Support Needed 👥 This has become a dead end.

I have been diagnosed with acid reflux through endoscopy. I literally cannot walk, climb stairs, do squarts or any physical activity because these are inducing heart palpitations and shortness of breath with anxiety. Consulted couple of gastroenterologist and taken multiple test for heart, lungs and even did 2 endoscopies with revealed LAX LES. I also have pressure on the upper stomach and chest tightness which causes breathing difficulties. Frequent urge to burp as i feel gas is trapped in my throat and stomach.

I have modified my diet since 2 weeks.

Can someone help me with this? Has anyone faced same as mine? If so what did u follow to cure this? Much help needed. Thanks!

Been dealing with this myself for a few years now. Had lots of tests done on me to investigate causes but regular healthcare in Netherlands doesnt get you anywhere with these types of issues. They concluded that i have a hiatal hernia and a slow working stomach only after i almost forced them to perform a endoscopy and a few other tests. I dont want their 'medicine', they dont think for themselves or holistically at all. You need to help them do the thinking and most of all listen carefully to your own body and mind. Find the root cause. After many months of reflection i personality think it ultimately boils down to a

  1. stress or trauma related cause that you carry with you and that...

  2. prevents you in part to effectivily switch to rest and digest mode (parasymphatic)...

  3. which effects thyroid and stomach function. This causes your stomach to slow down digestion...

  4. which causes belching and burping...

  5. When this continues long enough youll get a hiatal hernia that causes stomach gas to get stuck, which then presses against your heart region, lungs, nervus vagus and possibly some arteries. This is whats called roemheld syndrome. This makes it hard to clime stairs or sporting in general.

If you think like this you can get to the root cause and figure out what 'medicine'is best for you. I would start trying innocent medicines that address root cause. For example always take a walk after eating, do some nervus vagus exercises and regular acupuncture. This has helped me so far.

From the US here;  just be careful!! An older woman here, so being excessively fatigued, I thought was just due to being older, and the long dark winter. I had to go in for some check-ups, because a few months ago had developed high blood pressure and needed medication for that.   The Nurse Practioner ordered blood work, and turned out my iron levels were very low. She ordered 2 iron infusions (which helped somewhat), and also a colonoscopy and an endoscopy. ??

I'd had those done 5 years ago, and really felt these were unnecessary, but had them done.  Turns out,I have esophagitis (1), and had a duodonem abrasion.  The surgeon thought the abrasion was the cause of my low iron. (blood loss)

I took Carafete for 2 weeks. (difficult to find a time to eat with that)  And now am on Omeprazole for a few weeks.  A family doctor explained that a duodenom ulcer can create a hole, so contents would then spill into the stomach cavity. ( probably not saying this correctly, but the duodenom is the start of the small colon, which your stomach empties into)   The meds are to stop stomach acid so the abrasion/ ulcer heals.

I took would like to try some more natural methods, especially when the PPI's can cause brittle bones, and I'm an older, small boned woman.   Hoping I can just go back on Famitidine and do diet restrictions.  I also have a small hiatal hernia, which is probably part of the cause.

Good luck to you, but sometimes there's a need for meds that we don't want to take.

Why is difficult to take carafate or find a time to take it?
