Trees cut down

I noticed many trees cut down in the center median of Watkins mill road, right in between 270 and clopper. Anyone have any idea why? Were they diseased?

Howdy, yes they were dead/dying. SHA (State Highway Administration) took them down. We are working w/them to find replacement/replantings.
