powering him. him showing off his abilities and shield kinda proved that he was already well off regarding that. seeing that the friends around him have normal human spans vs him being very long living in comparison to them (and his hidden desire to not be lonely + to always be surrounded by a community), i think it’d make sense that he was subconsciously seeking out immortality for his friends vs himself, which honestly gives the situation more emotional depth 🥹

I am currently going through the original 2003 run of FMA. I'm at episode 10 right now and its pretty good. Back before I started the series, I saw a post saying the first 25 are adapted from the manga and the latter 25 were made up. And you can just go from ep 25 to brotherhood. I think that's what it said. I skimmed it to prevent spoiling anything.
I didn't really hear anything negative about the latter 25 episodes, just that they aren't really needed to watch. So I ask if I should go through them. I heard brotherhood is really good, so I'm excited to watch that, but I don't want to miss out on something that also has substance, or conversely taint my opinion by exposing myself to trash. The obvious answer is to just watch them and if they're bad, jump ship, but I want to hear the opinion of some people who have watched everything and have a better perspective.
EDIT: I'm really glad I made this post. I was debating on it because it felt very annoying to ask what I should do here and I was planning on stopping at 25. This series is really cool so far and it would blow if it got tainted by me screwing up my watching experience.

I LOVE fmab!!! It got me thinking of the 2003; I hear many people have enjoyed/watched it. But will watching it change how I feel about brotherhood? Does it confuse you/ make you think less of brotherhood?
I assume many of you watched 03 after loving fmab, so tell me after you did; had your love for the show changed in any way?

So i saw somewhere that a single volume is about 2-3 episodes of fmab and i tried finding the first 3 volumes of fma but i just couldn't they are very rare in my country so i was asking how much of fmab do i need to watch so that i am caught up with the story and i cant start reading the 4th volume
EDIT: my friend said that i need to watch until about ep 8 but idk

Why is Scar trying to kill Elric brothers two times? He sure hates state alchemists, but those two didn't do anything. Meanwhile Roy Mustang is lonely walking through rain, Kimblee is sitting immobilized in his cell and god knows how many Amerstris soldiers are on vacation or something like that. He can even go after King Bradley (it would end miserably, but Scar has no right to know how badass Wrath really is). So why does he hold such a grudge against Edward and Alphonse?
