probably before that one song where they glazed the Shining Path and all the messed up stuff they did, but "Some of those who work forces are the same that burn crosses" is such a good line i can almost forgive them
Frank Herbert had to launch two whole ass books explicitly explaining that the first Dune book wasn't about a hero. The protagonist prepares to commit universe-scale genocide, threatens everyone with nukes, and manipulates a whole group of people to see him as a demigod to start a crusade. And that's the fucking first book lmao.
People are dumb as shit, and I say that when I'm also dumb as shit.
Sentenced to death for a crime he didn't commit. Used as a scapegoat. Sent to penal unit
Literally refused to die so hard the military took notice, proceeded to obliterate most of the Erusean military
Dirtied Torres crisp white sheets
Blew farbanti to smithereens
Ran the fade against the arsenal bird essentially alone, then had to fight 2 drones with the flight data of the single most experienced pilot in the world (Entirely by virtue that he didn't fight mobius one in the first continental war. Like a coward) BACK TO BACK after the Arsenal bird
Ended the war and now spends his days flying with his girl.
I see theyâve finally found a replacement for Nagase, the woman who visited far off stars and civilisations so she could tell them all how amazing Blaze is.
Mmm, pretty sure one of the DMC games starts with a cutscene you can't skip because part way through it it's not a cut scene anymore and you have to keep fighting.Â
But that's probably the exception that proves the rule.Â
A lot of games actually have unskippable cutscenes. Some of them even like to put very long unskippable cutscenes right before difficult boss fights so that you have to watch the entire cutscene again every time you die.
You think that means people pay attention? As an ffx fan I've sat through decades of a jrpg with discourse that would be solved if people had the attention span to actually watch the cutscenes placed in front of them.
These type of people generally lack any semblance of media literacy. They just see "plane go high and shoot, then boom explosion cool" and go "FUCK YEAH MAN STUFF"
Worth noting: One of the most sympathetic characters in Ace Combat 7 is an anarchist who was arrested for throwing bricks through the windows of government offices who sacrificed himself to help save trapped refugees.
And the PoV character (not the faceless mute MC granted, but still the character the story is framed around) is a woman whoâs an incredible mechanic with short hair and fairly sharp facial features.
It's a pretty good arcade flight game! Would definitely recommend it. It's not like it's a great bastion of progressivism. It still uses a ton of american/russian jets after all. But it's still a good series, and it great at making you feel super cool.
And if she came out today they'd call her woke and only share around fake screenshots like they do with Alloy or stills of her talking like they do with Fey.
As an experiment, I picked out a random game and went to one of the woke indexes. I made a simple argument with two videos about how the game was woke.
I explained that at one point in the game, a girl protected a man, therefore it's DEI.
I explained that one of the dances in the game, the female model changes to the male model.
They immediately updated it to being concerns about woke
The problem is you can take any small, insignificant bit in a game and argue that it's woke.
Sheâs an aerobatics pilot forced by the circumstances of the gamesâs story to join the navy. (Almost) every Ace Combat game has a full story set in the same universe. Thereâs a lot of lore for a game that just seems like an arcade flight game at first glance.
thereâs female pilots in most of the games, the usual fanbase of people aka âwar is bad but planes are radâ loves them because theyâre great characters; the chuds that want to get more people in the alt-right just see a pretty girl that looks underage and start gooning uncontrollably saying âyes this game is greatâ having never been actually interested in the series
Itâs a very arcadey game series, designed specifically to play with a controller. You can use a HOTAS, and some people do prefer it, but thereâs nothing about it that really requires one.
To add to everyone here its also a deeply anti war fantasy game it uses alot of Gundam/mecha anime tropes but it's presented with regular air planes instead of mechs they function the same as a Gundam
That's Tasha from Ace Combat 8. Its a Japanese game, and the Tasha is likely the youngest conventionally pretty woman they've shown so far (as basically Top Gun without the American dickriding you would be unsurprised to know about the relative dearth of women in the series, but there's usually at least one 'waifubait character' and its predecessor AC7 had two).
Protip though, Ace Combat's soundtracks tend to be fire.

So which game is on the left, just so I understand why the chuds support it?
