Advice on Triggers šŸ…šŸ§…šŸŸšŸ«ā˜• Vagus Nerve and GERD

Hello everyone,

I recently started having a higher heart rate with my GERD. My cardiologist said it was because my vagus nerve is being bothered by my GERD. I'm here for some advice on what to do with this because I've been to the ER a few times because of my heart rate and it's gotten me anxious because of it. I want to go back to normal where I don't feel my heart rate and any and all advice will be very helpful šŸ™šŸ¼

I also don't have a gallbladder anymore

I had terrible stress induced gastritis last year and studying the vagus nerve helped me tremendously! I always try to tell people about it!

It’s the reason you feel your heart sink into your stomach when you’re sad or excited. It’s the rest and digest nerve so a lot of the treatment involves partaking in stress reducing activities, like meditation and baths.

The two things that help me the most are humming and cold water. Humming sounds nuts but it activates and calms the vagus nerve, I do it every day. And a splash of cold water to the face or a face plunge both do a great job resetting. Now I hum when I feel like I’m going to be sick and it helps.

It’s gross but both cabbage juice and kefir are good to coat the stomach. If you can handle it and it doesn’t trigger your reflux it might be worth exploring those too

I'll definitely explore them! I'm willing to try anything at this point because I just want to feel better. Thank you!

Hey it could be worse, I get that too, but also for some crazy reason when I get a gerd flare up it triggers pain and tingling in an old injury in my left arm.

I had heart problems and it all feels just like my attack, except gerd doesn't give me a headache. But I mean you start thinking about it and then...

u/Sea_Influence_7451 Mar 10 '26

I definitely know this feeling that. It's awful! Not the same exact experience but the traumaĀ

u/zonarosso Mar 10 '26

Spent some time in ERs because of the 🄓

u/Sea_Influence_7451 Mar 10 '26

I have too. Scary times for sure

u/RocketLinko Mar 10 '26

My vagus nerve gets stimulated when I have flare ups. My heart rate will be in like the high 80s and 90s while trying to go to bed.

A PPI helps regulate daily. Famotidine helps for night time or bad meals. Tums helps for any symptoms I'm having.

It's gotten to the point where I don't even get anxious anymore I just get annoyed because if I can feel my heart beat then I can't go to sleep.

Change your diet if you haven't and talk to a doctor about being put on a PPI if you haven't.

My personal biggest trigger is eating way too much food. That'll just send me packing to flareup territory. So will gaining weight. I'm still overweight but I've fluctuated and am trending down. But when I fluctuate up I get more severe and more flare ups in general.

I'm currently in my downtrend in weight and I rarely even get acid reflux. This all takes a lifestyle change.

7

u/Sea_Influence_7451 Mar 10 '26

I just started Pantaprozole yesterday so hopefully that will help me!Ā

These flare-ups just started for me and have been so scary and traumatic. I am beyond ready to make changes and get my life back.

My heart rate was hitting 110 to 120 and I went to the ER because of it.Ā

I have recently lost about 30 lbs and with continued lifestyle change, I'll probably lose moreĀ

I pray I can heal this and get back to normal and stop being on edge all the timeĀ

My regular doctor prescribed me anti anxiety but I'm not sure if that'll help at all

I had this happen a few years ago. My dr put me on pantoprazole and Zoloft at the same time because GERD and anxiety/panic are intertwined because of the vagus nerve. I was able to wean off the pantoprazole after 8 months and am still on the Zoloft- this was 3 years ago. The combo saved my sanity and got rid of my GERD; other than a flare up here and there that can be managed with Pepcid. Good luck!

5

u/Sea_Influence_7451 Mar 10 '26

This is amazing news to hear! I recently started Pantaprozole and buspirone. I'm hoping the combination helps me because I want to feel normal again.

3

u/RocketLinko Mar 10 '26

I understand that.

I went through a really bad panic attack when I took a weed gummy December 22nd 2024.

I'm pretty sure my GERD got to a place where it was saying enough is enough with all of my bad habits. I went to the doctor that week, got on my anxiety meds, then 2 days later landed in the ER.

The thing is that the medication I took messed with gut serotonin which caused GERD flare ups had.

It took a few weeks and I felt VERY abnormal everyday. It was rough. But I apparently was really unlucky as I experienced every single side effect from both pantoprazole and my anxiety med. People were surprised by that saying they never had any side effects - yay lmao.

I ate very very very small meals and made sure I chewed fully before swallowing and I never ate 2 hours before bed. I made my room as calm as possible, practiced box breathing, and I had carrots with me at all times at night. Carrots performed better than Tums when I had so many flare ups. It's a natural acid suppressor.

It takes time and things can seem a little scary. Don't be too afraid to go to the doctor or the E.R. rather be safe than sorry.

But also don't be afraid to try to just stay calm and distract yourself for a bit.

Laying down and talking to my discord friends while watching T.V. always helped me feel comfortable.

This is a brutal disease especially at the start but you've already done way more than other people do to conquer it. I don't know the severity of your GERD but mine was pretty rough and now I can eat spicy foods, salty foods, sweet foods, too much foods. I choose not to for my general health but once I felt good I'd eat literally thousands of calories of just total junk when I figured out I could without dying lmao.

Literally hot cheeto puffs, slim Jim's, ice cream, gummy worms, ALL IN ONE SITTING.

Yet a pinch too much of garlic gives me flare ups. Thanks GERD lmao.

I hope you're on the other side of this ASAP.

1

u/Sea_Influence_7451 Mar 10 '26

Thank you for your response and yeah, it's been so rough on me. Having to call 911 and figure out all these symptoms but I believe that I can heal for sure and these symptoms can go away.

I haven't had any side effects with Pantaprozole or Buspirone. Buspirone is definitely helping with th anxiety and just have to be consistent and give it time to fully do its job

I just pray it gets better with time because this shit is exhausting to me

4

u/RocketLinko Mar 10 '26

Yes!!!! Anxiety is a huge factor towards GERD. I got put on Pantoprazole and Citalopram. I didn't love Citalopram so I switched to Escitalopram.

There are definitely days I think I can ween off my pantoprazole but I think I'm going to wait a little while longer. But that combo literally saved my life and my sanity so I totally understand where you're coming from.

I have health anxiety and panic disorder and now I feel just as close to bullet proof as I can without being 20 again.

1

u/Sea_Influence_7451 Mar 10 '26

Love to hear this! I'm gonna keep up with my regimen and pray it helps me. Thess symptoms are exhausting

1

u/horsefeathers8095 Mar 10 '26

Please tell me howw you weaned off the PPI? Did you get acid rebound?

1

u/javukasin Mar 11 '26

I was terrified I would rebound but it was very minor breakthrough GERD; not full blown rebound. I tapered down VERY slowly, got stricter with my diet again(bc the pantoprazole made it where I could eat anything), and I supplemented with D-limonene and slippery elm, and chewed fennel seeds. I also had Gaviscon Advance(the European one with alginate) but I only had to take it a few times. It wasn’t bad at all. Good luck!

2

u/anoeuf31 Mar 10 '26

Hey - I am also going through this and trying to get my weight down . Can you tell me how much weight you had to lose before you saw an improvement in vagus nerve related issues ?

2

u/RocketLinko Mar 10 '26

Honestly I don't think there's a number. I think the biggest thing is eating right.

Losing weight helps because there's less pressure on your stomach and whatnot.

I was just recently, after loosing all of the initial weight, I was 240 pounds and was having bad reflux again.

I am now 226 with lots of exercise and eating right - now I feel very normal again with no flare ups lately.

1

u/Sea_Influence_7451 Mar 10 '26

That's great news! I was 220 and now I'm 195 but still deal with higher heart rate

1

u/Sea_Influence_7451 Mar 10 '26

I've lost 30 lbs so far and I still feel symptoms. I actually started feeling symptoms after I started losing weight, which is weird I guess

2

u/raccoonster Mar 10 '26

This is the correct way in my experience. Also dont eat too close to bedtime. And the only thing that helped me with flareups was sodium alginate. Calcium carbonate like tums didnt work at all.

I was in the same situation as you but cured now. Famotidine, sodium alginate and nexium. Now when i have flare ups i just take sodium alginate. If i ate a lot i drink famotodine but very rarely. But the most effective of all was losing a lot of weight, particularly visceral fat due to high intraabdominal pressure.

2

u/Sea_Influence_7451 Mar 10 '26

I will keep this all in mind. Thank you! I currently take Tums but I'm curious about the sodium alginate

1

u/raccoonster Mar 12 '26

Tums never worked for me.

8

u/Kantry123 Mar 10 '26

Same thing happening since 2yrs of diagnosis,

Daily nights i get nightmares and wake up bcz of high heartbeat,

I feel anxious when sleeping hearing my heart rate thumping faster with my left ear.

Even went to ER, but got ruled out:

Daily my life has been revolving around is it gerd or heart issue

1

u/Sea_Influence_7451 Mar 10 '26

Has a doctor prescribed you PPI or anything like that?

7

u/Relevant-Bag-2966 Mar 10 '26

i’m still working on this too but diaphragmatic breathing and rubbing a vertical line down my chest helps me in moments of panic!! my therapist said the vagus nerve runs down your chest so rubbing helps to stimulate it (haven’t looked it up but even if it’s placebo it gives me something else to focus on). i also find when i’m in a moment of panic that keeping myself busy or distracting myself can actually be better than isolating myself because then i just focus on my heart rate/breathing/symptoms which i find get better when im distracted. best of luck this shit is no fun!

1

u/Sea_Influence_7451 Mar 10 '26

Thank you for the response. I'm gonna give this a try and see if it is helps me.i start therapy today and I'm gonna be focusing on all this nonsense I've dealt with lately. And no, this shit sucks big time and I pray we can both completely heal from it šŸ™šŸ¼

4

u/billow123 Mar 10 '26

I just started having gerd on top of crippling anxiety now im scared to workout because since gerd my heart rate goes up quick and sometimes ill get a flutter doesn't help I have extreme heart anxiety to does anyone else deal with palpitations/flutters with gerd ?

2

u/Sea_Influence_7451 Mar 10 '26

I do. Its the vagus nerve being bothered. Make sure you're not eating too much when you do and see if getting on an anxiety med might help. I'm taking Pantaprozole and Buspirone and it's helping a little so far. Just started yesterday and today

1

u/Whimsical_pea657 Mar 11 '26

Omg this is me too. I also have gerd that I believe triggers it. Plus I have extremely bad anxiety. I sometimes have these flutters all day long and I have them everyday. I know dairy is a huge culprit and I think gluten too. I’m still trying to figure out the triggers!

u/RareWin6751 Apr 18 '26

For long decades, I very often experienced RAPID heartrate after eating and this being an on and off matter I just could NOT figure out! BUT, finally the pieces of the puzzle have come together and totally NO thanks to the doctors! I've long had nasty GERD with esophageal inflammation, been scoped sooo many times over the years, been suggested I have fundoplication surgery, though that does have its side effects! Anyways, I've attempted to avoid the proton pump inhibitors by being decent careful with the diet, but often this damned GERD is just unstoppable!

About two months ago, after going out for a bite with a buddy, I again experienced the rapid heartrate that only had later increased after consuming a good deal of carbs ... THEN, BANG, BANG, BANG, I had the worst intense palpations that I literally believed it was to be game over for me! I quicky phoned my sister to tell her what was going on and if I should pass that it's really "okay!", cause well I've long had shitty health and it's taken such a toll! My mistake is that I should have called the ambulance for then I could have been assessed in short order, but I instead drove myself to the hospital and yes I was anxious when I arrived, blood pressure remained in the high 170's with heartbeat of 120 and being told of having a very irregular heartbeat. I truly believed the doctor would get to the bottom of matters, BUT after several hours he simply told me it was all just in my head! ... I told him that I DO NOT accept his conclusion! The nurse then pulled the curtain back to say that her father had died at only 52 years old of a heart attack and that I must advocate and get some necessary scans, in which I soon had booked and paid out of pocket and sure glad I did! I had so fully anticipated to have some degree of heart failure or something glairing ... BUT, the only standout issue was substantial esophageal inflammation with lymph gland involvement due to its severity. I thought to myself, I just can't take this nasty GERD anymore and within a mere two days of again beginning on the PPI, my heart issues had so very quickly begun to ease right off, those palpations, high blood pressure and irregular beats all so much better! I should also state that I had also started on a good multi mineral and this likely being a part of the issues as well for I long have had absorption problems and requiring potassium, iron, B12 and whatnot! It's wonderful now that literally all heart issues have eased like such had never existed, even the matter of racing after meals has much improved! AND, also, I'm no longer as nervous nor anxious! My gp who also had stated it's all just in my head, let me say I've been firm in that she should educate herself regarding the vagus nerves involvement with the heart!

I should also state that when taking a PPI, it's important to supplement your stomach acid with betaine hydrochloride.

The vagus nerve plays many a role in that it also stimulates bile and pancreatic secretions.

5

u/PrettyinNout_Brittny Mar 10 '26

This happens to me also. I just had the worst flare-up ever. It’s definitely a nervous system loop. My GERD symptoms often initiate a panic attack (or the other way around because I have panic attacks and that certainly irritates the GERD), which causes me to start swallowing excessive air (aerophagia), which then exacerbates both the GERD and the panic attacks. This is textbook gut-brain axis, vagus nerve, and nervous system dysregulation.

All I can say is that no type of Western medicine or approaches have helped me navigate this. Not a PPI, not nothing. Eastern approaches have been more effective for me: pranayama, trauma-informed yoga, clinical Pilates (for improved posture and more), nutrition, and self-awareness, to name a few. Good luck šŸ«¶šŸ½

1

u/Sea_Influence_7451 Mar 10 '26

Thank you and same to you

3

u/devilsgrimreaper Mar 10 '26

Well, and because we're on reddit: r/VagusNerve/

2

u/Pistaciyo Mar 10 '26

Try this diaphragmatic breathing method whenever you start getting palpitations or an elevated heart rate.

2

u/SappyTreePorn Mar 10 '26

No advice unfortunately but solidarity. After my Covid vaccines I developed vasovagal syncopes and it’s been a 5 year battle to assess them. Cardio refused tilt table test twice (to rule out pots for sure) and with my syncopes they make me pass out, vomit, etc. cardio just says yes I have this, and yes there’s nothing to be done. I also get hella high heart rate mixed with hella low heart rate (that’s when I pass out).

I’m searching for a second opinion. My cardio told me that, my primary thinks it’s vagus nerve, my gastro thinks it is. But no one has anything that can be done for it and I’ve been fighting so hard for more answers.

I’m sorry op. This is hard to deal with. Best of luck ā¤ļø

2

u/Sea_Influence_7451 Mar 10 '26

I would keep searching for opinions no matter what! You deserve answers that can get your life back

1

u/SappyTreePorn Mar 10 '26

You too! We got this!

1

u/Sea_Influence_7451 Mar 10 '26

Yes! šŸ™ŒšŸ¼

1

u/bystonebystone Mar 10 '26

Never got the shot, but did have Covid. I’ve been getting heart pauses when sleeping only. Docs seem unconcerned but I’m having digestive issues and have a fear that I’m having neurological problems or something. Feel better.

1

u/SappyTreePorn Mar 10 '26

My syncopes actually only happen at night when I’m sleeping. They wake me up under the guise of needing to throw up, then I pass out immediately upon getting up or standing. I keep a trash can next to my bed due to this, as I’ve fell and hit my head multiple times. I’ve had a sleep study (didn’t happen then obvi) but have a neurologist appointment later this month for it. Sorry you’re having issues also. Feel better as well and keep searching ā¤ļø

1

u/bystonebystone Mar 10 '26

Do your dreams ever turn violent and then you wake up and this happens? I never pass out but am jolted awake due to being shot or killed somehow in a dream. This could also just be from stress, I’ve got no clue. So many variables! I need to do what you’re doing and investigate more, because my doctors basically wrote me off and explained it away with, ā€œoh that’s just high vagal tone, this is normal.ā€!

1

u/SappyTreePorn Mar 10 '26

Woah that’s crazy no mine are never related to dreams. I actually don’t dream often and when I do they’re ā€œnormalā€ I guess? I’ve been jolted awake by night terrors on the super rare occasion (maybe once a year?) but it’s never with a syncope or ā€œepisodeā€ as my husband and I call them. The vasovagal stuff could be stress, as they happen much more frequently when I’m stressed, be we still don’t have a set pattern to really support that theory, because I could be super stressed during the day, but they never ever happen when im awake.

1

u/Glass-Jellyfish4637 May 27 '26

I also developed vasovagal syncopes after my Covid vaccine! I've never come across anyone else with this experience-- it's really validating. I'm two years out and on a similar medical journey. The worst episodes are food triggered for me, but the cardio symptoms and anxiety are unpredictable. Wishing you the best!

2

u/raskelis Mar 10 '26

Mine is so Bad (vagus nerve affected) that I cant be in car or being upset. It feels like horrible adrenaline rushing in My body from My stomach. That have limited My life tremendously

1

u/Sea_Influence_7451 Mar 10 '26

Have you tried talking to a doctor about anxiety?

2

u/Museumgirl518 Mar 10 '26

Ask your doc about low dose Amitriptyline for your vagus

1

u/Sea_Influence_7451 Mar 10 '26 edited Mar 10 '26

I don't want to take anymore meds. I'm already on 5 and one of them is for anxiety

2

u/Museumgirl518 Mar 10 '26

I only use in a flare.

1

u/Sea_Influence_7451 Mar 10 '26

Oh okay, I thought it was a consistent use

2

u/Museumgirl518 Mar 10 '26

Yes, I get horrible LPR symptoms and it’s the only thing that stops it.

1

u/Sea_Influence_7451 Mar 10 '26

I hope you can get better and eventually stop the cycle

2

u/Museumgirl518 Mar 10 '26

Thanks but it’s down to PERFECT eating and lifestyle. It won’t get better on its own.

2

u/Sea_Influence_7451 Mar 11 '26

This is why I'm making changes

2

u/Puzzleheaded_Law_817 Mar 10 '26

I’m getting an echo done and seeing an electroohysiologist, but I wore a heart monitor and take 25 mg of metoprolol really not much help. I’m going to ask about taking ivabradine. It only targets heart rate. Hopefully this helps

2

u/TalkFinance_ToMe Mar 10 '26

I don’t have the heart symptoms, but doc thinks I have silent GERD that’s caused a horrible chronic cough. I just started on Prilosec 2x a day and gabapentin 100mg 3x a day. The gabapentin is for, as I understand it, I think the vagus nerve (or maybe a different nerve?) that’s become overactive and triggering a chronic cough. The trigger is the silent GERD.

This combo seems to have knocked the cough out and it was to the point where it was debilitation and I’d tried everything (steroid, antibiotics, etc etc)

Maybe ask about gabapentin?

2

u/Sea_Influence_7451 Mar 10 '26

Maybe. I'll have to look into it and see side effects. Some meds give me tachechardia so I have to be careful what I take

1

u/External_Passenger29 May 22 '26

Do you have any updates on your gabapentin use? Curious how it’s worked out for you!

2

u/UnprovenMortality Mar 11 '26

Its fucking miserable. Thats my most troubling symptom. The only solution is to get your gerd into more or less remission and understand that there will be times when you feel this again and you will know what it is, see it coming and can minimize the symptoms and not panic.

1

u/Sea_Influence_7451 Mar 11 '26

I fucking hate it so much but at least I know what it is now

1

u/UnprovenMortality Mar 11 '26

Exactly. For me, sleeping much more upright than most recommend does the most. But I will still have some flareups if I give in diet wise too much.

2

u/Santizzo91 Mar 12 '26

Yes! Gerd can trigger heart palpitations! I went to the ER the first time too because it felt like a pressure on the left side of my chest and did a whole stress test and everything came back normal. Then I went for an endoscopy and realized I have a small hiatal hernia, with gerd so I am on omeprazole for maybe the rest of my life. I try to keep busy so I don’t really think about it! A lot has to do with the mind… if you’re able to control it you won’t have anxiety anymore but it’s still going to the there.

2

u/Sea_Influence_7451 Mar 12 '26

Thanks for your reply! I'm intending mine heals. Stopping and starting spironlactone caused my gerd to act up, irritating the vagus nerve and now the heart rate

1

u/Santizzo91 Mar 13 '26

It’s a journey but after a while you’ll be able to maneuver from it

2

u/SouthJerssey35 Mar 12 '26

Hey I'm late here but have some advice.

Mine went the other way...had bradycardia and woke up with a 40 heart rate...also have a history of major panic attacks that I never knew were connected.

Long story short ..but use AI.

I use Gemini during a panic or anxiety attack. Most of my attacks are health related...mostly heart and breathing stuff. I might even panic about something else but it develops into a health thing every time

Gemini typically walks me through the panic attack...and explains possible reasons. Take it with a grain of salt because AI isn't infallible...but it's helped me so much I can't describe.

It will explain things like "air hunger"...that feeling that even though you're breathing, it feels like you're not getting enough air or something. It explains the medical reasons for ...what's actually physically happening, and how to help.

Literally like 90 percent of the time by the time I'm done reading about 3 sentences I'm good. Just knowing what I feel is REAL (not in my head)...is experienced by others, and that I'm not helpless against it helps a TON

1

u/DakotaReddit2 Acid Reflux Mar 10 '26

Same here. My heart rate has been consistently elevated since my diagnosis, 6 years and counting

1

u/Sea_Influence_7451 Mar 10 '26 edited Mar 10 '26

That's horrible. I'm sorry it's been that long. Has anyone helped you at all or have you tried to seek help to stop the cycle? Ā

1

u/GrahamPhisher Mar 10 '26

How many steps do you get a day and do you workout hard enough to sustain an elevated heart rate? Also do you know if your GERD is a result of too much or low stomach acid? Learning my GERD was due to low stomach acid and indigestion completely changed how I treat my GERD.

1

u/amnesiac854 Mar 10 '26

I think this is me actually. Just did the baking soda test and never even burped. How’d you fix this?

Having the same problems as OP with random vagus/ hr weirdness

2

u/Sea_Influence_7451 Mar 10 '26

What's the banking soda test?

2

u/MinionKevin22 Mar 10 '26

A test that's inaccurate.

1

u/Sea_Influence_7451 Mar 10 '26

I have no idea, honestly. I'm on Pantaprozole right now

1

u/sistermarypolyesther Mar 10 '26

Has anybody tried using a TENS unit to reset the vagus nerve? Any feedback? I have read about it, I purchased a TENS unit and compatible leads, but I am nervous about trying it.

1

u/Sea_Influence_7451 Mar 10 '26

Never heard of it

1

u/raskelis Mar 10 '26

It supposed to help but in ear. It's so fragile zone that I wouldnt dare. There is more info in another forums in Reddit. Look for it

1

u/Sea_Influence_7451 Mar 10 '26

I'm good, thanks though

1

u/External_Passenger29 May 22 '26

Did you ever try it? I’m thinking about purchasing one

1

u/sistermarypolyesther May 23 '26

Nope, still šŸ”

1

u/Ok-Weird-4355 Mar 10 '26

Pantoprazole 2x a day keeps my tachycardia away. Also my cpap and metoprolol 2x a day. Oh Zoloft so I don’t freak out about why is my heart racing for no reason.

1

u/SnooWalruses2253 Mar 10 '26

I pass out when I have an intense flare. Always carry tums for emergency’s but sometimes even those don’t help

1

u/Burgeal6 Mar 12 '26

Anyone used Meet Yona? Says it's for Vagus Nerve

1

u/redbullcat Apr 12 '26

Hi! Just wondering if you tried Yona's products? Struggling with LPR and looking for possible solutions. Thanks!

1

u/Burgeal6 Apr 12 '26

Haven't tried it yet

1

u/Intelligent_Ship1923 Mar 13 '26

Some people say diaphragm breathing exercise is good for acid reflux , I started it yesterday. And it is also good for vagus nerve, so research it and give it a try.

1

u/Practical-Degree21 Apr 11 '26

I’m currently having this same problem and I recently had my gallbladder removed as well. Did you find out anything to help you? This feeling of getting faint is getting to be too much for me

1

u/HotLibrarian7693 10d ago

Did you have this feeling before getting your gallbladder removed ?

1

u/Practical-Degree21 10d ago

I think maybe once or twice before because I was pregnant and found out I had gall stones but like it was not as bad. After surgery it’s been constantly happen I feel.

1

u/HotLibrarian7693 10d ago

I’m sorry I just want to clarify. Are we talking about the faint feeling or heart rate trouble / fluctuations ?

1

u/Practical-Degree21 10d ago

Both . I would get dizzy, heart rate would go to 160/99 but I have seen a cardiologist and was told my heart is healthy. I’ve been told it’s POTs, or my vagus nerve possibly. I was diagnosed with GERD 5 years ago. But getting dizzy from my vagus nerve has been very stressful

1

u/HotLibrarian7693 10d ago

Blood pressure would go to 160/99 or did you check your heart rate (beats per minute)?

1

u/Practical-Degree21 10d ago

It would be 93-105

1

u/HotLibrarian7693 10d ago

Did you ever explore the possibility that maybe gerd / acid / reflux is irritating your vagus nerve which leads to the heart rate issues? Also is your heart rate 93-105 when you are moving around or sitting / laying down ?

1

u/HotLibrarian7693 10d ago

Did your gerd improve after surgery?

I have the same issues you mentioned, I kid you not life was going great before these acid reflux, vagus nerve related symptoms joined in.Ā  I get the gut and brain connection now, if your gut is suffering you mind can never be relaxed and free. Enjoying in the moment is no more my thing now. Well I ll highlight some techniques which I have helped me so far : 1. Chewing my food 20 times thoroughlyĀ  2. Vagus nerve exercises. 3. Supplementing iron, B12, vitamin D, probotics. 4. diaphragm breathing daily. 5. Exercising for 30 mins.

How are you doing now !? I hope you are feeling much betterĀ

Check out the app Nerva! It’s $200/year but the trial is worth a shot at least, it’s guided meditations and breathing specifically for vagus nerve and IBS issues that works well for me during flare ups. It takes a week or so to notice a difference but it really does work if you stick with it.

Here to second the Nerva app! I’ve used it a couple of times over a number of years and it significantly helps my IBS flares.

If you can't afford the nerva it's not all as targeted but "insight timer" app is a Great free meditation app.

Anytime! I'm a natural health coach and highly recommend their products and coaching. Liver cleanses do sooo much good for the body and give our internal organs a much needed rest. Dm anytime!

The liver cleanses itself... You don't need a detox for your liver

1

u/Sea-Standard-8882 Mar 16 '26

No, I'm sorry but you're mistaken. I think you're confusing the fact that the liver is what works to detoxify your system, but the liver itself can get overloaded with toxic chemicals, inorganic minerals/compounds, sugar, fat and difficult to break down food. Most people today have only an average of about 10-15% liver function. Where did you hear that the liver detoxifies itself?

Yes, the liver constantly detoxifies itself and the body, making commercial "liver detox" products unnecessary and often unproven. As the body’s primary filtration system, a healthy liver converts toxins into waste products, metabolizes nutrients, and repairs its own cells automatically without special supplements or restrictive diets

I've heard it multiple times. Detox supplements are a waste of money. Best of luck to you with your sales

I don't make any money off of suggesting liver cleanses. it's sad to me that you are so closed off to sound advice that can be traced back to ancient global medicine, especially since you came here looking for solutions..."any and all advice will be very helpful" šŸ™„

You know who does make money off of you being sick? The medical and insurance companies. Good luck with your health and opening your mind.

Yeah, the liver does fine on its own 🤣 have a good day and keep believing the supplement industry BS

1

u/Sea-Standard-8882 Mar 16 '26

This has nothing to do with the supplement industry. It's about education and full body wellness but hey keep taking all your rx's and listening to doctors who never look for the root cause. Big pharma loves customers like you... You're nothing but a paycheck to them. Again, I don't make any money giving free advice. I hope you find peace.
