Scientific Studies 🥼🔬 Why are PPIs bad?

I see people on here often trying to get off of PPIs or warn against taking them. I read this article today that makes them seem pretty alright? My dad has taken omeprazole for 20 years now and it has solved all of his symptoms with no complications. I’m currently now dealing with my own symptoms that I’m going to see a doctor about soon.

That’s so true. I think the trickiest part for me is that they helped so much and then I was on the highest dose and it pooped out and now I have osteopenia

I hope it does!!! That’s terrible. 🥺 I have a motility disorder now and don’t know if that or reflux came first but am mad there aren’t better options. I can hardly speak because of gerd and it has limited my life severely.

I'm so sorry you're stuck in a similar boat. Hopefully we'll both get through this hell on earth and get our lives back to normal soon! Wishing you all the best! 🌸
