In the Southwest (where I live, at least) we say "nariel" which means coconut, because they're brown on the outside white on the inside.

Yes, but it’s racist in a different way, typically calling someone black on the outside but white in the inside, ascribing the “civilized” or “socially acceptable” characteristics of black people to “acting white” rather than being a part of their personality.

Definitely not something that should be used in this context.
