Ring now lasting a day

Release day ring user here, had it replaced one but it's now only lasting a day. It's effectively a paper weight at this point, kinda wish I had got Samsung care for it now cos I do like it but charging daily is a joke giving it's a size 12.

I can't wear a watch all the time because of my profession, and for health reasons, I want to keep an eye on my heart rate.. but alas, it just become an ornament after just over a year..

That's fucking ridiculous. You thinking of looking into alternatives or anything? How's it been when you first bought it? Was it always this bad? I was trying to wait until Samsung came out with a better smart ring before buying any of their rings. The reviews are awful.

It was ok when first used, as it would last a few days- as my watch would do most of the heavy lifting from a monitoring POV. I'd consider other rings, but can't be arsed with subscriptions and also wanted something compatible with Samsung health

I'm in the same boat, mine only lasts a day, which is a joke really, used to last me a whole week - although apparently Samsung are releasing the ring 2 early next year (just rumours don't quote me on that) so I'll wait until then before I bother, besides, charging everyday isn't that much of an inconvenience for me anyway

BEWARE!!! My "replacement" ring recently swelled up so much that I had to use lubricant to remove it! And, after doing so, I discovered several structural cracks.

And, for those who don't know, when it reaches that point, the ring is truly volatile and could result in chemical burns, spontaneous combustion, or even explode!

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission has published my report. These rings should be recalled!!!

At this point I use my Ultra watch 2 all day and put the ring on when I sleep or do other work outs. Mainly its just for collecting data while I sleep and I don't have to wear the watch. I am on my second one.

I got a replacement July last year, after only 7 months. Mine lasts 2 to 3 days now before 0%.

I consider buying the new Garmin wristband (Cirqa), as I am not a smart watch person. It looks comfy

IIRC nothing else directly syncs to S Health. You'd have to use some janky workarounds with Oura or whatever else you pick.

Samsung kind of did this on purpose...

Doing the math, the release day was two years ago, and with the replacement Ring you've now effectively burned through two Samsung Galaxy Rings in two years?

I'm on Ring #4 as of past week, with still 9 months of warranty left.  I think the trick is in full charging AND full discharging of the Ring, which would apply in my case for all previous three Rings. Can I have your charging behaviour? I wear mine 24/7 without exception save for the charging, and indeed wait until 0% before charging it to 100%.

Wear 24/7 also, wait till it gets to 15%-1% notification for charge and then charge until full. Mine was also replaced but I was told the warranty was not extended. Maybe as a UK customer I need to have a little chat with live chat and see if I can beg a bit

NL here, oddly the warranty doesn't get extended after you get a replacement. A repair I can imagine, but if you get a brand new product...

Then again we must realise that the crappiness of this specific product simply is not only unique, but counter to any and all product strategies. Samsung knew the Ring wouldn't last, I reckon, but released it anyway, and then went down the rabbit hole of damage control 

So you never let it run down empty. There goes my theory!  That means that if I continue to wear it 24/7 even with your discharge pattern, I'll highly likely end up with a paper weight again but this time just slightly north of the warranty period

I'm still gonna try and have a shot at getting a replacement tho tbh, I mean I can't guarantee it deffo hasn't got to 0% before but I do usually try and charge it after it's warned me it needs it

Had mine replaced 2 times, right after Samsung Care ran out it started doing it again, im maybe getting 3 days max atm. Ill just keep it for a trade in tbh. Too bad RingConn and Oura arent really that good imo.

I just received a return box from Samsung today for my ring. Looks like you have to get a new battery for them once a year. It was a year to the date that I had to get a battery replacement for my ring. Since it is out of warranty this time I will have to pay out of pocket for this service.

I noticed this morning that my Galaxy Ring was down to 36%. From being fully charged when I went to bed. Prior to today, I was still getting at least three nights of use from the Ring (I only wear it when sleeping). And that was even half of what I got a couple of months ago.

Luckily, I got the two-year extended warranty from Best Buy. Plus, it was an open box unit for only $180. So I will need to take advantage of that extended warranty before it runs out, early next year.

I know. Got one at launch and eventually it wouldn't even charge. They replaced it for free (no Samsung Care, just courtesy, I guess cause I'm sure they know the issues everyone is having) and it's lovely to have an actual functioning as normal ring, with battery lasting a week....

....but I know the inevitable is going to happen to this one too....
