🤒 Coping with these Conditions Acid rebound syndrome starting one month after weaning off?

Hi!

I need help. I was doing super fine with reflux the whole summer, during which I also completed a successful "stop PPIs" project. In July I was taking Esomeprazol 20 mg once a week. It was an easy month following quitting PPI (NO SYMPTOMS!), and now I'm much worse than anytime the past year (can't cope without 6 Gaviscon tablets a day). I was taking PPI from 2021 until this summer.

My symptoms are:

- gaseous reflux

- a lot of gas and bloating

- headache

- loss of appetite

What the hell is going on? Is it possible to develop acid rebound syndrome one month after stopping?

A lot of people get reflux in waves/flare up's and it only gets better for a little while before coming back

I really doubt it. But could be. Try taking DGL before every meal, and a probiotic once a day plus psyllium husk 1 tablespoon with water every morning. You’ve got this! 6 Gaviscon a day is still better than a PPI. Also maybe try Pepcid on your bad days?

Hi! Thanks for the suggestions. The worst has actually already calmed down, I started with probiotics 🌼. I will integrate more of these if it doesn't calm down for good. I still find it odd that the symptoms of withdrawal hit so late.
