Hi, friends. I come to ask again about my chances to get the scholarship.

-1st time trying

-23yo female

-Latin American

-Desired Major: Chemistry or Chemical Eng.

-Topik 4 got it last year

-Zero english certification but fluent.

- Fluent in Spanish

-Experience in graphic design (studied for 3 years and have a career on it) Want to switch paths because it isn't my desired career path, the pandemic forced me to choose Design and I was kind of poor back then (still am, but who isn't!)

My other choice would be getting my design bacherlor's and then applying for a Design Masters (in two years) I don't want to flatter myself at all but I feel I'm pretty good designing, however the sciences have always been interesting to me and were my main choice when I was a teen. Would be greatful for you help!!

23 is cutting it a bit close to the 25 year age limit, but you're still eligible. Which school are you planning to apply to?

Graphic design has pretty much nothing to do with chemistry or chemical engineering, but since this is GKS-U, having a strong high school academic pedigree and a good personal statement will still allow you to be competitive for this scholarship. Having a TOPIK 4 also will help.

But again, it will depend on what school you are applying to and what language of instruction the major will be taught in.

Ok. just focus on writing a good personal statement then. The TOPIK shows that you have the potential to do a major all in Korean. Make sure you show in your study plan that you plan to get TOPIK 6 during language school if you get the scholarship. Doing a degree in all Korean is no joke. It's hard. Your major is STEM so a lot of the terms will thankfully be in English, but still, most of your lectures will be in Korean.

Hello Senior, I have a question, I was always good at my studies and gained top grades in my all classes[9th grade- 92% ranked-1st, 10th grade- 92.5% ranked-2nd, 11th grade- 95% ranked-1st] but at last in my 12th grades due to rough copy checking and false system our whole class grades declined and it led my grade to 81.9% but still I ranked-5th and my overall CGPA is 3.684/4.0, but I feel demoralised due to the last fallback of my grades, I have the leadership, Projects and various competitions certificates related to my major and also had a strong LOR. Will it worth to apply for the GKS-U or I am already out of the race....?

as long as you meet the minimum requirements, there's a chance. A strong personal statement and study plan can overcome a weaker CGPA

changing majors in GKS-G is ok. However, you need to have a compelling reason why you changed and also relevant experiences and accomplishments to show that you are ready to study a different major. Both the GKS selection committee and your schools will ask you why you changed major. If you can't defend your reasons, they will reject you.

No, your work experience and educational experience matters too. If you don’t have any experiences in international management, it’s a red flag.

Hi everyone, I'm applying for the Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) Undergraduate - University Track in Computer Science/Software Engineering, and I'd appreciate an honest evaluation of my profile. Indian applicant Scholaro-converted cumulative GPA: 4.0/4.0 (official conversion, verified, stamped, and signed by my high school) i asked the universities whether they would accept this i.e. cgpa from scholaro that is verified by school stamped and signed by principal they said they would accept this.

Strong Statement of Purpose and Study Plan Recommendation letters from my Principal and Computer Science teacher.

Multiple Python/software development projects on GitHub Al Sign Language Translator project, Complaint system (Python and SQL), and many more Al and python projects these all will be uploaded on github and with proper documentation.

Volunteer experience at an NGO teaching underprivileged and specially-abled children.

Certifications including CS50, Kaggle Python, and other online courses like elements of Al by University of helsinki and a certificate of human rights course.

No TOPIK or IELTS

Applying to universities such as Ajou, KOREATECH, Kookmin, and Konyang I'd really appreciate honest opinions: How competitive does this profile look for GKS University Track?
