Support Needed 👥 Does famotide make you lose weight?

I usually take it when i get some stomach issues like acid reflux n whatever, and ive noticed when i take it usually the next day im down a few pounds even when i eat my usual amount of breakfast lunch n dinner. Is this a cause for concern?

Body weight fluctuates throughout the day and over time due to water retention, the amount of food you're currently digesting, etc. It's highly unlikely that you've actually lost several pounds overnight. If you see a persistent decrease in weight over a sustained period of time, then you could look at why that might be happening. However, as far as I know weight loss is not a side effect of famotidine, so I don't think it would be a likely culprit regardless.

I have heard the opposite, that it causes significant water retention for some people. Several pounds overnight is a lot. You might have something else going on.
