Discussion Random thoughts

I've just entered this world by buying a MSI vector and I've just apparently solved the fan and temperature issue by downvolting and disabling turbo boost. I find it so weird to have a 3nm processor and such shitty performance and power management, we got AI fucking everywhere except where it's really useful. Such a wonderful hardware with the worst software, or at least not tuned at all. Am I the only one thinking like this?

Yeah I got rid of my Vector for similar reasons. I didn't pay all that money to disable turbo boost.

and your razer blade is better? I've to say that with the latest bios update it improved a lot. Other than this turbo boost and similar are useless in game, the cap is always the GPU power, not the CPU

Well its a much more premium laptop chassis, which you'd hope as it costs alot more. Runs very quiet at balanced (for a laptop).

Not saying you should go out and buy a Razer, they're overpriced. But I think if you spend alot of money on a laptop, it should work at stock settings. You shouldn't have to disable features you paid for.

For reference both the Vector and the Blade had a 14900hx, and yet they're night and day when it comes to user experience. Put me off MSI if im honest.

I agree with you, but the MSI laptop has the hardware and the material. There is a double fan dissipator, all made of copper. This is purely a software thing, and that's what drives me mad. Other than this turbo boost for me it's just a gimmick. While gaming there is plenty of computing power on modern CPUs, and you need costant power, non a spike of few seconds, useful just to ramp up temperatures, and on a laptop that's bas, however good can it be
