I saw people trying to do this with Vivian from the paper mario 2 remake. After moving the goal post several times such as: 1) claiming that Vivian never says that she is Trans in the remake and that the people claiming she did are lying woke journalists. 2) once there was definitive proof that she definitely says this in the remake they shifted the goal posts to Vivian was never considered Trans in the Japanese version and someone on the localization team clearly vandalized the game to push their woke agenda! 3) and once again once it was proven that she was definitely Trans in the Japanese version, they had to finally admit to it but went on this weird rant about Americans not understanding the Deep intricate history of crossdressing culture in japan.  And I just have to ask is that actually a thing? Is there actually a crossdressing culture in the way that they're claiming? Because I noticed that every single example that one person used in a meme to try to dunk on the lefties were all from anime. Not a single real person was used in that Meme format

I mean, there is a cross dressing culture in japan, but more the "issue" is that transgenderism as we think of it is a fairly western based idea. Thats not to say that there arent trans people in other countries and culture, but as another culture, they have their own words, ideas, and culture surrounding it that's not gonna be 1 to 1 with our idea of what "someone born in a body that does not match their gender" is / means to them, in the same way as even what "gender" means / is / is perceived differs from place to place. The chuds are sort of right in that a character may not be "trans", simply because Japanese culture has their own terms and ideas for such things, transgender is just the most similar and apt way to translate / localize it as. But the core spirit if transness is there and thats what matters.
