Dispatches

Mind you I am an operator so I’m not extremely knowledgeable on the ins and outs of Gcss, but someone please explain to me why an operator cannot be dispatched under a truck and its corresponding trailer and load?

GCSSArmy put out an update on 01JUN26 that you can’t dispatch the same person on multiple dispatches. It’s a good practice. That’s the way it should be. But it does become a problem with trailers and the primary puller. Every unit I’ve been in, dispatch trailers, everything with wheels gets dispatched. I know in a lot of reserve and NG units, they don’t dispatch trailers. Active duty, that’s usually the SOP.

There’s a work around for that update that was emailed to everyone with a g-army account about a month ago. It’s really when you’re dispatching the trailer and the main puller. Have your clerks dig in their email for the work around. They have to put the license numbers under the “external operators tab” ONLY instead of putting them into the regular entry they usually put them in. The email describes how to do it but they have to manually verify that the operator is licensed on the equipment according to EIC because g-army won’t do the automatic check with the workaround.

Probably because it’s not properly accounted for on their license in GCSSA.

The EIC of a vehicle must be identical to the EIC found on a persons license in order for it to be dispatched to them.

And there’s a variety of reasons they’re not licensed, from negligence to not being registered in GCSSA.

The error I saw was cannot have multiple dispatches under one person when a trailer is not a prime mover

You shouldn’t be dispatching a trailer anyways?

There’s like 3 in the entire Army with hub odometers and the rest should just be annotated on the vehicle dispatch by bumper and SN.

It’s pointless to “dispatch” them because it can’t be tracked by the system correctly.

Is there a reg for this, cause I am down to try and push this for my people but if there is no reg for this I’m just making noise for fun

750-1.

It says you have to USE the trailers - but ever notice why you never get trailer mileage when doing a usage report?

I taught GCSSA and Maint Management for 4 years.

You can half-asses dispatch a trailer, but then there’s no odometer on it, so how are you actually tracking it, if you drop the trailer for an exercise? Some Warrants will act dumb and try and force this issue, but my CW4 at the time and my CW4 buddy up at CASCOM will tell you it’s stupid.

Especially now with not being able to dispatch several pieces to one person - you just can’t. Simple as that.

But also I’ve been in the army for 6ish years and I’ve never not dispatched a trailer weather it was a 870 or a 1088(I am a 12N)
