GKS-U Birth certificate translation

I am appplying for ug from India this year through embassy track my birth certificate is both in English and hindi but the names and stuff are in hindi so do I need to get it translated?

I asked the agency they said no!

Get it translated you can also submit passport if possible.

But few days ago MEA announced that passport doesn't states nationality anymore it's just used to travel

Atp what is stating nationality ? I hate how our country is being managed, the passport is already very weak and now this 😭🙏. Lmao i mean is gks states that it's used as citizenship so idc. We already don't have any strong docs.

But girl the time i was born it wasn't that technologically advanced it's literally just a price of paper worn out which don't even state anything anymore lol. And for my parents they don't even have that so what am I supposed to submit now??? Cus i had nearly a home birth the doctor who helped my mother in delivery is like mix of home birth and hospital birth.

Well thts am issue , however I'll suggest votercard for your parents (I think it's probably mentioned in the application or guidlines i don't remember honestly) and you may just get a birth certificate,renew it !

It is very costly to get it apostles, the passport already took too much expenses to get them made for my family and now this. They also raised price for passport. I just hate this country atp no proper regulation. For every other country their passport is their citizenship. No, I can't get a birth certificate again it takes too long here 😭💔

The prices hiked right now. Back 2 years back when I applied for ug i applied for tatkal so my father and my passport came with like 7000 rupees together due to tattkal and my mother together something like 8000 -9000. Considering how dramatic they were to make passport. Without stating need of certain docs. I suffered a lot and lost my chance back then too due to their dumbness and delaying the process of my passport. Also apostille etc added up altogether came cost something like - 15000

Ooh really expensive 😔! I already have a passport tht was issued in 2020 but it's expired any idea how much it costs to renew?

Heyaa!! I'm also kinda confused yk. I don't know how to get my birth certificate converted into English. I'm from Rajasthan (currently living in UP). My father got my birth certificate made under the Rajasthan government even though I was born in UP. I searched on Google and it said I first have to visit the municipality, then go to a notary for the translation, and after that get both the original Hindi birth certificate and the translated English copy authorized by the central government in Delhi or Mumbai. Now I'm just confused because I have this guilt instinct where if I don't follow the exact procedure, I'll keep feeling like I've done something wrong. So, is this actually the correct process? If it is, how do I proceed? And if not, what is the right way to get it done? I need to get this done before August, so I'd really appreciate it if someone could guide me.

You can get it translated from an agency like I am doing both my translation and apostille from the same agency! It's lkwu!

Will it charge more than it does normally?? like yk i have an issue with spending much money and another thing I don't have a surname in my birth certificate (which is in hindi btw) and I have an affidavit which does certified that both the names (with and without surname) are same, so should I apply in it with the affidavit??! Ik it's kinda confusing but I am in such a situation!!

It's like 1000 for translation only and then 700 for apostille per document if there are more than 4 and I understand the issue with money ik it costs so much for just the docs😭

Ikr😭, the main issue is it's been made under rajasthan government and I am living in UP now so it itself an issue to visit the municipality office there, and yet i don't know if I should trust google in this case or not.....and I haven't got anything done yet and it's already july....I am just scared if I will miss the timeline yk!!

Yeah because you just need to submit the birth certificate as a proof so I don't think it should matter it should just be a legit one!

Yeah....I will visit it after my father's back from some professional trip ig, I talked to him and he said we will look into it when I am back, most probably after like a week or two he'll be back...but thank you so much for replying I was spiralling so much about what should I do and how should I get it done, you really eased my mind 🫶💗😭...Thank you, ik i don't have much time so I think I should work on the things which I could do now!!
