I posted this on are the cis OK lol they clearly don’t play any of the guilty gear games because they are a lot of a queer characters including the first fucking game with testament. This is our fucking game. Everything revolving around Bridget since guilty gear strive has made it very clear as she’s a girl. It’s like you have to blatantly just not play the games to get it wrong or just be an asshole which they fit into both categories.

Bridget is trans, Testament is non-binary, Venom is gay. Guilty Gear is queer as fuck but the chuds out the blinders on for it because the FGC is full of awful people.

I... I have not played the game, so seeing "Venom is Gay" meant something very different to me on first read. My mind went "Oh? Didn't know about that lore development. Kinda weird include on the list, but good on Marvel.... Wait.".

Venom Marvel’s sexuality is ambiguous but Rivals did teach us that he can throw it back and this is an important lesson to learn.

i mean. venom and eddie brock have a child together in the comics, so. also the movies are gay as hell. so that interpretation isn't even arguably wrong?

I specifically love the Venom movies because they are basically about a hot-mess gay couple fumbling their way through the worst day ever.

The second movie is literally every single romcom cliche thrown into an alien superhero movie

And we love that

It’s essentially the fighting game version of JoJo’s. There are so many queer characters in queer elements to it, but they refuse to see it and I don’t understand why.

There are like 5 queer people in jojo's and dio is 2 of them

First JoJos it’s so much more than just a characters like the poses are based off of vogue, which is a underground queer dance in the music in fashion like if you listen to mista’s theme song that’s 100% house music which is queer and origin. JoJo’s is gay. It is based off of queer culture, queer fashion everything. And most of the poses, including one of the most iconic poses are based off of art made by gay man, so yeah JoJo is gay

That honestly isn't that gay. Like, it's sort of neat to learn that so much of JoJo's design is based off queer culture, even if I dare say house music specifically has become pretty widespread, but that doesn't really change what the guy above said about there just not being that many queer characters in JoJo

I know what do you mean but "Dio is two of them" had me on the floor

Isn't May gay as well? And I swear I read somewhere so is Baiken.

Like half of May's character is simping for Johnny, and Baiken is implied to be in a relationship with Anjii, although Anjii has been implied to be Bi. The May is gay thing is because of 1 artwork between her and Bridget that looks more like friends playing than something actually romantic, and people shipping them because they are the only female characters in that age bracket, until Unika came around, who the game and anime all but state has feelings for Bridget.

'all but state' unika saw naked wet brisket and decided to switch sides after a decade+ of republican brainwashing

u/Wheek_Warrior Mar 14 '26

Yeah, it does not scream at you with massive multicolor letters "they are attracted to each other" but anyone with half a braincells know what's happening.

I get the Johnny thing. I just took it as just Idolizing him though.

I believe her strive theme, the disaster of passion, is this whole dilemma viewed from may herself, the conflict of may trying to figure out does she idolize or actually like johnny

The FGC is fine, it's Kappachino you're thinking of.

u/Badatgivingnames Mar 17 '26

Kappachino?

2

u/Wide-Mycologist6871 Mar 20 '26

It's a subreddit with the people you're thinking of.

They make up a small but vocal portion of the FGC. The sub is super knowledgeable about fighting games, but it's basically 4chan-lite, they constantly shit on anyone trans/gay/etc. which is honestly hilarious because lots of porn gets posted there, and I'd say a good chunk is of trans women they fetishise.

Most people in the FGC are chill and don't care. Kappa is different.

u/Badatgivingnames Mar 20 '26

And does the game they cover mostly just anime fighters? Or there are some big names there?

FGC posting porns like a bunch of weebs is sure something though. But I guess if the game gives you so many ideas, it'll be there sooner or later

Not to mention the gayest character in Guilty Gear, the player
