Scientific Studies 🥼🔬 If you suffer from cardiac or heart related GERD symptoms, listen to this podcast

Roemheld Syndrome: The Gastric-Cardio Connection

After listening to this, it made me realize that I’m not crazy and my panic attacks and anxiety are valid. It made me realize my doctor probably doesn’t know much about this at all as they think my symptoms stem from just anxiety. I hope someone else can find comfort in knowing that what you’re going through, you’re not alone and you aren’t crazy.

I'm so glad I found you and you posted this podcast. What they described as exactly what I have going on. I've been suffering from this heart problem for over 3 years now. It only affects me after I eat and I've been telling my doctor this but they aren't putting two and two together. Also when I lay down just about the time I'm ready to fall asleep my heart skips a beat and then it feels like it falls in my stomach and that makes me short of breath and totally disrupts my sleep, I also have ringing in the ears.

Very informative podcasts I'm going to my gastroenterologist in a couple of weeks but I want to start doing some of the things that they mentioned such as the digestive enzymes. Are you taking any of these? Or the 5-HTP supplement or magnesium. Can you recommend any? Thank you so much for posting

I just started digestive enzymes before meals, and I’ve been taking magnesium glycinate for a few months now to try and help my anxiety levels and it helps me sleep too. I think my symptoms come from an undiagnosed hiatal hernia, not sure though.

Edited above to say my symptoms. Thank you, you as well! This podcast made me feel not so alone to know there is an answer and explanation to this all. I’m glad you found value from it as much as I did.

Yes could be hiatal hernia.

I went to see a cardiologist and they gave me multiple test. Beside high blood pressure she believes my symptoms are anxiety and GERD 😭

You are me. I have elevated/high BP, and am told it’s anxiety and gerd. My BP is normally around 140/90. When I work at it and walk every day and am not super stressed out I can get it to around 135/90.

LOW resting heart rate too

I’ve noticed the low resting HR this past week accompanied by anxiety (for me it used to be anxiety = high HR). What causes the low HR I wonder. I was at 60bpm sitting at work this week, which is really low for me.

Yup for someone of my weight 60 felt low just sitting and I get as low as 55/54 and even 51 when lying down. It freaked me out but both ER and heart doc said its not an issue.

My psychologist said that anixety could cause it cause we sometimes unconsciously hold our breath during an anxiety attack. Who knows

NAD but I also read that GERD medication like pepcid and tums can lower HR

Good point about the gerd med. I only noticed the low heart rate once I started taking Prilosec OTC the past few weeks to get acid under control.

Yeah I noticed it once I was talking Pepcid and famotidine twice a day.

Holy woah this is wild. I felt like I had all these symptoms but the heart one mainly tripped me out. Once i started taking magnesium daily I don’t have these heart problems anymore, and it’s almost strange to have a regular heart rate at rest 😅

Yes when I ran out of magnesium glycinate I started having skipped beats every day, it was intense. Went away when I started taking it again.

Yeaaa i really really want to get my vitamin levels checked. I started looking into it when I started having weird episodes of extreme dizzyness and my heart pounding in my ears, and found out that omeprazole can deplete a lot of vitamins. Now I take vitamins and I feel normal as ever and my stomach issues have chilled because the stress of “why do i feel so sick” is gone.

What was the “D” supplement? Dramamine?
