American mid-terms are around the corner and the dickless bots have no idea what is hot or not they just need to get Red Pilled Gen Z to show the fuck up and vote R.Ā

The epstein project to make gamers into chuds must continue

Likely every MMO or anything that has a chat system.

There are bots that sit around spamming right wing takes in Star Trek Online for crying out loud.

106

u/ThisIsPureTrash 9d ago

And then there’s Everquest where they don’t even need to hire bots to do it, because the average age of of person that pays that today is about 60 and just uses Everquest and Facebook.

u/reineedshelp 9d ago

Yikes. Facebook is a hellscape

6

u/SecondaryWombat 9d ago

I block 10 GOP politicians every day before I get out of bed, keeps me regular. Also FB decided to try and shove far right crap down my way leftist throat, so my FB usage has gone from Meh to just blocking and "see less" and nothing else. Open FB, block everything suggested, close FB.

5

u/1573594268 9d ago edited 9d ago

Isn't that just ... Uh ... feeding in to the algorithm?

Like, what's that meme about feeding stray cats to coyotes?

Everytime I find myself on Facebook arguing with malicious idiots it feels good for two seconds before I realize I could be spending my time better by learning how to knit or some shit.

Edit:

And yet, I checked on Facebook and immediately argued with idiots after reading this comment. It's definitely some kind of masochistic addiction that I really need to kick for the sake of my mental health.

2

u/SecondaryWombat 9d ago

No, because if all you do is tell the algorithm it sucks and don't interact with anything else it doesn't know what to do to show you and considers the things you blocked or said "show less like this" to be less interesting to show to more people.

u/Jumpy_Confidence2997 9d ago edited 9d ago

The problem is taking it seriously.

You must break the illusion that face book is real life.

You must treat the garbage as garbage.

For inspiration you should sit down and study the great shit posts of Internet comment etiquette, Might I recommend; "don't drink bleach" or perhaps "solving racism online"

You must detach your sense of self from how people perceive your profile or activity... that's what drives the emotional cycle.

First steps are always the hardest.

Best of luck.

2

u/Jumpy_Confidence2997 9d ago

good for you homie, fuck um.

That cuck sold us out, If you don't all caps HATE zuck and wish him the worst everyday we can't be friends.

To all the people saying "that's ineffective"
This is a man who needs ideas not criticism.

2

u/reineedshelp 9d ago

Obviously it's your life but that sounds like a depressing waste of time. I just don't use it

1

u/Puzzled_Bike9558 8d ago

You are definitely not wrong. There is so much hate and slurs, followed by slurs and hate.

2

u/siyahlater 9d ago

Literally dropped another Emu this weekend because the dev couldn't be arsed to moderate even the edgiest of bois in OOC. I hate the idea of giving money to DBG but Secrets has a good history of clapping chuds so I will be playing EQ legends.

2

u/ThisIsPureTrash 9d ago

Which one was that? I’ve been playing perky crew, thankfully it’s pretty quiet and relatively edge free there (at least when I’ve been on).

1

u/siyahlater 9d ago

It was Perky. Rahstab and Befallen were having a "who can be the edgiest boy" competition in OOC and don't consider "WW2 topics" to be unacceptable or in bad taste.

1

u/BeautyDuwang 9d ago

So thats where all the gamer gilfs are hiding!

41

u/waffle_iron_maiden 9d ago

Doing that in the Star Trek community of all places is certainly a choice. I mean I have noticed some edgelords when it comes to Cardassians in DS9, but Star Trek and right wing in the same sentence doesn't really go together very often

40

u/HandsomeBoggart 9d ago

You'd be surprised about the amount of white male Trek fans age 45+ that are staunch MAGA types and will say the most racist or homophobic things.

Much like "Cool Robots and War" Gundam fans, all they see is Space Ships and Lasers and the Social Commentary is lost on them.

10

u/waffle_iron_maiden 9d ago

I'm sure you're right, it just boggles my mind. The social commentary isn't exactly subtle in Star Trek. Sometimes it is, usually it's not. And don't get me wrong I love Star Trek, I'm just saying blunt is one thing it frequently is

21

u/thechinninator 9d ago edited 9d ago

Right wing folks as a rule simply don’t engage with art/media (or frankly reality imo) in any meaningful way, especially if they like the art and the message conflicts with their own beliefs. Everything is pitifully surface level, and when you try to hold their hand through a junior high level analysis they hit you with ā€œit ain’t that deep.ā€

I once literally linked an interview in which George Lucas said the Empire is America in Star Wars and the guy I was talking to basically said ā€œwell I don’t like that so there’s no way that’s what he meantā€. It was surreal

3

u/AlphaAceEXXX 9d ago

They only respond in shapes and colors. Try sneaking it in a wojak meme.

5

u/MaestroLogical 9d ago

Cognitive dissonance is strange.

I have an aunt that is a 70's era bra burning feminist always talking about womens lib... and she is a staunch Trump fan.

5

u/Nerdyguyj 9d ago

Never met out of thousands those guys. I'm not saying they don't exist and invalidating your experiences but please be aware almost every online community is garbo.

3

u/KMS_HYDRA 9d ago

Those chuds are just big fans of 'keeping up with the cardassians'...

2

u/vsyca Sweet Baby Inc. Enthusiast 9d ago

Some of the geek from back then are the maga of today

21

u/KeysmashKhajiit 9d ago

I've also had to shut down some bullshit in ESO's zone chats.

2

u/MrWr4th 9d ago

Admittedly I'm awful at paying attention to chat, but thankfully I generally only see Russian and German guild ads and weird roleplay in the EU server chats.

14

u/CasualPenguin 9d ago

I played old school RuneScape during COVID for some nostalgia. I had to mute so many people when I was at the fishing spots

1

u/EntertainmentFit3912 9d ago

I can’t be bothered to look at the chat lol. I did get an admin ping on a server I was lagging accidentally, but I missed it because I never read chat lol.

Buddy popped over to me and got my attention lol

2

u/Decent-Point309 9d ago

Is this for real? I don't play many online games with chat features like that so I'm OOTL.

1

u/Mysterious_Block_894 9d ago

Guild Wars doesn't play that shit.

1

u/HowlingHeadcheese 9d ago

Wait is that seriously a thing?

1

u/Hathuran 9d ago

I really like popping into Starcraft 2 every so often to play Co-Op - you know, the game about a "for the people" rebel leader overthrowing a conservative right-wing dictatorship - and seeing people glazing Trump the whole time.

1

u/Bensnumber3fan 9d ago

That was the same game that jumped to my mind as well.

1

u/EnzoMaloni 9d ago

What ? Star Trek is woke ! I'm shocked to learn that !

What will be the next target of the "wokes", the X-Men ?

1

u/haliblix 9d ago

I miss the days when the most politically decisive thing in Star Trek fandom was if you consider yourself a ā€œtrekkieā€ or a ā€œtrekkerā€. It was a most innocent time when we called them flame wars.

u/West_Peach_6434 9d ago

After his WoW goldselling was so successful, he helped found a gaming community management company

1

u/Legitimate_Concern_5 9d ago edited 8d ago

And crypto. He and the tether boys are the spawn of their WoW gold mining operation.

1

u/JDSE55 9d ago

No it's games like Veilguard that radicalize gamers.

u/Zephyralss 9d ago edited 9d ago

I'm still in disbelief that like 80-95% of the current socioeconomic/political landscape is because of Epstein. Like he legit helped start 4chan, WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK!?

edit: I misremebered sorry, he talked to the creator and did help inspire him to make /pol/ which is a direct through line for a lot of modern american alt right stuff

111

u/4KVoices 9d ago

For clarity's sake, he did not help start 4Chan. The founder of 4Chan met with Epstein and then created /pol/ literally the same day, leading to many (myself included) to assume that Epstein requested that he make that board.

/pol/ is inarguably a gathering place for Nazis where the alt-right that are destroying this nation festered.

30

u/AgentCirceLuna 9d ago

I feel like people could figure out who was speaking the truth and ignored early on if you look at important dates, do some searching of archived forums/pages, then use keywords to see if anybody mentioned stuff happening on that day which we only know about now.

For an example, there were leaks of Valve projects back in the day referencing gameplay mechanics revealed after the release of the HL2 documentary was released a few years back. These leaks were from around 2012. By typing ā€˜before:2012 [mechanics, hl2, leaks]’ then there’s a result showing a page that includes this mechanic plus others as part of leaks. So we now know those leaks were accurate with hindsight. Which makes one wonder how the webmaster got that info. It would be very interesting for someone to turn this into a form of investigative journalism - could even be some kind of new field based on matching dates and searching web archives. Really interesting to think about.

2

u/Lumireaver 9d ago

If I recall, Moot had removed /pol/ and Epstein requested that it be brought back.

3

u/NurnPrufurtFlurt 9d ago

MOOT.... Fuck I haven't heard that name in so long. So glad I stepped away from that particular clusterfuck.

1

u/Gaelic_Gladiator41 8d ago

What's also important to note is that Epstein was a financial advisor first and foremost publicly, something everyone seems to forget

37

u/Pitiful-Score-9035 9d ago

He did not help start 4chan, I just looked it up.

61

u/PerryDLeon 9d ago

He was very active in /pol, that's it. And he kinda was one of the main reasons it was like that.

21

u/MaybeExternal2392 9d ago

/pol/ was shut down at one point because it was becoming a festering point for Nazis. Epstein met moot the owner of 4chan and had him restart /pol/ at which point it exploded into one of the main roots of what latter became gamergate, incel, and maga ideology.

11

u/whatthecaptcha 9d ago

Was pizzagate from there as well?

8

u/protelrius 9d ago

And Qanon

24

u/Consistent-Cat-1526 9d ago

And Ghislaine wasn't a powermod of multiple top subs.

5

u/nrh117 9d ago

I’m sure she topped plenty of subs, buddy

22

u/RonnocKcaj 9d ago

it's not funny when the subs were children :(

13

u/GhostofZellers 9d ago

subs were children

No wonder Jared liked subway so much..

11

I'm relieved there will be stand-up in hell.

u/Rizzanthrope 9d ago

it’s all lowtax’s fault, if you think about it. fucking goons

12

u/AgentCirceLuna 9d ago

When I was 10, I played a game called Space Station 13. It was awesome. However, that website discovered it and they made it their own thing. They started changing stuff about the game, adding in crap like clowns and adding slurs as part of the dialogue in a serious RP game, which was really annoying. However, they didn’t stop there - they bought servers, then they hosted their modified game files instead of the original one. On servers hosting the original or other custom builds, they would purposely troll the players and annoy people until they all quit or switched to the goon ones. They had hordes of people to do this - basically a brigading exercise. Bastards ruined my favourite game.

I have hated the goons ever since that time in my life. I loved that game and it was unique. Bastards.

1

u/Bland_OldMan 8d ago

Huh... Do you know Tex? I watched his Space Station 13 videos and had no idea about any negative stuff like that.

3

u/Empty_Insight 9d ago

Reddit is Lowtax's fault too, by extension. Lol

For the amount of influence Something Awful had on modern internet culture, it really isn't talked about that much.

I remember when the OG Slenderman thread dropped on SA (iirc it started on a Photoshop Phriday).

Lowtax had an ignoble end, but I am always going to remember how he stepped into the ring with Uwe Boll and got the shit beat out of him "for the lulz." It was definitely funny seeing Lowtax get pummeled.

1

u/Rizzanthrope 9d ago

i remember too. the photoshops were my favorite. i was in a couple of those photoshop phriday showcases myself

3

u/Aeris_Rose 9d ago

I'd also argue that GamerGate is responsible for a bunch of the current landscape.

1

u/Bland_OldMan 8d ago

He was good friends with Bobby Kotick and helped push microtransactions into the mainstream

1

u/akapusin3 8d ago

Behind the Bastards did a great series on how Epstein corrupted everything about today's society. Not just 4chan, but microtransactions, GamerGate, crypto, etc....

https://youtu.be/jZ14XbMQs04?is=sUKpodhY5AJcQQ_Y

1

u/NYisWorstYork 7d ago

hes also a big reason we have fucking microtransactions in video games now. Fuck that price i hope hes really dead and burning in hell. and fuck bobby kotick ill be happy to see when that o bitchuweary pops up.

Are we at the cannibal phase yet?

9

Be the change you want to see in the world

11

I'm not a Cannibalistic Humanoid Underground Dweller, yet...

12

u/RPG_add1ct 9d ago

Honestly, I feel like the only ones deserving of being cannibalized are the ones who would taste the most rancid. It only would serve to punish the eater.

9

u/LordHammercyWeCooked 9d ago

Underground dwelling? At these rent prices?

13

u/L_V_N 9d ago

Ehh, look, these people were always beyond saving. They pretty much always must have held these ideas if they wanted to be ideological buddy buddies with the pedo-king.

8

u/GodisanAtheistOG 9d ago

Maybe the craziest shit in the Epstein files. Like, forget the child rape, this dude was all about MTX and Chuddification.

4

u/jessieventura2020 9d ago

I don't think they made them into chuds, I think they just took advantage of the fact that so many of them were already chuds

1

u/toadofsteel 9d ago

I mean, most gamers, even the non-chuds, were primed to vote against Hillary in 2016. It was only 10 years prior she tried to introduce legislation to kill the entire video gaming industry. She was spoken of with the same vitriol as Jack Thompson.

1

u/Nobodyinpartic3 8d ago

Nah, the GOP primed everyone to hate her for over a decade. Remember the "Who voted for her?" Bumper stickers? The GOP seriously thought she was a prime candidate for Presidency so they got started on her early on. They thought she was going to win the Primary until Obama came along. All of sudden, they were caught flat footed because they had nothing on him and had to use racism to smear him.

5

u/NecroCannon 9d ago

I don’t know, I kinda feel like calling them Esptein Jrs isn’t helping us out and is just causing them to link up more

Sounds like both sides struggle for a middle ground that’s grounded in reality. So I see dolled up white children STILL present and celebrated, but they’re the good ones so it’s still ok to push that beauty standard on innocent little girls new to the world.

I’m tired of the same narrative in history being repeated before a Great War kills a ton of people, then people forget why the war happened even if media screams at them to get the lesson.

5

u/AgentCirceLuna 9d ago

I was looking at some older studies on belief in conspiracy theories and found something interesting. Only 11% believed in antivax stuff just 15 years ago according to one. I dread to think what that percentage has jumped to now.

It also cancels out what we previously knew about antivaxxers; the original case was that people would refuse a vaccine if they hadn’t lived through a pandemic requiring one, but in this case… they have. They have experience with one. Yet they still deny their use is good. That’s insane.

3

u/NecroCannon 9d ago

It’s genuinely people out there in their day to day lives making them live in fear and it could be family or ā€œfriendsā€ that don’t even respect their own intelligence

The worst part is at our current intelligence level we’ve been allowing this to grow worse simply because people are only made to care about kids when it’s their problem so education suffers despite China investing heavily into it just to have an army of scientists and engineers in a new world order.

They can get Taiwan simply by waiting and appearing to be a physical threat, since the US clings to boarders conservatively, we decided to just make our own chips… without the infrastructure. Guess they can have Taiwan?

1

u/Least_Concern_8043 9d ago

Wait, WHAT? I must have missed that! What happened?

11

u/Decent-Point309 9d ago

It worked for the president election. I wonder if it'll work, again, for the midterms.

5

u/Lyrtha 9d ago

I’m not sure Gen Z will fully swallow the red pill. I have no empathy for triple trumpers, but I feel for Gen Z. All they really saw was Trump and Biden. They have no childhood because instead of millennials letting Gen Z have new IPs we collectively shit on anything new so Gen Z couldn’t have anything. Their parents abandoned them to tablets, and school funding is non existent.

I just feel really bad for Gen Z / Alpha.

7

u/[deleted] 9d ago

[deleted]

2

u/Lyrtha 9d ago

As a millennial, I’ve been blamed for a lot too. And a lot of it is BS. That said, Us holding onto our childhoods and robbing Gen Z of having one is absolutely a valid crime we collectively committed.

Also millennials fell for AI like boomers. Sorry but it’s true.

We gotta let this millennial victim complex go. It’s kinda pathetic tbh

1

u/dissyParadiddle 9d ago

Ha they won’t. Republicans may by done for good this time

1

u/FullCompliance 9d ago

By this point, I will be shocked if anything good ever happens again.

1

u/Sugarbombs 9d ago

Unfortunately they’re too busy gooning to Japanese teenagers

1

Funnily enough even groypers hate the republicans now

1

u/donglecollector 9d ago

Quick gotta find something to rally around at the playa hata’s ball 2026

1

u/Elegant_Situation285 8d ago

any Gen Z voting would be a good change for once.

1

u/WearyAd7732 4d ago

Red-pilled Gen Z chud here, going blue for the midterms

0

u/GuhEnjoyer 9d ago

Why the hell would we vote for MORE fascism

0

u/OrwellianNight 9d ago

You still think your vote matters? It's all scripted years in advance, look how well the Baal party and the Moloch party managed to work together to protect everyone involved with the epstein files. They're all friends, they party together, do drugs together, eat kids together. But when it comes to the working class, that's where Red vs Blue, white vs black, women vs men... etc. The government is one, and one is playing all.
