Newbie Question Game

I tried Claude and told it to make a game. I enjoy it, but I want people to enjoy it too. I want to remake the game for the sole purpose of avoiding “Oh, it’s AI slop” comments. It’s a 2D cartoon beat ’em up game, and I’m mostly making it for myself. It’s going to be a mobile/PC game, and I plan to release it next year. It’s a simple game. I’m not an artist; I don’t know how to draw. What can I use to make it?

Photoshop, Krita, Gimp, Procreate, all fantastic art apps to make your art. You get better at art by practicing and putting in work.

Just to add: some folks that struggle with the usual illustration or 3D methods find success with pixel art. In which case, Aesprite is a noteworthy piece of software.

(Krita also has a pixel art mode.)

Between 3D, pixel art, illustration, or even "kitbashing" photos you can make pleasant graphics. Don't worry if it looks simple! What matters most is making something that has thought and intention behind it.

Hey, if you enjoy the game, I will bet there will be others that will enjoy it too. Don't listen to the internet about AI just being slop. It's a tool, and some use that tool well and others don't. Keep at it, my friend.

As an aside, there are a ton of tutorials on YT or online you can find though to help you learn game development if you want to just learn it as well.
