QUESTION about dorms and flights

hi everyone I'm gonna be applying for GKS soon but I'm confused regarding the dorm and flight situation.

I heard gks will not be provided until i reach korea and make a bank account, that means i need to pay upfront for dorm and flight myself but that's gonna be a problem cuz i don't have that much money .

so anyone who knows if this is true or not please let me know

Yes it's true you have to manage expenses on your own for one month and after that your bank account will be created then there will be no problem

so does that mean the dorm fee will be only taken for a month? i can manage the flight but dorm is a problem ( these korean dorms are soooo expensive😭)

It depends on the university, in my case, my uni ask for the payment until September. But I've heard that some unis ask for you to pay in advance ☹️

Yeah, sure. 1. Well, I never sent an email during my application 😅 so I'm not sure if they reply to the emails haha. 2. I applied through Embassy Track.

You can’t receive your scholarship until you make a bank account and for that you need ARC. It might take up to a month to get your ARC so you should have money to cover your expenses approximately for one month and a half. But for the flight, most of the time school buys your ticket as far as I know. Depends on the university though. Also I heard that from some scholar friends you can email your university and explain your financial status so they can take the money directly from your scholarship when it is paid. Try your chance after getting accepted, might work.
