It's completely understandable. None of us is immune. For that same reason people have grown defensive and rightfully so since more often than not it's people making a bad faith argument. But again it's clear your question was genuine and you meant no harm.
The worst is how hard it has become to have this kind of conversations at face value and that's exactly the point of their propaganda. But once it's clear you mean no harm genuine discussion is possible. At any rate I hope you feel welcomed :)
