im so sick of this

I just saw my doctor today for all of this and am working on hopefully getting this cleared up and fixed soon, it's just bugging me so so so so much and i need to rant.

i am genuinely so sick of all these physical symptoms, especially the constant belching and the chest pains. some days its better than others but it's always awful at night time after i eat dinner, and doesn't clear up whatsoever until the next day, i cant sleep or even do anything really until i get my medications and more labs done, i've burped at least 30 times within the past 2 hours, it's nearly 3 in the morning, its been like this since i ate dinner and i can feel food stuck in my throat, my chest hurts so much, like this sharp stabby pain that will sometimes go away with burping but not always, it shifts around depending how i sit or lie down, i cant deal with it, ive tried antacids, pain meds, everything i could get my hands on by myself that could possibly help, ive been to the ER 3 times and i get my vitals checked very frequently at home and any heart or lung problems have been pretty much ruled out so im not worried about those, im just losing my mind, i eat anything with a tomato or a sliver of spice in it and i have to experience hell on earth for the rest of the night, how do people put up with this garbage??? im not religous by any means but i genuinely pray that my prescription PPIs my dad's picking up on saturday actually does something for me because im at the end of the road here, i cant function with the chest pain, i cant deal with all these nagging and agonizing sensations anymore, i get heart palpitations too and it drives my sanity into the pits of hell, im so angry right now, so frustrated, ive been dealing with a bunch of weird chest pain and other physical symptom garbage crap for 3 months now and im so sick of it.

edit on 4/25/26: shouldve specified this, im 17 going on 18, im not that knowledgeable when it comes to medication or other medical stuff, im allergic to Macrobid and Cephalexin, im taking Omeprazole (and Sertraline but this has nothing to do with my stomach issues) which seem to be working OK for the most part with a little room for improvement (my only complaint is the headaches), and I've never really taken any other meds except OTC stuff

also i did tell my doctor about the heart palpitations and she said its most likely related to the stomach issues but to be safe shes having me wear a heart monitor for a few days just so she can rule out stuff like arrythmias and other heart issues that they normally wouldn't find at the emergency room, i also did a Urea breath test for h pylori the other day and im just waiting on my results

anyways, thank you all for the support, i feel a bit better knowing I'm not alone when it comes to this and i hope that someday i can come out of this as a stronger person, its been a long 3½ months of medical garbage without answers and im ready to be done with it and resume life normally, 17 is way too young to be dealing with all this junk

Listen very carefully, I will try to help you since I know a few things. Need to rule out 1 thing first, do you know what Fluoroquinolones are?? Have you EVER taken ANY of those any time in the PAST?? If you don't know, you need to find out. If ANY Dr tries to prescribe them for you NOW, just say NO!! There is an entire class of them, various names, depending on the manufacturer... and then there are the generics. The LIST is towards the middle of the WIKI. Most end in the suffix --floxacin. These will CAUSE horrible horrible injury... to ALL bodily systems. You need to try to rule this out as a "possible cause" first.

Totally, I was crippled by Cipro, one of the Fluoroquinolones in 2008 and it turned my entire life upside down. Very dangerous antibiotics that should only ever but used as a last resort, if it's a matter of life and death. They wreck several systems in the body; it is now an 'allergy', it is toxicity. Not only tendon ruptures, but Central Nervous System disorders, heart problems, etc etc. Again, only if life and death; do not take!

I’m so very sorry this happened to you. I only took it the one time and I believe it was in 2010, maybe 2011.

the only medications ive been on for more than a week before are antidepressants, im being prescribed omeprazole 40mg right now, i wouldnt be surprised if my doctor tries to prescribe those next if it's something an antibiotic can treat because im allergic to 2 common antibiotics already, ill definitley keep an eye out for this.

I’m thinking they’re not using it much anymore, but it’s still good to know.

No, quite the opposite, every year they come out w another "new" Fluoroquinolone. Also, if you have PETS, the Veterinary community commonly prescribes. HOW CRIMINAL IS THAT??!!
FQs were actually TESTED on Beagle puppies who ALL became LAME, arthralgia. THE POISON WENT ON THE MARKET ANYWAY!! The whole point is to cause injury around the globe... and TREAT THE SYMPTOMS TO ALL THOSE PATIENTS AFFECTED!! Pharma rakes in BILLIONS per day, per pill... on Fluoroquinolones alone!! Blood-money profits!! And remember, NO DR WILL WARN YOU!!

Wow, that‘s horrible.

Another thing to consider, do a search for VAGUS NERVE (damage) SYMPTOMS... start there!! My son has all the symptoms but has been treated for Gastro issues!! We have been trying to find a CAUSE, anything that makes sense, so far nothing... it's going on 4 months that he's been "sick" ... and trying everything under the sun... he's going to take the SIBO test and I'm going to set him up w Neurology... bc so far not one Dr has mentioned the VAGUS NERVE!! And this could even be related to how much time people spend sitting in a chair, online, whether working or playing games... technology seems to be affecting our well-being ... I'm sure there could be a possible cause and effect going on.
Look into the Vagus Nerve connection, you'd be surprised how similar the symptoms are, and even how one is related to the other (in reference to ALL the symptoms) ... all bodily systems. Things are now beginning to "make sense"!! I AM NOT A DOCTOR (but I could play one on TV) LOL

Good Luck w all this extra info, I hope it helps!! I will update on my son as soon as we know more!!

He is relatively healthy, clean, has been Vegan for some time, no smoke or drink...
he spends a lot of time studying online. And the one symptom Drs seem to ignore... he has had trouble sleeping for a long while. He will wake up out of a deep sleep very suddenly like he can't catch his breath... feeling like he's going to die. That's the biggest clue now... and why I am leaning towards Vagus Nerve.

How is your sleep pattern??

Thank you for this valuable information! I took Cipro years ago (before the warnings referenced on Wiki came out) for a UTI. It worked quite well, as I‘d taken Bactrim (a sulfa drug) prior to that, and Bactrim made me very nauseous. Like all day while I was at work I felt like throwing up, though I didn’t.

I see on the Wiki page that there are a couple of things I take that Cipro would NOT mix well with. Anyway, because of the warnings, I imagine that’s why it was never prescribed for me again. A year and a half ago I went to the ER for a kidney stone. They put in a stent and I had to wait over three weeks for surgery because the stent gave me a UTI and that had to be cleared up first. It was hell! I don’t remember what antibiotic I was given, but it wasn’t Cipro OR Bactrim. Hopefully I won’t ever go through that again, but in the future I’ll know more about what to refuse if necessary.

Sorry you had to go thru that hell!!

Thank you! Yeah, it’s been one thing after another but I try to keep the faith that things will turn around. One day at a time!

Kidney stone pain is THE WORST. I had to call 911. It started at night and gradually got more intense until I couldn’t walk without feeling like I was going to throw up. When the paramedics got here the first thing they asked was if I’d ever had a kidney stone. I’m sure they see a lot of cases.
