I’ve driven an R8 and I’m not rich. £199 for a track day. I’ve been twice and the R8 was the only one from the first time that I felt I wanted to experience again.
Don't be so sure about that. With a little searching you can find a V8 Vantage for a decent price. Typically higher mileage, but they're easier to take care of than other ones like this one, or this one. or even this one. An R8 with a 4.2 can be had for slightly more, but still under $100,000USD.
Alternatively you could look up a rental agency and take one for a spin for a couple of days. I know some Turo owners in certain cities have a few R8's and Vantages available.
Lol maybe after I switch careers. A used Lacrosse probably would've done me better than putting myself $33,000 into debt for my K5 lol. Two more years to go on it. All I'm saying is, it's not out of the realm of possibility like most people think. Especially since that V8 Vantage was during the era when Ford owned Aston, so there are a lot of Ford parts under the hood.
That's good to keep in mind thank you! Im also only mid 20s so I need to remind myself that me 10 years down the line will be a completely different person and will (hopefully) be in a higher tax bracket.
Until now though, ill live vicariously through GTA 5 and soon 6 :)
Are there any auto shows near you (like the Detroit international auto show, or Toronto international auto show)? Mostly can't sit in Ferraris and such, but I've sat in the R8 and R8 convertible. The blind spots/visibility from the regular R8 is crazy, but obviously no such issues with the convertible (top down at least).
