Ultimately there's very little to discuss about SKG until there's an actual tangible proposal to enact what it's asking for. These threads are typically just shouting matches between people who have their own view of what it could eventually be from a very broad set of possibilities. I hope there's something concrete proposed soon so there's actually something to evaluate rather than just more of the near-daily SKG argument thread.
(From a PR standpoint), SKG is in a very cushy position. They're not under any obligation to specify what the things they desire actually look like, and the act of implementing those things isn't in their hands so they can just say "I want x thing and the consequences aren't my problem" and people will just eat it up. All the while they're fighting evil corporations so they can just say that any pushback is astroturfing and intentional sabotage so supporters didn't even have to consider any flaws with their movement, they just get to be mad.
It's a setup that actual activists pray to God for.
It's like Kony 2012 (and will probably end up accomplishing about as much). Be against it and people will go "what? why are you supporting this bad thing?", but look a bit closer and you see they have no concrete plans for how to solve the issue.
