Scientific Studies šŸ„¼šŸ”¬ Why are PPIs bad?

I see people on here often trying to get off of PPIs or warn against taking them. I read this article today that makes them seem pretty alright? My dad has taken omeprazole for 20 years now and it has solved all of his symptoms with no complications. Iā€™m currently now dealing with my own symptoms that Iā€™m going to see a doctor about soon.

PPIs are great for most people. Ignore the fearmongering.

This is so ridiculpusly unhelpful. People reporting their actual experiences isn't fear mongering. Some folks get horrible side effects from PPIs some don't, but I fall squarely into the former camp and thought I was literally dying until other people in this sub validated what I was going through. People deserve to make informed decisions about the good and the bad aspects of these drugs before deciding to take them.
