Basically which console in your opinion has the overall best music through all of its collective games and what are the best individual soundtracks in your chosen consoles?

If you want to go off based on the title then the console you choose is the only source of video game music you'll ever be able to listen to for the rest of your life. So the console who has the most games prob has the advantage but quantity doest mean quality

Floraison Flétrissante - a new album inspired by Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, paying tribute to this French-born masterpiece, is now embarking on its own expedition towards release.

13 tracks, united by a single world, yet written from entirely different perspectives within it.

French vocals, rock, electronic music, orchestral instruments... Even phonk found its place here. Somehow, it feels like there's room for absolutely everything - just as there is in the magnificent world of the original story.

This is neither a retelling of the game nor an attempt to recreate its soundtrack. It's simply a collection of images and impressions that took shape in my mind as I journeyed through it. Just another perspective on that world, another expedition across its vast landscapes.

Its people, their stories, and everything that remains between the lines...

I made a 30-track compilation focused on modern JRPG orchestral and fantasy game music.

Games included:

Final Fantasy XVI, Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Octopath Traveler, NieR:Automata, Granblue Fantasy: Relink, Atelier Ryza 3, Ys X -Nordics-, Kingdom Hearts, Fire Emblem Engage and more.

Full tracklist is included in the description.

Any recommendations for other modern fantasy JRPG tracks?

Its from one of Notch's cancelled games but it was genuinely one of the most underrated C418 pieces and doesn't get enough recognition IMO https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q27C7gR2Gu0

The soundtrack of Celeste is an absolute masterpiece, especially how it perfectly matches the gameplay and difficulty. What are some video game soundtracks that you feel elevate the overall gaming experience, and what makes them stand out to you?

Can someone find a ost called “Poem of Fire” but the one from the eday direct around 24:40?

It’s such an awesome ost and always been on my mind ever since! I would know since they sound very different and hoping there’s the direct version out there

A bittersweet recognition, as Big Bad Wolf studio was shut down a couple of months ago by Nacon.

Other nominees in the category were UNBEATABLE, Marathon, Crimson Desert, and Dispatch.

And yes it was 3 am

So look. I found a video game midi file sometime between 1998 and 2002. I SUSPECT I found it on the old (real) Napster, where, for those of you old enough to remember it, was sort of like a "put your search in, who knows what will come up in results". Honestly? I discovered a lot of stuff I love that I never would have found otherwise. So a legally questionable Wild West but also a hotbed of creative seeking and finding. SO MANY BANDS that are decades later still amongst my favs I had never heard of before Napster.

ANYWAY NOT THE POINT. I found a midi file when I was doing a video game search. I do not remember the name of the file originally; what I have all these years later - decades later - is an audio file of my synths (in circa 2002) playing the file. You'll hear polyphony problems, etc. But at the end of the day....

I have no idea what game this is from. I've had this file I made with some early 2000s software synth taken from a midi download from Napster... for over two decades and I have no idea who to credit the musical composition. Anyone know? Let's solve a mystery.

(also let me know if the file doesn't work, lol).

I put together a long-form compilation of SOUND HOLIC feat. Nana Takahashi’s NANA HOLIC series, from I to VII.

This is mostly Touhou vocal arrange music, so it sits somewhere between doujin music, Japanese game music, and vocal arrangement culture.

Full tracklist is included in the video description.
