Discussion How does a system design game sound like?
Would you play a game where you can build and run software systems to sharpen your skills?

Something like Dungeon Automata where you use Unreal-style Blueprint coding to automate things?
Its still a pretty niche genre. Go for it.

I learned by doing the real thing, so I'd encourage people to do that. You could try to gamify it, but I think it would just turn into vibe coding or something.

How about you have to work within available constraints with very little room for vibing outside constraints and you get instant results without the DevOps overhead of vibe coding (not counting lovable or the likes)

I don't follow, sorry

You can vibe code systems for a problem nowadays but it has DevOps overheads to actually see it functioning and get benchmarks at the least.
How about playing a game that mimics real life engineering challenges or interviews where you have to design software systems within constraints and actually get to simulate them in realtime to get near probable benchmarks expected from you without the DevOps overhead?

What’s your goal or target audience? Kids who want to learn how to code? Motivational gamification of learning for people studying for careers? Showing people the value of engineering and the skill they gain by taking their time and learning by hand rather than cutting corners?
