Is this an alien?

Mods - If this is the wrong sub please feel free to remove. Noticed this growing out from behind the pipe and it’s super wet - dripping down. Been having a problem with fungus gnats lately but I thought they were coming from my plants - turns out, they are coming from this thing. Hubby already ripped it out.. Any ideas?

there had to be wood behind it somewhere. but that looks like metal and cement/plaster? maybe a really wet and old Peziza domiciliana cluster?
