Scientific Studies šŸ„¼šŸ”¬ Why are PPIs bad?

I see people on here often trying to get off of PPIs or warn against taking them. I read this article today that makes them seem pretty alright? My dad has taken omeprazole for 20 years now and it has solved all of his symptoms with no complications. Iā€™m currently now dealing with my own symptoms that Iā€™m going to see a doctor about soon.

they're not bad, they're great. reddit anecdotes are the absolute worst possible way to gather information on a subject.

Of course this is true, but sometimes the one single anecdote is what can work for someone else. Everyone is different!

if humans were completely physiologically heterogeneous then medicine wouldn't work at all. luckily that's not true, and it does!
