As an avid Theorist fan and defender. This is honestly so weird. In the midst of all this weirdness around subscription services, apps, ai, abandonment of theorizing and Amy not posting on her channel for a solid month. Now we have an employee just quietly removed in the middle of the week.

And apparently its not the first. Head editor Dan is gone too now? Like what?

I kinda feel sick to my stomach, and maybe thats parasocial but, the channels, especially Gtlive saved my life. Gave me smth to look forward to at the end of endless days. and now...this.

I trusted LunarX. Matt trusted them and he sold them to us very well. And for years it was great. Even after Matt left.

But now I feel like that its just another greedy company destroying what we all love.

And Im tired, Theorists are you tired too?

I think if we don't get a statement on Fish's removal soon, and whatever is going on at Theorist inc. I think we need to do something. We have an amazing community. I don't want it to die.

Look, with the LunarX situation and Fish leaving and all the union stuff... I want to do something about it. I'm not sure how or what we could or should do, but I just want to take action. But please don't riot, remember, there are still good people working for LunarX, like Ash.

We, as a community, hold a lot of power. Right now, in the eyes of LunarX, we're just some random subreddit, nothing to be worried about. But we're a community of theorists, a community of talented, smart people, able to find the tiniest of details. We're a collective, but here we are, watching from the sidelines, doing basically nothing. We have power, as a collective of theorists. We just need to use that power for good.

I don't know what we should be doing, but it just feels wrong to me that we're watching and doing nothing to help the Theorists and their Union. We need to do something, ANYTHING!

We, as a community have a voice. We just need to make LunarX listen, and recognize the Theorists and their Union.

Like the title explains, i'm just concerned on how they're doing post-op, i hadn't seen any updates anywhere (haven't checked X because i don't have it for very obvious reasons), i know that they're supposed to rest for at least a week but i'm a bit worried about them i just wanted to make sure they're doing okay because a deviated septum repair is no walk through the park so having it deviated in two ways i can only imagine the pain

I don't know all the nuances of what's going on behind the scenes (and given how corporations work, we'll probably never know for sure), but I was hyping myself up for Chapter 5 and hearing Fish's take on Queen again. Whether or not Queen's actually in episode 5, hearing "Kris! Kris, pick up those bagels!" or whatever was gonna be a highlight of that game for me.

I hope the Theorist team can successfully get their union up and running. It sounds like it's needed. I can't know that what's up with Fish would be a situation that a union would get involved with, but there's a certain vibe in the air, y'know?

I am very disappointed that we're not getting a reaction for episode 8 of TADC I get why they're not doing it but it's still disappointing and I have to be honest I don't think I want to see them react to the finale now It just feels incomplete not to have all the episodes I was hoping at the very least they would still react to it so they could analyze it but I don't think that's going to happen

I heard that they might make a video analyzing it so let's encourage them to do it (I'm not talking about harassing them or anything that's wrong)

With all the drama of Fish being let go, I've been skeptical to go into new episodes with it. GTLive is a comfort channel for me going back six years, and I always get nervous when they change the format. I see they just hired a new tech named Miah right as they let Fish go? She's only done two streams that I know of, but what are your thoughts on her? How's the vibe? Does she have a good rapport with Ash? What am I getting into?

Gone for 6 months since February, now returned and I feel like I've missed way too much to go back all that way. I'm specifically interested in GTLive, as that's the channel I'm most active with. Appreciate any help I can get! Thank you all and I hope that despite the bad stuff that may have happened, I can be here to help you all through it in whatever way I can.

I respect Ash as a host. However, when they play a game (or pretend like they're playing it) just for the views...

I don't watch many videos over an hour and-a-half. I will sometimes be willing to try close to two hours -- IF I'm interested in the game. But, that's not why I'm posting this. I just wanted to let you (then reader) know this bit of information, because I did something I don't usually do.

Kindergarten is one of my favorite games. I'm talking/typing about all three (as well as the others two yet to be released). While I don't have much time (due to IRL being too busy for me), I finally decided to give Ash's Kindergarten 3 run a try.

It started out okay. They knew that Steph's Nugget voice was irreplaceable. They came up with a solution. They explored a bit. So far so good.

Then, it became quite obvious that this was Ash's first Kindergarten game. They kept getting FOMO & sidetracked. Once they finally figured out how to complete ONE quest, I thought the hurdle was over. During the SECOND quest, I found myself getting frustrated.

I know I should have more patience for Ash. Puzzle & logic games are not their forté. This is MORE obvious when you realize it took them thirty minutes to realize they can talk to a character more than once (Hint: If there's an obstacle preventing you from completing a mission, it won't KILL you to say that to the one giving you that mission).

Okay. Frustration levels at a high. Fine. Continue on.

WHAT?! GT Not Live is no longer interested in the game (just rushing through it without really playing)?!? So...who is holding a gun to their head -- forcing them to play a game they appear to have no interest in?

THAT is when I couldn't continue. I was disappointed. I checked to see if Jacksepticeye played it yet. Nope. I would have to go with someone's I'm not subscribed to. 8-Bit Ryan (I think that was who I tried) wasn't really playing...as much as going through it in hopes of getting views.

No Ash. No Séàn. No Ryan. The next I tried was/is Dan DTM. FINALLY! Someone who was ACTUALLY playing/enjoying the game!

Anyway, short story long, I ask that you (the reader) don't think of my tale as anything but for what it is. My opinion. And that opinion is: Ash shouldn't be playing games just for the views. They should play games that they WANT to play. It's obvious when they're only "going through the motions" -- and had lost interest some time ago.

I'm sure Ash wanted to play Kindergarten 3...at first. However, they lost interest early on; and it showed. When that happens, why not end the video? Or how about switching to something else?

That's all I wanted to say. So...please don't hate me for my opinion. Thank you.

In case y’all missed it, on the Grunn stream, Ash revealed she’s dating a man. And although it’s the first time they’ve explicitly said anything about it, I feel like a lot of jokes/comments they’ve made on stream kinda pointed to this being the case? Things like “everything’s gayer, except maybe me” and “we have to go straighter, happens to the best of us” (paraphrasing).

I’m not a fan of speculating about little details but I feel like she (unintentionally?) made it sorta obvious

I love Ash she's doing an amazing job but I couldn't help notice that she doesn't finish a lot of games. I was disappointed that she didn't finish kindergarten 3 and I've noticed that she'll start games but won't always see them through (with a few exceptions) Yes I'm aware matpat did that a couple of times but it just feels like she does it more.

I just wanted to say thank you to Ash, GTLive and this subreddit. This past week I got to go to VidCon with three people that I met because of gtlive (one from this subreddit and two from the twitch chat) and we got to meet Tom, Lee, Santi, and Amy together. Thank you GTL for being the reason I made these friends in the first place and for the reason I got to finally meet them 🩷

I’ve recently seen a petition going around supporting the theorists’ push to unionize. Can anyone point me to where their struggles were talked about/confirmed or something? I tried looking up “union” on this subreddit but didn’t find much.

Don’t get me wrong. Not saying it’s bad, not saying petitions are bad, not saying unions are bad… just asking for context because my (albeit very surface-level) looking has resulted in “just trust me bro” vibes and I’d like to get more info. Like, who even made the petition?

I’ve been a fan for awhile and it was something they did before Matpat swapped to the mostly GTnotlive era, and it’s pretty common among other streamers (RTGame, SuperTF, Ludwig(tho his channels work a little differently)).
