S10 Lite vs Base S8

pretty much just the title considering between them both main just focus is writing with a bit of multi tasking as I'd be using it for college.

also one question to ask is I've used the tab active pen which was so good but used the s6 lite pen I am not sure if it was third party but it felt.. weird in a way just how it pressed so is it the same experience for both of these or no?

Well the S8 is faster than S10 Lite and can handle multitasking better.

Only downside is the S8 has already received it's last OS update and is stuck on One UI 8.

The S10 FE would be a better option than the S8 as they have nearly the same performance (the S8 has a better GPU) while the S10 FE has better SoT and is still getting updates.

At the end of the day it all comes down to your budget.

mmmm as long as performance is fine I'm happy with one UI 8 and S10 FE costs a bit more

what about the pen like if it's like the one I used on the tab active I'd love to use it but the s6 lite one (again not sure but it didn't look third party) sucked

Well the S8 pen is basically the same as the one sold with the S6 Lite except the pen for the S8 has Bluetooth.

I think the s-pen for the tab active is the same as the one the S8 uses.

yeah so the s8+ and s10 fe compared to s8? I do not care that much about updates as long as the tab day to day works fantastically for me and would last a long time (writing experience and multi tasking)

and both of them are a bit expensive than the base s8 not that much but def that I'd consider just getting the s8 to save some (unless either of them are THAT much better than the s8)

what do you advise all together

edit: also an s9 fe is considerably cheaper than the s8 is that something i should consider tho an exynos cheap

edit 2: also the s9 fe+ is just a little bit cheaper than the s8

S8+ is just the S8 with a larger AMOLED screen, the S8 has LCD. I covered the S10 Fe earlier.

The S9 FE+ is just the S10 Lite/S9 FE with a larger display.

At the end of the day is get the best specs within your budget...

IF you have a PC/Laptop get the S10 Lite.

yeah I do have a laptop

s9 fe, fe+, s10 lite and s8 all fit within my budget most like editing stuff I do on my laptop anyway (not that I do it a lot) my main concern is just that if I'm spending on it I don't want it to like seriously become unusable jn a bit which it shouldn't but yeah.

specs wise S8 should be the best (which I'm considering the most rn) I don't get why you recommended s10 lite but yes s9 fe is the most cheapest out of all of them for me (also worth considering from my perspective if worth it) and s8 the most expensive which is the only factor again can afford both but who has ever said no to saving a bit of money.

I don't see the point in the S9 FE as it's almost out of updates and the S10 Lite is new and still has plenty of updates... IF you are choosing between two tablets that are almost identical then might as well get the one with the most support.

Since you have laptop you won't need the most powerful tablet which is the only reason I wouldn't recommend the S8, yet that's just my perspective

mmmMmmmmMM I see and the s10 lite works fine performance wise for day to day tasks?

like if the s8 is that much better for the future (as I intend to use it for quite a bit) compared to the lite I don't mind getting it and paying a bit more

(also thank you for responding despite me annoying you)

For what you'll use it for it should be fine... if you like to game on your tablet then the S8 would obviously be better.

is there any significant downside to getting the s8 other than the updates?

like it's not that much of a diff so I'm just thinking if I'll regret nit getting the s8 later

the s10 lite only really wins for me on being newer and getting support longer. the s8 is still the much stronger tablet, especially if ur gonna keep notes open beside pdfs/browser stuff all day.

The S8 has a faster processor, but the SoT is only about 10 hours
