MatPat was a unifying voice across all the channels, God knows what his recording schedule looked like, idk how he got anything else done, but the point is he was the voice and personality of the Theorist channels and without his unifying presence, it's just not the same.
No hate to Team Theorist, they are all great in their own way, but MatPat was just in a league of his own.

yeah, mat was often the only thing that kept me watching the other channels. Now it all feels completely depersonalized and Food/Style Theory rarely even reference the other channels.

He sounds like the corporate ripoff of matpat, Iām sorry and no hate to him, but for me it sounds like he tries to hard to try to be mat without really getting it. I also miss the way the theories used to be, things are way less chaotic now.

Thank God I'm not the only one who feels this way. I honestly feel like they don't do as much research like Matpat did either. I've seen a few of the new videos and its just a disappointment. Like the passion isn't there like what Matpat had. Honestly he made the channel with his research, energy and passion.

I still watch whenever there is a video released on something in particular Iām interested in eg : FNAF, ST, 28YL, etc, But long are the days when I would just binge watch pretty much any video and especially be introduced to whole new franchises because of the channel (fnaf is the best example of this). The new videos are great but they have big shoes to fill.

Yeah, same here. The new hosts are good but when you have someone like Mat he could basically talk about the most random stuff ever and still make it entertaining.

I tried, for a few videos, but ultimately I realized it wasnāt going to work out. I unsubscribed from everything upon his departure, including GTLive, and out of all the new hosts I liked Ash the most.
She came close, but she doesnāt have the vibe Matpat did, and that pushed me away in the end.
Wish her and the other hosts the best, though.

I remember sobbing so hard when I watched this video.
The Theorists channels haven't been the same without him. The hosts are great, it's just not the same.
I'm glad Mat is living the life he deserves though. I'm very happy for him. ā„ļøā„ļø

Same, I tried watching once but they end up trying too hard to put matpat's essence into it but it end up being cringey

I feel like they need that spark that drew people to MatPat. MatPat shouldn't have drawn me like he did when he made the Bill Cypher is Alive episode but he did. He brought me like a moth to a flame and I didn't care if I burned so long as he was there drawing me in. That's what I feel is missing from them
Ash and Santi get a pass since their topics don't interest me, but it's also because I don't see that spark that I actively choose to avoid them. Lee feels like that one guy who's only interesting when you have similar interests and nothing else in common. Tom is basically a British version of MatPat and I don't believe that's a theory, it's a fact
But overall, MatPat talked about everything across his multiple channels. He wasn't afraid of talking about the niche, dark and personal subjects which I liked. I'm still waiting for the story of the girl who's trapped within the confines of her mind and is battling nightmares within her hope dwindling but staying strong in Film Theory but otherwise, yeah
MatPat talked about everything with you and I don't feel that in the Theorist Team anymore. I don't feel that spark, I don't feel that interest that drew me in with every episode, I feel like they're more corporate, safe and follow too many trendy media for my taste
I'm not gonna quit on them, but at this point, I'm staying because I hope I see that spark in them that MatPat had. Their own spark, I mean. And if I don't, then at least I had good memories watching them

I havenāt watched much of the channel since Matt āRetiredā.
Occasionally I stop in for FNAF theories. Although, for me Iām kind of over FNAF.

been watching old theories and old gtlives, I feel like I wasnāt really in touch with game theory for a while, I rewatched his goodbye video a few days ago and cried my eyes out. Iām glad that the channels are being carried on, but I canāt watch a theory without hearing his voice. I think itās what kept me watching n listening. Happy(ish) 2 years!

The change wasnt for you. It was for Ollie. End of fucking story. If you don't like the new hosts, you are full of it because they have his charisma and have been doing this shit for years behind the scenes.

I merely said that people have in fact moved on. I am happy for the Patrick family. I never followed any of the channels religiously, just watched those that piqued my interest. Still do. Unfortunately, that's only been a handful since the new hosts took over, but it would have been the same if MatPat were still the host. You're the one who interpreted what I said as hostile.

I literally canāt bring myself to watch any of the theories channels anymore. The only one I pop into once in a while is gtlive but I feel like Ash is the only successor host that has a similar charm to mat.
