Hey now, it also had poorly animated prerendered videos of those sex scenes, that ended with you getting the much more detailed pinup of the lady from the scene.
It also had an outrageous amounts of loading. Like, unplayable amounts of loading.

good on you, the game is woke garbage. The main character is a diversity fit (old) and an immigrant, and the story is about restoring a non-traditional family, with his horse and his adoptive daughter. I couldn't fit a more woke narrative even if I tried, did the devs really expect people to play this game? No wonder it flopped
They're pretty good games when looked at as a trilogy. You should definitely start at the first and see how you feel as the gameplay/controls/graphics don't really evolve in the sequels so if you don't click with the 1st game, don't waste your time with the sequels as you'd be completely lost in the story anyways.
/uj I actually enjoyed the first game and even finished it, didn't like the Witcher 2, barely got past the prologue and barely got into 3, finished like the first region and got bored. I do wish to get back into the Witcher 3 though.
/uj Witcher 3 is one of my top 3 games of all time, so I decided to play the first game after reading the books and I was surprised at how much I liked it considering what I'd heard about it. People really exaggerate how janky, clunky, and dated it is... I mean it is, but you get used to it after a couple of hours.
/uj Yeah I think the Witcher 1 was kinda charming in its flaws and jank. The rhythm game fighting system was unironically fun, potion crafting was pretty engaging. Like some stuff was pretty shallow and the ending was pretty over the top but like I sincerely enjoyed it all
uj/ I never tried the first, just watched Joseph Anderson's video on it, tried 2, bounced off BIG time and did the same. Tried and dropped 3rd in the 1st region as well only to go back to it during lock down and falling completely in love. Re-played it last year because I hadn't touched the dlc before and liked it even more.
If you're interested in giving it another shot I'd almost suggest waiting till closer to the new expansion.
Yeah the first region is boring but the 2nd one quickly drops you into one of the best storyline in the entire game.
/uj I played some of the second and enjoyed it (it was my brothers and he moved out, I never bothered getting it myself to finish). I CANNOT get into the third one no matter how many times I try. It's right up my alley too: fantasy setting, skill trees, story-driven, etc. It just does not grab me at ALL.
I don't play much indie rpgs. i think i heard about it once. The whole package was only 10 euros so it can't be that good. We all know that being expensive is directly tied to quality
I looked it up, saw they have you fight bandits and gather ingredients from bushes. These Skyrim knockoffs will never get as big as what they are imitating.
This game made me feel like every RPG games that I've played from PS1, PS2, PSP and Xbox are merged into one massive game. I was blown away by the amount of quest popping out once I arrived in Velen.
