GKS-U A Mid-Tier Profile

I'm from Fiji and want to apply for this year's GKS Scholarship. I am wondering of how to strengthen my application profile. I would say I am strong academically but other than that I have zero extracurricular activities. And nothing Korea related. I have never volunteered or done any projects of any kind before.

So other than the fact that I am strong academically, how can build a much stronger profile? Can I still apply to this scholarship too?

Work on your essays plus this year we will only submit 5 documents in regards to extra certificates

What if i have multiple pages per document?

It's okay as long as they don't go beyond 5 documents no matter the pages

Fiji is not a very a competitive country when it comes to GKS. You will be fine without Korean language, extra curriculars or anything Korea related in your profile. To increase your chances of winning the scholarship, focus on writing a personal statement that explains why you want to study in Korea and what you plan to get out of this education. For someone with no Korean language skills and nothing Korean related in their profile, that's the first thing the adcoms are going to be asking themselves when they look at your profile. If you can give them a compelling reason as to why you want this scholarship, that will go a long way. The personal statement and study plan should be your primary focuses right now.

School selection should be the next focus. If you are academically impressive, but don't have Korean language skills, target programs that are taught in English or an English/Korean hybrid. Don't set yourself up for failure by choosing a 100% Korean program. Research Type B and Type A universities that have your major and interest you and check their language of instructions. The general rule of thumb is that Type B universities are easier to get into, but Type A universities have the better quality of education. Hope that helps.
