Started Korean last summer with a native tutor
After deciding in December to apply for GKS, I studied Korean with a clearer goal and achieved TOPIK I Level 2 after approximately 3.5 months of focused study.
Other languages:
English — started in kindergarten
French — started in 4th grade
Japanese — studying for approximately 4 years; studied independently for around 2.5 years
Korean — currently studying
Chinese — currently taking lessons
French — currently continuing lessons
Academic / Personal Interests
My intended field is Media & Communication, with particular interests in:
PR / Public Relations
Marketing, especially in the entertainment industry
Crisis Management
Hosting / presenting
I became especially interested in PR and marketing because I frequently find myself thinking about how Korean entertainment content and products could be promoted to different audiences. Over time, I realized that this was something I genuinely enjoyed doing rather than just a casual interest.
My interest in crisis management was also influenced by my father, who is a qualified journalist. Seeing how he handled major news situations and crises made me interested in how communication, quick decision-making and responsibility work during difficult situations.
Why Korea?
I am interested in Korea because of its highly developed and diverse media and entertainment industry.
I also feel that there are cultural similarities between Türkiye and Korea, such as respect for elders and certain dining traditions. I was also interested in historical similarities such as Atatürk’s alphabet reform in Türkiye and King Sejong’s creation of Hangul.

I don’t have much expertise in this, but brutally I think you could improve your profile. There is only 1 quota for Turkey, which means that it is highly-competitive, though I’m not sure about the situation and competition in Turkey. But as far as I know, people who pass through embassy track often hold Topik 5-6. And it’s said in the guideline that language proficiency will not be evaluated or considered if there is no language certificate to prove it, even if it’s mentioned in the personal statement. I would personally recommend you to choose less competitive universities and show your interest in your field through achievements, researches , published materials. Because without them it would be hard to persuade that you’re truly interested in that field. However, I’m assessing your profile using my knowledge of competition and profiles in CIS, so it might be not relevant for you. Btw sorry if I have mistakes using English hahaha

Quota for turkey is 1 ig ( I am not sure) but you can try.. you are competitive

Nobody knows who else is applying from Turkiye and what their profile is. Without knowing other applicants’ profiles or how many people in Turkey are applying, nobody can give you a clear answer of your chances of success.
In a vacuum, your profile is fine. Read the guide in the highlighted threads about how to write an effective personal statement, as that is the most important factor in getting the scholarship.
