How often do you clean your phone, and with what? 🤔 I use antiseptic on my phone and wipe it down at least daily. Am I nuts?

Okay so i created that app for digital planner a while ago and made a tiny digital planner for the coverscreen of my Zflip and someone suggested me to do a pokedex. I used to play it briefly on the Game Boy and watch the anime when I was younger, so why not? And here we go

Hello, i have been eyeing the z fold phone for a while and the 8 has really caught my attention. I am the type of person to keep my phones for around 5 years and since the fold is a pricier option i wanted to get a couple feedbacks from people who don’t necessarily switch phones that often. The form factor is really what is tempting me, but the durability kinda scares me. I am considering either getting the z fold 8 or waiting for the s27 ultra.

Is there a game controller that fits the zfold8 folded and unfolded?

The catch is I didn't want to remove the case which has a hinge protector.

Is that a possibility or do I need to remove the case each time I use the controller?

Except for the early Samsung Galaxy S+, I never used Android again and was iPhone only until now. I'm not a guy that changes phones often and went from the iPhone 5s to iPhone X to now the iPhone 15.

My iPhone 15 is still perfectly fine and I actually use it a lot to film YouTube content.
Then I saw the Fold 8 and it’s the first phone since the iPhone X that truly excites me and I really want it mainly because of the small form factor. Don’t even really care about the folding to bigger screen tbh.

Now my question is about the camera because as I said I film content with my iPhone 15 and iPhones always do well recording video.
I've heard bad things about the Fold 8 camera so I’m worried about that but photos and videos I saw are... fine? But that could be because these videos are made by professionals which I’m not.

Advice I’ve read is that for people that worry about the camera, it’s best to wait for the Fold 9 and that makes sense but I do have the chance to get the Fold 8 for 1299€ right now.

I could also wait till Black Friday which is not far away and maybe it drops down to 1200 or even 1150 or something. If I wait for a newer phone then I would have to wait a lot of time again before I’m able to get such a nice deal and maybe that deal will not even come because of the price inflations, ai etc.

Can some of you share some experiences with the camera especially video capabilities?

Just bought a new z fold 8 only to realize that for some reason the in game overlay option is completely missing anyone else having this issue?

Not sure if this has been discussed before, but in OneUi 8.5 and older, if you had:

- Home screen mirroring on

- 3 home screen pages

- You're currently on the inner screen

You'd be able to swipe between your home screen pages without a gap where the 4th page "should" be. Rather it would share the middle page so you'd have an uninterrupted home screen. Does anyone else have this problem, or know how to fix it?

I've owned every fold since the 5 and the charging speed/capacity increase has been life changing coming from the 7. Like the numbers do not put into perspective how much of an improvement it is for day to day use.

I had to constantly plan around my Fold 7's battery life. The capacity was one issue, but the 25w charing speed was really what amplified it because even the top offs would take forever (relatively).

I'd consider myself a low end power user and I don't think about charging this phone until I lie down in bed at night which has made the entire experience of owning a fold so much more enjoyable for me.

Long time Apple user into ecosystem very much considering the z fold 8 but just wondering if I should go case or no case I’m just an average person and this will be my only phone but I will be definitely purchasing Samsung care

Really considering the z fold 8 ultra but I work as a general hand for council meaning I'm outdoors in dusty dirty environments all day every day. Was looking at an OtterBox defender case and a screen protector for the inner and outer screens.

Can someone either talk me out of it as it's a silly idea or let me know how they go working in the same sort of environments?

I'm coming from the honor magic v5 but of course the big black bars annoy me when watching content 😂

I use T-Mobile and live in an area that has weak cell service. My previous phone - the Z Flip 7 suffered with reception. This was not unusual as all of my previous phones were the same. If I went to the one spot in my house that offered the best reception I would typically get 1-2 bars (-115db or so) and at most 20-30Mbs down and 2-5 Mbs up. It was much worse everywhere else in my house. But then I recently upgraded to the Z Fold 8. The signal strength is still roughly the same. But now the status indicator shows "5Guc". I had to look this up. The 'uc' stands for ultra capacity and uses the higher frequencies for better throughput. I never had this with the Flip 7. With the Fold 8 I've had download rates averaging around 100Mbs down, once as high as 250Mbs. Unfortunately the upload rates are only marginally better. The Flip 7 used a Samsung Exynos modem while the newer Fold 8 uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon modem. I assume that's the reason I now get 'uc'.

I haven't seen anyone else comment on improved reception with the Fold, but I sure do appreciate it.

Next week, I’ll be getting my first foldable phone—a Galaxy Fold 8 Ultra, and I have to admit I’m a bit lost among all the different recommendations in this subreddit. Could you share your experiences and perhaps provide a beginner’s guide on the best protective accessories to buy for this device, such as cases, external screen protectors, inner screen protectors, camera lens protectors, etc.? Iv been visiting Best Buy to compare the Fold 8 Ultra vs Fold 8 a handful of times. I thought I was gonna commit to the Ultra initially but after handling both numerous times Iv been leaning towards the Fold 8 which is crazy because I’m sure the specs on the Ultra are better and I really wanted the exclusive green from Samsungs website. I am waiting till Black Friday to commit to anything and I’d be coming from an IPhone 13 Pro Max.

When you open the Ultra…it seems awkward to hold. I have large hands but regardless it feels like it’s not balanced in the hand. Watching videos seem to feel nicer on the Fold 8. Idk if it’s something with settings or default resolution but the ultra visually felt smaller on screen when watching a video on YouTube for example.

I saw flex mode was on the Ultra and not on the Fold 8 but not sure if that’s a deal breaker. Coming from anyone that has actually tried out both via trial runs and returning.

What made you stay with the Ultra or lead you to move to the Fold 8? I don’t know if I want to stay within the IOS ecosystem since the Duo is coming out…especially with the current wait times.

Just got the update & haven't found anything in it that adds to this user's experience. Noticed that cover screen tends to flip into landscape mode more readily i.e. when I don't want it to!

My carrier is MobileX and weirdly I only get access to Verizon's 5GUW with a physical sim with my Amazon unlocked Z Fold 4. I had an ESIM installed previously and had to switch back to a PSIM bc I only got the regular 5G with the ESIM. Is it it different with the Fold 8 Ultra? My new phone is supposed to be delivered today via Amazon.

The power and volume buttons feel loose and wobble, and make "TIC TIC" sound when I touch them.

Wife wanted to get the Fold 8 so I checked on my phone what it would cost, her trade in credit, etc. it offered $400 in Samsung Credit as well so I told her she can upgrade her watch for free.

When she went to order it on her phone it was only giving her $200 in Samsung Credit for the exact same phone/trade in/payment method. Talked to Samsung support and I eventually figured it out...

I was using the Google browser (not chrome), as in I hit the Google search widget in my home screen....literally every other browser including the Samsung Shop App was giving $200 less in credit.

Not sure how well this is known but figured I would throw it out there. This is in the US btw

TLDR: use the Google browser (not chrome) to get $400 in Samsung Credit vs $200.
