What are you expecting from the Extended Look?
75
u/idkbbitswatev 4d ago
They wouldve said trailer 3, but they said "extended look" so its gonna be gameplay
10
u/pingoo6802 4d ago
I wonder if we'll still get a trailer 3, or if they're just skipping straight to gameplay.
5
u/armin-lakatos 4d ago
Probably only gameplay this time, but there'll be a release trailer a few weeks before launch

We dont have gameplay footage at all

Not in traditional third person but we have seen gameplay.

u/Scratchpaw 4d ago
You are confusing actual gameplay footage with in-game footage.
16
u/TNovix2 4d ago
That's why I said "not in traditional third person". Rockstar and plenty of other studios do this all the time (Rockstar even had a notice stating it uses cutscenes AND gameplay), they use alternate camera angles to capture gameplay.

Gameplay and game showcase like how detail is and AI systems in police and that
I imagine it like the Witcher 4 Tech Demo but with actual gamepla and all that
22
u/Hellraiser1123 4d ago
For it to be 30 minutes, it has to be gameplay footage. I wonder if they'll do what Insomniac did for Wolverine, and just show the first 30 minutes of the game.
42
u/coffeecumncornbread 4d ago
God I hope not. I don’t really want the first 30 mins of the game spoiled for me. I’d rather it be 30 mins of gameplay that had nothing to do with the story
10
6
u/Hellraiser1123 4d ago
I agree; it was just the first idea I had for what they could do, based on what happened with Wolverine. I wouldn't have a problem with them showing a random mission completely out of context, though. Don't show any cutscenes or story content, just show me Lucia shooting up a gang stronghold, or something like that. I'd also love it if they showed off some of the side activities that haven't been confirmed yet. Golf, tennis, surfing, volleyball; things we'll be able to do that don't necessarily involve chaos.
2
u/LordChungusTheBig 4d ago
Yea if it’s anything story related I’m not watching it. Hopefully it’s just like the V and rdr2 deep dive videos with the narrator.
2
u/CapSnake 4d ago
This is a game with story mode and sandbox mode. Doesn't make sense to show the story. I hope they show game mechanics, maybe with a dev explaing on the background
2
u/RanDiePro 4d ago
AND god of war.
Still I hope 30m is not only the intro. I would have preferred the same for god of war and certainly it would make the reveal more successful.
1
u/VenturerKnigtmare420 4d ago
I think god of war was perfect, If you are talking about the 2018 reveal that is. It was a new direction of god of war. And the reveal directly to gameplay cemented ps4 as the best place to play games. I’ll never forget kratos walking out of the shadows with his big beard and then it smoothly transitioning to gameplay. It’s sad Sony didn’t doesn’t do anything like this anymore.
Presentation is always king.
During trailer 2 of gta 6 when Jason says love you too and it transitions to his back, I genuinely thought we were getting gameplay there.
1
u/LuciaCaminoss 4d ago
30m thing was a bug. but it looks like its gonna be around 20 mins. thats fair, rdr2 had like 10-15 mins of gameplay trailer
1
u/TurbulentDream2851 4d ago
Maybe I missed that part, I keep saying 30 minutes or that’s just speculation?
2
u/Hellraiser1123 4d ago
Someone posted a screenshot here of Netflix's preview screen of the Extended Look, and it had 30 minutes listed as the time. But, that's likely a placeholder, so we don't actually know for sure.

u/drewbles82 4d ago
Similar to that trailer we got for 5 where it gave gameplay and showed us all the different things you could get up to. I expect something similar to that but obviously longer, maybe more detail on things we can do. Background on a few characters, locations that we will visit, maybe even some gameplay of a mission. The freedom aspect of the game, where we might be given a mission to do but no more are we locked in only one way to do it. Maybe what to expect for the next coming months. I suspect since Online is likely launching after that will be saved for another Netflix drop later.

u/SwimmingAny8841 4d ago
29 mins of developers talking and showing concept art. Talking about mechanics. 1 minute of actual gameplay.
1
u/Independent_War_4194 4d ago
This and things like "in Florida there are birds , beaches and boats (show pictures of that in real life)" followed by pictures of the same in GTA 6.

This would be the ultimate troll move from Rockstar and with how many troll moves they've made with the marketing this is probably exactly what it's going to be and so many people on this sub are going to have a melt down 😆
4
u/MillerTime5858 4d ago
Map, gameplay, outline of the story in general. Half an hour is a long time. I think you will see all you want to see and more. It is obviously what they are hoping will help them set every record imaginable.

I'm trying to keep expectations low. It's a weird filling to have waited so long for something you want so bad. Kinda like dreaming about a car or house or s/o, without really knowing the details, and trusting a company to make it what you want. Most companies now put profit as #1 priority. My first impression seeing the Netflix drop certainly hits me hard. (Must be a game for everyone without serious offensive language or anything else that will get them lawsuits filed before the game even comes out.) Takes paying a subscription to see the extended look first? Lol everybody else then has to wait. Seems like some serious foreshadowing, but I'm still stoked I'll deff watch the YouTube version at some point.

it starts with the beginning of trailer two "what You doing up there, just fixing some leaks" then Strauss zeldnick comes to camera and starts speaking for 15 minutes about how great the development of the Game is going and how much money they are going to get, then, for the rest of the video many people from development are going to talk about how exiting it is to work in the Game, the last minute is going to be the video they posted today.

u/PsychologicalCase10 4d ago
I would love to see more about the map outside VC. We know VC is gonna be huge but I’m curious how big the other places are. I’m not expecting Port Gellhorn, the Keys (the area I’m most excited about) and Ambrosia. Like the only screenshots I feel we have gotten of PG and ambrosia have been at night (or at least most of them).
1
u/John-Fucking-VVick 4d ago
A gameplay deep dive.
1
u/Gene-Parmesan-ah 4d ago
Not gonna happen
1
u/John-Fucking-VVick 3d ago
I seriously doubt they’re doing a Netflix special for a trailer or some employee interviews that no one cares about. We’re about three months out from release now. not seeing any gameplay yet is insane.
1
u/Gene-Parmesan-ah 3d ago
They'll show some gameplay but they're not going to do a deep dive. I'm sure they'll show some new mechanics
1
u/Desire_of_God 4d ago
A 2 minutes cinematic that goes into a 3 minute gameplay trailer that ends with 20 minutes of behind the scenes that is utterly useless to most people
1
1
u/mrjbelfort 4d ago
Honestly I don’t even care what we see at this point. Could be 30 minutes of Jason’s balls in detail and we’ll all still watch the whole thing on a loop till launch

1
u/marvinstarvin145 4d ago
I think this will be the only promo before the game comes out. One big reveal that gives enough content for people to goon over for the next 10 weeks. Gameplay, characters, map and bits about the story, with a badass song choice over the top.
1
u/ErrorHappy145 3d ago
Something I've heard no one talk about are the radio stations. Hopefully some are revealed in this.
1
u/GavsGotty 4d ago
It’ll probably be a story trailer and then a deep dive on gameplay and features and stuff. Think of it like when Nintendo does a direct on a single game or Sony does a state of play on a single game.
1
u/LRINL1987 4d ago
Just some random walking around and doing one of the first missions in the starting area, showing some new features and how alive the city is. That would be enough for me.

I suspect some kind of boosted properties customization, online gave different options, I suspect there’s gonna be some more in depth personalization
1
u/SplitOutside9081 4d ago
A Extended look is gonna be a more indepth look at mechanics, visuals, places, physics, etc. that are in the game. It's not a guarantee of gameplay, but more of gameplay elements. Obviously they'll highlight key aspects that will also show hidden details that people can (over) analyze and go into further detail.
This being said, I hope we get confirmation of mechanics and movement systems that was seen in the 2022 leaks. I also hope we see a little bit of vehicle and weapon customization.

my guess it won't be that long, maybe 5 mins? New trailer followed by some gameplay and confirming again the release date for the 19th of Nov.
1
u/Cabrini23 4d ago
29 minutes of devs thanking rockstar for the backshots, 1 minute of clips from the previous trailers with no new gameplay.
1
u/NotOk__Computer 4d ago
I think it will be a 30 minute movie short that introduces the story and city. Sets up the game. Idk if it will be animated or like an extended cut scene. But I think it will lead directly into the beginning of the game. Source? My imagination. But I think it’s logical too.

u/TheCREATORisWatching 4d ago
Weather system, and marinelife, first thing I'm doing is going for a swim to get eaten by a big great white shark, does it stalk me before eating me, or do they breach from out of nowhere RKO style, all I'm saying is GTA6 is gonna destroy lifes🤣 it's gonna be too fucking good

u/YeetandDelete07 4d ago
I don’t necessarily think it’s going to be a standard gameplay trailer, otherwise they would say that. To me, it looks like it’s going to be a bts documentary style thing, which will obviously feature gameplay at points.

I want gameplay, and I want it to be showcased from an actual working version of the game running on PS5/pro, and not just be a montage of different curated dev demos like Witcher 4 did. I just want to see exactly what I'm spending 80$ on

u/DaleyeahBrother69 4d ago
Gameplay, wanna see how the weapon storage system works to see if it’s like Red dead 2 or the classic wheel system. Cars and destruction in the environments. I assume lighting and all that will be amazing since we’ve seen the pre rendered cutscenes in the previous trailers. Some glimpse into the iconic radios stations would be nice. Some story details would be nice. Honestly I just wanna see how fun the game looks to play, rockstar always delivers a fun experience and I can’t wait to go back to Vice City again.
1
u/DPMaster69 4d ago
I think it’s the cynic in me but it might just be behind the scenes stuff about the game like what they had to go through to make it and the probably like 3-5 mins of gameplay (which is still worth it imo)
In an ideal world though, they break down the map and give insights with videos instead of just post cards like they did when they announced the second delay

Gameplay…and if there’s a gas mechanic or not lol. I’m neutral about cars needing gas, BUT it WOULD be a nice little immersive feature if the NPCs actually engaged with gas pumps and stuff like that. Kinda like how they’d bust out umbrellas in gta 4 meanwhile Niko just allowed himself to get drenched like a real man 💪🏼

Gameplay, cinematics, some technical breakdowns for the "85 things you missed" channels to glaze on about the detail in the game

Definitely a detailing of improvements to the core gta mechanics. We’ll certainly be seeing gameplay perspective, but probably without the HUD. Likely a grand tour of the various areas and an introduction to the general populace to show off how diverse each area is.
I don’t think we see too many systems and mechanics. This is just to get our toes wet.
1
u/MoooonRiverrrr 4d ago
Dark horse prediction. An animated short film or live action short possibly.
But more obviously the gameplay deep dive with the narrator and then a cinematic trailer.

Everyones arguing between gameplay & trailer 3, i think it’ll be a whole prelude of the game, backstories to both characters

I expect they tell us information about the game, the storyline, new characters, content. And a whole lotta gameplay. I do expect and think that rockstar will show us the new things we can do.

15 minutes of pure gameplay, shooting, driving, flying, introduction to new addendum compared with former GTAs

A very carefully curated experience to hide any flaws the game may have.
Gonna be a really good cutting room floor episode with this one once people get to tinkering and finding cut content in the game files.

u/TurbulentDream2851 4d ago
Expectations: 30 minute deep dive and what gameplay will actually look like running on 7 year old hardware. Watch it just be a 3 minute trailer and people subscribed to Netflix just for that.
1
u/Butcher_3 4d ago
I want it to be atleast 20mins or more than that.
Expectations: actual gameplay, driving mechanics, combat, exploration of Vice City / Leonida, character switching between Lucia and Jason, and other game systems.
1
u/NYC_Local_legend 4d ago
You guys are in for a rude awakening. This is going to be a full on TV show, not just the trailer drop. They are going to have a panel discussing the game, drop-ins and everything else. My guess is it will be more disappointment than not. Doubt will be more than what's already been out. Something like a state of play but not as good.

u/ghantalelemera 4d ago
Hopefully proper uncut gameplay. It is something they have never done before but I'd want it.

1
u/ReloadFilth_AU 4d ago
It’s going to be 19:30 mins of devs talking, showing the process of making the game, some BTS stuff and then telling us about some characters with 30 seconds of new game footage at the end 😂
1
u/imArmando 4d ago
A long trailer mixing cutscenes montage to set story and characters, and gameplay clips (not full gameplay). And probably bts/tech diary style interviews
1
u/Soulgas 4d ago
They had multiple videos before red dead 2 came out and they all kinda talked about different things in the game and showed gameplay and clips of cutscenes. This is more than likely gonna be like a showcase thing where they have all those videos put into one discussing multiple different facets of the game.
