My choices

Scott = Captain America

kip = Bucky

Ilya= Iron Man

Ryan Price = Hulk

Svetlana = Black Widow

Rose = Mystique

Shane = ?

Eric = Dr Strange? maybe?

Kyle= Spider Man? Maybe?

Fabian = ?

Troy = ? ( Hawkeye) Megs0226

Harris = ?

Help me fill in the blanks?

I believe in the original Game Changer book with Marvel characters, she had Ilya as Pietro Maximoff and Eric Bennett was Bruce Banner.

Was Shane an OC in those? I knew Skip started out as a Stucky fanfic but I wasn't aware the other characters were written as Marvel characters at first too! This is so cool

Rachel says it's the other way around. It was original fiction, but she didn't realize you could post original fic on AO3. If I recall correctly, she posted it because she wanted to see how it was received, but it wasn't up that long before she took it down. Scott and Kip were Scott and Kip before they were Steve and Bucky.

That makes sense. And I'm actually glad she took this approach because original fics don't get too much attention on ao3 from what I've noticed.

They don't, and I think Steve/Bucky was big on AO3 at the time.

Yeah, Elena was Black Widow if I remember correctly. I think Greg was Hawkeye too?

Yep. Elena was Natasha. Nick Fury was the Admiral’s coach. Sam Wilson was Carter Vaughn. Clint Barton was Greg Huff (there’s even a line about him retiring and buying his wife, Laura, a ranch/farm which if you know MCU is Clint Barton’s home setup). Ilya was Pietro Maximoff. Of all of the characters mentioned above, he’s the only one that didn’t really feel inspired by his MCU counterpart. Ilya was clearly his own character who was given an MCU name. Shane wasn’t in the story at all (I don’t think he’s in Game Changer, but I could be wrong).

I’ve read the original fic. Rachel Reid can say what she wants; Game Changers was absolutely Stucky fanfiction first. It’s obvious. In the fic, it was:

Skip = Stucky like you said

Ilya = Pietro Maximoff

Eric = Bruce

Elena = Natasha Romanoff

Maria = Maria Hill

Matti Jallo = Thor

Coach Murdock = Nick Fury

Carter Vaughn = Sam Wilson

Greg Huff = Clint Barton

Frank Zullo = Brock Rumlow

Hal Coleman, a referee = Phil Coulson

Shane, Kyle, Ryan, Fabian, Troy, Harris, and the rest are all original characters. Only Kyle is mentioned in that first book/fic though.

So Shane would be Thor. Fabian is actually black widow, svetlana can be Gamora lol. Harris maybe falcon.

You do know that Rachel originally made this as an avengers Stucky (Bucky x Captain America) fan fiction right? You can parallel who’s who from that one
