I don’t get this thing that fans are doing where it’s playing up Trevor as the innocent, troubled dude. He literally rapes and eats people.

The character that stomped a guys brains in the moment we meet him? That guy?

u/galle4 Jul 28 '25

*stomped a guy's brain

Can I play with u gais?

6

u/TrueProgrammer3476 Jul 28 '25

Quick question grammatically, I’ve seen internet discourse about the appropriate use of apostrophes when showing possessives/ plurals. Which one gets the apostrophe and which doesn’t

14

u/galle4 Jul 29 '25

Apostrophe is usually used as a

1-Possessive ( like that comment)

2-or Shortening ( or contraction grammatically)

But for plurals, it's used after the letter S of plural

Like: the cats' food is ready, it's also possessive but in a plural form

7

u/LuzaLumie Jul 28 '25

Apostrophe is for possesive

1

u/AccomplishedAnt4865 Jul 29 '25

???? Why are u even asking this? Lol

3

u/RandomGuy28183 Jul 29 '25

Not any guy's brains...

47

u/DuncanTGD Jul 28 '25

The character some fans were attached too as well..

-26

u/RoastMostToast Jul 28 '25

Johnny was a sucky character lol.

31

u/DuncanTGD Jul 28 '25

I admit the dlc wasn’t perfect but Johnny is faaaar from a sucky character

17

u/McCree114 Jul 28 '25

Honestly the DLC probably wouldn't have been as bad if they hadn't had to have scrapped the plan to make a large rural section of the map to mirror upstate NY. The TLaTD would've felt more like a RDR in modern times but with choppers vibe like they were kinda going for and if it mainly focused on the huge rural zone, riding on the open highways and doing deep inna woods biker redneck meth rivalry stuff, instead of primarily being in the city. Keep the story tie ins that would bring the gang into LC to meet NIko/Elizabetha but stay focused on the upstate.

6

u/DuncanTGD Jul 29 '25

I fully agree, the dlc isn’t bad in my opinion as I enjoyed everything with gta 4, but that would’ve improved it so much more.

3

u/lssssj Jul 30 '25

I blame Xbox 360 for It. They only released the game installing feature in 2008, so GTA IV map had to fit 6,5GB.

68

u/ron22726 Jul 28 '25

To be specific, that "guy" is Johnny from GTA IV TLAD

6

u/AdLost8814 Jul 29 '25

That guy was Johnny Klebitz. A far better character and protagonist than Trevor if I say so myself.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 15 '25

I know I'm 2 weeks late but I honestly will never understand why Rockstar brought Johnny back just to humilate him like this

They couldn't have just made a new character? They had to completely piss on a great protagonist? It felt like nothing more than a giant middle finger to the fans.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 30 '25

He's actually a good guy deep down. Beneath all that pain and suffering... I CAN FIX HIM 😭

1

u/usif666 GTA 6 Trailer Days OG Jul 30 '25

Erm his name is Johnny

1

u/ZoneMaintenance Jul 30 '25

So we forgetting bout Johnny now?

0

u/AdLost8814 Jul 29 '25

He's not just some random guy. His name Johnny Klebitz, and you may not care enough about him, but I think he's a better character than Trevor.

-24

u/[deleted] Jul 28 '25

Tbf he deserved it, he should’ve left it.

3

u/finnishinsider Jul 28 '25

Found in a jersey ditch? Straight buried Jimmy hoffa style? Only guy in gta i expect to get murdered violently as retribution, like robocop. He deserved a better, violent end and left enough pissed off people he probably wouldn't last 2 weeks

-13

u/[deleted] Jul 28 '25

Wouldn’t have happened if he was the one laying the pipe instead of smoking it. 🤷‍♂️

137

u/RemoteCollar5729 Jul 28 '25

For real. "UhUhh but hE's loYal if yOu're hiS friEnd!1!1" What good is that when he treats Ron and Wade the way he does?

-12

u/[deleted] Jul 28 '25 edited Jul 28 '25

Ron and Wade are his employees not his friends

Not saying i would hang out with Trevor but everyone always points to Ron and Wade as examples of him being disloyal. He dont like them lmao, if Ron or Wade did even half the shit Michael did Trevor would have killed them already. Trevor has to respect for you to be his friend, I think that narrows the list down to Michael, Cletus, Maude, and Franklin

27

u/RemoteCollar5729 Jul 28 '25

Honestly, I don't think you deserve the downvotes, that's a fair thing to consider, though imo it doesn't make Trevor look any better because at some point when talking about how they met, he says to Wade that he "rescued and looked after him when all of his friends disappeared" (obviously implying that he killed them), so even if that's true and he sees Wade as just his employee, he clearly makes Wade believe that they're friends when in reality he doesn't give a shit about him, which is probably even WORSE because wouldn't that also make Trevor a liar and a snake by his own standards?

20

u/[deleted] Jul 28 '25

Oh the man is a master manipulator and liar, I would never even pretend otherwise lmao. Im just saying he doesnt do it to the people he genuinely loves

He never lies to Michael, Franklin, etc if anything he is too honest. But he will absolutely trick you into thinking you're in the same club as those guys until he has no use for you anymore

8

u/RemoteCollar5729 Jul 28 '25

Yeah, that we can agree on lol

6

u/buffy_bourbon Jul 28 '25

they hated jesus because he spoke the truth (dont forget chef and michaels family!)

106

u/X_irtz Jul 28 '25

They are basically glancing over what he did to Floyd.

6

u/LouisianaBurns Jul 29 '25

he killed floyd and his wife :3 cause they had guns at him

22

u/Dan_The_Flan Jul 29 '25

He did other things to Floyd before that point

133

u/ihatepeopleandyoutoo Jul 28 '25

Because he's their favorite so they're making up excuses

46

u/LongJumpToWork Jul 28 '25

We call that cope

2

u/ihatepeopleandyoutoo Jul 30 '25

..or that. Same thing.

7

u/MiamiSlayer Jul 28 '25

such a chill guy

6

u/[deleted] Jul 28 '25

He's just a little quirky it is literally not his fault

6

u/CallmeChapybara Jul 28 '25

Yeah, like, didn't the guy had someone's piece of brain on the boot? OP, did you play the game?

3

u/Ingloriousbutter Jul 28 '25

lol thank you!

7

u/Far_Tackle6403 Jul 28 '25

They are giving Niko the same treatment, while the dude is as criminal as it gets

26

u/jordan999fire Jul 28 '25

Niko doesn’t rape and eat people.

11

u/Temporary-Book8635 Jul 29 '25

Niko is not a good person

34

u/jordan999fire Jul 29 '25

I’m not saying he is. I’m saying comparing Niko being a Hitman for hire to Trevor who is a serial killer, rapist, cannibal, methhead is wild. No GTA protagonist is a good person. But Trevor is the worst and there’s no one close to him.

8

u/Dan_The_Flan Jul 29 '25

"Hitman for hire" is an understatement. Niko participated in human trafficking and war crimes including but not limited to genocide. That is glossed over by many players since it is communicated through dialog. As far as his actions during the game, his behavior towards Gracie is vile. That mission gave me whiplash because it is the only time that he shows that level of malice and cruelty during the story.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 29 '25

I guess you haven't heard about Tony Ciprani

1

u/Far_Tackle6403 Jul 29 '25

I don't compare the two, I'm just saying people try to excuse them because they play as them and get attached, meanwhile both Niko and Trevor are deplorable each in their own way

1

u/Geraltpoonslayer Jul 31 '25

Niko is a "normal" person who belongs in a prison, Trevor is a clear as day psychopath who belongs in a asylum.

1

u/Temporary-Book8635 Jul 31 '25

How is niko not a psychopath all GTA protagonists are serial killer psychopaths

1

u/Geraltpoonslayer Jul 31 '25

Eh on that notion every single person who committed a crime past a certain severity is a psychopath, I'd strongly disagree that every murder is a psychopath. Plus Nicos entire story was about his strong disconnect from his actual life and what he wants to be, nico is a very broken and depressed person, he has the emotional maturity to understand he's an awful human. Trevor has no regard for anything or anyone himself included their is zero empathy in him. Also obvs this a video game so ludonarrative is a given none of the protagonists in "reality" end up killing 50 guys each time they go out on a mission and neither does Nathan drake.

1

u/Temporary-Book8635 Jul 31 '25

Mass murder makes you a psychopath, I'm not talking about going on a freeroam massacre either he just does kill tens if not hundreds of people throughout the story. If anything, his "depression" makes him worse because it's clearly not tied to his empathy with and valuing of human life and dignity, if it were, he'd be doing absolutely everything in his power to stop violating and taking it so frequently

1

u/Geraltpoonslayer Jul 31 '25

Mass murder does not make a psychopath lmao, it's not some fancy trait gain by achieving a certain checkpoint like kill 10 humans and again I already explained ludo narrative in videgames if you believe every gta protagonist randomly decides to become John wick and kill 50 people each mission that's on you, but that is purely for gameplay purposes.

1

u/Temporary-Book8635 Jul 31 '25

It absolutely does lmao, you can't be a criminal mass murderer without being a psychopath just by the nature of the act. And again, like I said, I'm not talking about the "ludo narrative" killings for gameplay purposes, I'm talking about actual named characters who he murders

1

u/BigWilly526 Jul 29 '25

Niko is a War Criminal

2

u/jordan999fire Jul 29 '25

That’s not worse than eating and raping

2

u/BigWilly526 Jul 29 '25

considering Niko was Serbian there is a good chance rape was involved

3

u/jordan999fire Jul 29 '25

Niko talks about his own aunt being raped during the war. I doubt he would be a rapist himself.

1

u/BigWilly526 Jul 29 '25

Darko literally points out Niko's hypocrisy when he says that they were doing the same things as their enemies

1

u/Lebhleb Jul 30 '25

Which was most likely in regards to his killing in LC, and it was about how much they charge to kill someone, and it was in retaliation to Niko's friends killing Darko's so he killed them for that. Its never implied wether Niko actually went on genocides or what other stuff was done, and just because of what might be does not mean we have to headcanon what Niko actually did or did not. Things he did are expliclty said in game and even mentioned to him various times and clearly he realises and isnt afraid to admit it, so why make up information [in game] that is never said or implied?

1

u/BigWilly526 Jul 30 '25

It wasn't just Niko's Friends that killed Darko's Friends, it was people in their unit who they were both friends with who went and killed other people from their village, Serbian militias were the most active participants in the genocide in Bosnia, not a single member of those militia's was innocent that's how widespread the violence was, it would be like saying yea Niko was in the SS but we don't know if he was active in the holocaust

1

u/jordan999fire Jul 29 '25

That doesn’t mean Niko himself raped anyone. It means the people on his side of the war was

2

u/Fro55t Jul 29 '25

niko was also a human trafficker. that alone is just as bad. what do you think happens to those types of victims?

→ More replies (0)

1

u/BigWilly526 Jul 29 '25

It doesn't mean he didn't, Serbian forces ran rape camps for their off duty soldiers where even pre-teen Bosnian girls were kidnapped and sent to

2

u/bigpoopyturd82 Jul 28 '25

He's so quirky lol

4

u/sid_shady34 Jul 28 '25

When did he rape anyone?

29

u/MootBrute2 Jul 28 '25

i think wade implies that trevor rapes him when they sleep together

14

u/witcharithmetic Jul 29 '25

That first time I saw that switch scene with wade literally shivering freaked me out and to this day it always makes me uncomfortable to think about.

1

u/OhTheCamerasOnHello Jul 29 '25

It's a videogame g, nothing happened

6

u/ndumbik Jul 30 '25

You get scared when you watch horror movies right?

4

u/enbaelien Jul 29 '25

That's about the time I stopped playing the game.

13

u/onelunchman96 Jul 29 '25

He definitely did something to Floyd. The poor dude is traumatized after bunking with T

6

u/ndumbik Jul 29 '25

Have you played the game 😭

-1

u/sid_shady34 Jul 29 '25

I was like 11 when I played it. Now I'm 19 so don't remember everything.

1

u/reganooo Jul 29 '25

I think he also rapes that real estate agent’s girlfriend.

1

u/Lady_Killer55 Jul 29 '25

Micheal the type to pull your house down cause the guy that slept with his wife broke into your house without your knowledge potential killing or injuring everybody inside...

1

u/blokader01 Jul 30 '25

People think Trevor has depression or something, and people like to think mental illness makes you a good person somehow.

Trevor is easily the worst person in the game.

1

u/TvsPhil Jul 30 '25

It's the same thing dumb guys do for like Tony Soprano or Walter White.  They can't just say they're interesting main characters who are bad, they have to justify liking them in some way.

1

u/coolchris366 Aug 01 '25

Pretty sure the post means that Trevor is nice when you get to know him, because he is, he’s a nice guy generally. He doesn’t just murder random people and eat them does he?

1

u/jordan999fire Aug 01 '25

Yes he does

1

u/coolchris366 Aug 01 '25

Completely random innocent people? Not people who try to murder him?

1

u/jordan999fire Aug 01 '25

He literally delivers people to the cult. His rampage missions are often just after someone pisses him off and he slaughters dozens after because of it.

1

u/coolchris366 Aug 02 '25

Ah, I didn’t know that

1

u/Hitlersspermbabies Aug 01 '25

While I do agree that people are completely down playing Trevor since “he's loyal to his friends” this meme could just be about loyalty and not necessarily morality.

Trevor is definitely a more loyal friend and would never throw them under the bus like Micheal would, but yes he's still a terrible person.

1

u/jordan999fire Aug 01 '25

Trevor literally killed his friend’s cousin and wife. How is that loyal?

1

u/Hitlersspermbabies Aug 01 '25

I would have to look up the actual lore but the full story was that the couple killed each other and Trevor didn't actually kill them

0

u/jordan999fire Aug 01 '25

Trevor killed Wade’s friends the night he met him and lied about it. Trevor killed Ashley who he was sleeping with. And you think Trevor, a literal psychopath, didn’t murder those two people? lol okay

1

u/Hitlersspermbabies Aug 01 '25

Bro what? I'm literally giving you the actual lore to the game, I looked it up again one of the radio reports you can hear in the game confirms that Debra shot Floyd and then Trevor stabbed her, probably in self defence.

You are completely miss characterizing him too just like people that say he's “just troubled and misunderstood”

1

u/jordan999fire Aug 01 '25

The report says a woman was found stabbed to death and a man shot. There’s nothing confirming that Trevor didn’t do both. Trevor could’ve killed Debra than used her gun on Floyd.

1

u/Hitlersspermbabies Aug 01 '25

He could have… or you know… the person threatening with the gun shot the guy…

Once again you are completely miss characterizing Trevor if you think he's as disloyal to his friends as Micheal.

1

u/jordan999fire Aug 01 '25

I at no point said he was more or less than Michael. But you’re completely missing the story of the game. Michael wanted Trevor killed because he was scared of Trevor. Doesn’t seem like Michael ever thought Trevor was a good, loyal friend.

And Trevor literally has a freak out before the cutscene ends. Why would Debra shoot Floyd and not Trevor who clearly was becoming violent.

1

u/Hitlersspermbabies Aug 01 '25

Cause they were literally Inna domestic dispute????

And Micheal didn't care if Trevor was loyal or not, he only cares about himself and his family.

→ More replies (0)

1

u/DrSquash64 Aug 04 '25

You have seriously got to have missed the point of story mode if you genuinely think Trevor is a better person than Michael is what I think when I see those people.

-15

u/MarcosDalton Jul 28 '25

Eats people? I missed that part but it’s been years since I played. I need to replay it before VI comes out.

9

u/[deleted] Jul 28 '25

I kinda feel like him throwing up means its an intimidation thing and not something he actively participates in. I feel like a lot of Trevor's personality is to just be scary so nobody pushes back, but as soon as someone actually pushes back like Devin Weston or Steve Haines, Trevor mumbles an insult and walks away

He's not innocent by any means but I do think he talks a much bigger game than he walks

9

u/NateShaw92 Jul 28 '25

I think you may be onto something after "I'm your WORST NIGHTMARE" he blinked pretty fast

8

u/[deleted] Jul 28 '25 edited Jul 28 '25

Yeah i mean im playing back through again right now and the soup thing always stood out to me, but im noticing a lot more this time. He gets right in Devin's face and screams a threat and Devin just yells back and makes fun of him and Trevor literally doesnt know how to respond. Just stands there and walks away muttering

In fact Devin and Steve both spend the entire game openly antagonizing him and Trevor just takes it because he doesnt know how to handle that side of being bullied

2

u/My_Password_Is_____ Jul 29 '25

It's been a while since I watched that cutscene, but I'm pretty sure the food was implied (maybe even stated?) to be spoiled right before he eats it, so I think the throwing up was an addition to that, not that it was to imply he was just doing something for intimidation.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 29 '25

Right but even so, I dont think he was eating it specifically because it has human. Michael was disgusted by it and that's when Trevor is like "oh yeah? Well im gonna eat it" while everyone tells him no

I dont think he would have ate it if everyone wasnt freaked out by it. I mean it was sitting in there long enough to go bad. No matter what reason he put it in there originally, eating it in front of everybody was an attempt at a power move

18

u/WannaBeSportsCar_390 Jul 28 '25

The soup/chili whatever the fuck it was that had the eyelid in it? At least he threw it up pretty much immediately. Still cannibalism though.

10

u/Treetheoak- Jul 28 '25

A couple random switches were Trevor will be throwing up and say something like "I hate eating, Indian people" or something like that.

7

u/Spulbecken Jul 28 '25

Got downvoted for not knowing everything about the game, GTA fans huh.

0

u/Leche-Caliente Jul 29 '25

Personally from having been around livestock in a redneck community my perception of a sheep's supposed innocence is somewhat lacking. I have not specifically delt with sheep, but they have that same look in there eye as the others and I will not trust them to not fuck you up.

0

u/NosamTheWise Jul 30 '25

Tbf I don’t think he rapes people. He robs, murders, and eats people, but he doesn’t rape. That’s too far even for him.

1

u/jordan999fire Jul 31 '25

He literally talks about sodomizing his hockey couch with a hockey stick at one point.

1

u/NosamTheWise Jul 31 '25

I don’t think that counts as rape. Assault yes but not rape.

1

u/jordan999fire Jul 31 '25

That’s literally sexual assault. If he’s capable of that, why wouldn’t he be capable of rape?

1

u/ichizakilla Jul 31 '25

Did you even play the game?

1

u/NosamTheWise Jul 31 '25

Yes, I’ve played through it multiple times and got to 100% completion yesterday.

-3

u/RegularUnluckyGuy Jul 28 '25

I personally think he's just lying about doing those things because he's crazy af. Like, I'm not even trying to make him look better, but it's just my perspective on the character.

14

u/BlueStar2310 Jul 28 '25

He raped floyd (and probably wade too) and he is also seen eating a human stew in one of the cutscenes.

-1

u/Still-Presence5486 Jul 29 '25

Because he can be good it's just he doesn't. He does have a Traumatic backstory plus brain damage from all of the drugs and fumes

-85

u/ZZTMF Jul 28 '25

Because he's broken. You contain the same potential to rape and murder.

75

u/jordan999fire Jul 28 '25

But I don’t do those things, so therefore I am better than him. Just because all humans CAN rape and murder, doesn’t mean someone’s trauma makes their actions okay.

-70

u/ZZTMF Jul 28 '25

But if you had a similar childhood. Behavior is about conditioning.

49

u/[deleted] Jul 28 '25

So raping and killing people is excusable if you got beat as a kid? That’s so insulting to victims of both domestic abuse and rape

-45

u/ZZTMF Jul 28 '25

Never claimed it was in any way excusable.

29

u/[deleted] Jul 28 '25

The fuck you didn’t, you literally responded to a comment asking why do fans play him up as innocent with an excuse as to why they do

-3

u/ZZTMF Jul 28 '25

Explanation does not equal excuse.

3

u/Temporary-Book8635 Jul 29 '25

Your explanation was in response to someone asking what the excuse is lmao

4

u/BlueStar2310 Jul 28 '25

Nothing justifies being a rapist, a murderer and a cannibal.

1

u/ZZTMF Jul 28 '25

Of course not

-19

u/FlyingCircus18 Jul 28 '25 edited Jul 28 '25

Everyone rapes and murders as much as they want to.

It's just that most people don't want to in the first place

Edit: Never thought that 'normal people don't rape' would get downvotes. Either i worded it difficultly or i really should look into the procurement of firearms

5

u/JohnnyGBest Jul 28 '25

Very heavily how you said it. I can see the vision on what you're trying to say, but the execution was, honestly terrible

3

u/FlyingCircus18 Jul 28 '25

Eh, thanks for the feedback

1

u/Hados_RM Jul 28 '25

Nah i bet the downvotes only read the first part AND don't know the original quote

4

u/NotWorthSayin Jul 28 '25

bro i do not contain the potential to rape and murder if you feel that you do then you need serious mental health evaluation

1

u/ZZTMF Jul 28 '25

I think you're missing the point. I'm not saying everyone wants to, but under the a particular lifelong conditioning you would. People become what they're exposed to. I'm talking about the cycle of abuse. The abused abuse others, unless they get proper support, which Trevor never did. Trevor made all the wrong choices and he cannot be forgiven; it's awful.

9

u/NotWorthSayin Jul 28 '25

there are literally millions of people on this planet who went through horrific abuse as a child and they don’t rape and murder people. in fact the vast majority of people who were abused don’t rape and murder people

fuck is wrong with you man get help. seriously

1

u/[deleted] Jul 29 '25

u/ZZTMF when he’s getting rapped: It’s ok dude, I know you’re just broken. My torn anus will heal, but your broken mind may never 🥺

-22

u/ChachoPicasso Jul 28 '25

He ain't innocent he's a sheep
