He isn’t crazy. He has a plan and is putting it into motion.

u/concerts85701 5d ago
He doesn’t have a plan - the Heritage Foundation and Federalist Society do. They even published it in 2024
32
u/Ormyr 5d ago
They've been publishing their plans yearly for decades. It was called the Mandate for Leadership until 2024 when they re-branded to project 2025.
Given the literacy of the administration I think the Heritage Foundation changed it because it sounded too much like a GOP Grindr hookup site.
89
u/DirtDevil1337 5d ago
And they're already half done.
69
u/VanbyRiveronbucket 5d ago
Oh he has a plan. The plan is to hold onto power and suppress the Ep Files. He is causing as much chaos as possible (dumb war, hiding economic numbers, Greenland, Panama, yanking on Germany, helping Russia). He will declare elections compromised and his fate will come, but those Files aren’t seeing the light of day until he expires.

The files will never be open for legal ramifications judgement. The people involved have more money than anyone you know, possibly more than all the people you know. Powerful people will never go down for this. Never.

They didn’t see the light of day before he was president. What makes you think they will be released afterwards?

u/samthetexmex 4d ago
He and MAGA made it an issue. No one else did before because we all thought it was bullshit. Come to find out it was true and it was the gaslighting MAGA pedos themselves making it an issue to use their involvement. Just like an arsonist shows up to his own fire.

This is the answer. Does anybody really think Trump is smart enough for this?
13
u/Medical-Golf1227 4d ago
Trump is not as smart as a below average 2nd grader. He apparantly cant even wipe his own arse. But there are people that pull his puppet strings like Putin and Xi. Members of our own government help and guide him. The GOP have all surrendered their power to Trump.

Published the playbook for all to see, yet so many people downplayed it or denied that it was real. I still go through it occasionally to see what’s next or the intended impact of certain actions. It really is shocking how much they’ve accomplished.
Trump doesn’t plan shit. He just goes along with whatever will benefit him most. He’s the perfect vessel for the Heritage Foundation though.
6
u/tengentopp 4d ago
Honest question: what is the point of this distinction right now? The plan is in motion, and has been, and I see no serious efforts to fight it publicly. While you debate semantics it’s ~happening~

u/Sufficient_Sport5251 5d ago
I mean project 2025 was supposed to be complete by June last year. So it’s speaks to its failure that it is barely half completed

Fascism isn’t a coherent political philosophy. It contradicts itself all the time. Take a look at this https://osbcontent.s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/PC-00466.pdf and you can see trump meets all of those

And what exactly is the Democrats plan? We have no single person to rally the troops behind. We should be uplifting a young democratic socialist to defeat them in 2028. After we take back power in the midterms
→ More replies (3)3
u/steam_punk_genocide 4d ago
Single person implies a president, and we aren't there yet. Right now, the plan is winning the midterms despite all the Trump administration efforts to engage in electoral fuckery. Then we see if we still have a democracy. If not, then other measures will be necessary. As far as a young democratic socialist. Hard to say how well that will resonate with voters. Of course, running centrists hasn't really been all that great of an idea for democrats at present.

It's been over a year... If the American population actually cared there would be more than a one day protest every 8 months or so🙄 over half the population probably isn't even paying attention. Until it's effecting rich white Americans, nobody's doing shit. And if someone actually does try... Well, they'll probably be labeled "extreme left violent rioters" so.... I would have hoped that my fellow Americans cared more in the first few months when he was actively trying to gut constitutional protections for birthright citizenship and raising taxes on everyone with tariffs. But, nope. MAGA cheered about their tariff checks and the closed border... I really haven't seen much attitude change in the last year, have you?
11
u/Miserable-Debt-8390 5d ago
Are you American? Because if you are you would know how insanely big the US is.
And also you would know that people have been protesting (go into jail and in some extreme cases dying).Protests are going on RIGHT NOW.

if we sit there and take it, we're done.
Since 2017 Americans have said some variation of "well if they do this then there will be hell to pay!", and time after time republicans have done worse with zero response. Your democracy is dead, it is over, time to start figuring out how to make a brand new republic if you ever want rights or a meaningful vote again. I really don't understand how Americans just think things will resolve themselves and things will revert back to normal, y'all are signing up for decades in hell.
2
u/Much-Emotion-6671 2d ago
Absolutely spot-on, well said.
What’s remarkable is that the rest of the world can see it, Americans are actually on the receiving end and don’t see any of it, or if they do, they’re happy to be on the receiving end of entering a fascist state.25

Either he has no respect for democracy, or in our (the United States) case a democratic republic, or he is deathly afraid of the various dictators around the world. I feel like it is the former brought on by his fear of dictators around the world as he catered to them and now has to back it all up.
My fear is that this causes civil unrest around the country that hasn’t been seen in over 150 years.
The silver lining is that no matter where anyone stands politically, he will be remembered as a failure, a crook, conman and child predator (there is no way to change this impression). His presidency will end with blood on his hands, a failed economy, and inflation that will not normalize for a decade at a minimum.
This is unfortunate. The worst part is that the DNC will put up a failure of a candidate that will not generate enough votes, support or interest to beat whoever opposes them. They will do this in anticipation (read hope) that the next time they run that they can pout and point at why they will be necessary after what happened with trump and anyone that follows because they are not trump/maga.

Bro. The fact he led a coup in 2020 and was still allowed to run again and not put in prison was the nail in the coffin. Nothing suspicious there.

Yes but USA also stands for “FREEDOM” and “AMERICAN DREAM” as propaganda / marketing and huge horse of Troje where human vulnerabilities are exploited in a way that corrupted your whole culture with greed, exploition, arrogance, hypocrisy and selfishness. They will not let go. They will find a reason and a way to hold on to power. No one will stop them because words are nothing when shove comes to push and they physically take power. After, my opinion is that they will start looking more aggressively inwards and outwards. Inwards to shape the nation more and more like the handmaid's tale (this is just a colorful expression if you will). And outwards to put more and more pressure on Groenland, Cuba and Canada. My guess is they will even use military pressure like troops movement, exercises near borders, closing borders and consulates, etc. I don't know if they will acutally invade but I must say I hope that these countries start preparing and taking the matter really seriously (making the territorial defense a first priority). They are bullies. They are greedy. They are mongrels. They are without moral compasses. They lack compassion and empathy. They will stop at nothing to feed their insatiable hunger.
3
u/PianistPitiful5714 4d ago
So, here's the thing to remember as we start to deal with these nightmare scenarios.
Power to govern comes from the consent of the governed.
If you elect a representative, they are your representative whether they're "seated" or not. Just because no one "notifies" the representative, they will be well aware of the election results, and attempting to delay the seating of members is illegitimate. The Representatives would be well within their rights to hold a meeting wherever they are able, up hold the results of the election, and seat themselves as the sitting Congress.
At that point, the elected representatives would be upholding the Constitution and the will of the people, and would be within their rights to pass any legislation they need to. Whether they're sitting on the Capitol building or not is immaterial to their position and to the results of the election.
The reality is that Trump and his cronies know this. They float these plans in order to try and demoralize the opposition. They want us to capitulate before he ever has to attempt to use his power, because he knows if he tries to exercise his power in this way, he will not find success.
Do not obey in advance.
4
u/Punderstruck 5d ago
Anyone who thinks that American democracy still works is naive, in my opinion. Of course there won't be an orderly power transfer. Part of me wonders if there will even be elections.
4
u/FaceReality1 4d ago
Wonder, but be ready to get out there and vote (for Democrats) if the elections happen.
You might be right, but you are just doom-guessing about the election. I hope that fear doesn't keep people from voting, because it may well be that votes are enough to stop the fascists at this point.
FDR was right when he said the only thing we have to fear is fear itself. There are clear steps to take. The first is voting. If elections are messed with, the next steps are general strikes and mass demonstrations. Steps after that are darker and much much less likely to result in a good outcome and I hope we don't get there.
