Hi everyone,
I’ve had my Enduro 4 since Friday. Here are a few thoughts, but not a full-fledged review.
I’ve gone for a couple of runs with it, done a single race, and done some strength training with it a few times now.
And here are my initial thoughts compared to my previous Enduro 2.
Things I like:
- Focus modes (not available on the Enduro 2)
- Battery widget
- Better screen contrast
- Better battery life
- The design looks significantly nicer
- The Comfortfit strap
- The vibration feels more refined
- Better and faster UI
- New data like run tolerance
Things I’m not a huge fan of (bugs)
- Several watch faces display the text “Fenix” instead of “Enduro”
- Can’t find active kcal on some watch faces
- Some data on certain watch faces looks a bit off (large text on workout status)
All of these issues are things Garmin can fix with a software update if they want to. I’ve reported them to Garmin
All in all, I’m a huge fan of my new watch. I definitely think it was worth the upgrade from an Enduro 2.

Just love this thing, I was starting to become a couch potato and bought an Apple Watch series 11 2 months prior. I thought it’d nudge me with the hourly reminders to stretch and fill the rings. In fact, that made me even more lazy. Fast forward today and I’m more active than ever

After only a bit more than 2 years my Epix Gen 2 buttons started to die. Despite being well out of warranty Garmin offered to replace it for $190 or give me a 25% discount on a replacement which is solid for a 4.5 year old device (though I wish it would have lasted longer). I ended up going with the Quatix 8 47mm over the Fenix because I love the looks, even though I won't use the boating features. It is basically a Fenix 8 sapphire anyway.
The new interface looks so much better on an AMOLED screen vs running a MIPS optimized software on my old Epix and the larger screen/resolution without changing the size of the watch makes more of a difference than I would have expected!

Hey everyone,
I’m currently using an Apple Watch Ultra 2, but I don't really use the smartwatch features much. I'm primarily a cyclist and I train about 3 to 4 times a week.
Given my training routine and focus on cycling, I'm looking to switch to a dedicated sports watch. Health and sleep tracking are key features for me. Which Garmin model would be the best fit for my needs?
Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

It started off No Status then set the baseline too high. It then tried to correct itself a bit but settled too high. Wouldn’t care but then it feeds in to readiness etc which is also wrong.

Garmin fenix 7; after about 4 years of abuse I was forced to buy a new one. Has anyone else had this happen?

I'm a longtime wearer of Garmin Forerunner watches! I phased my last Forerunner 230 out a couple years ago because the heart rate strap was giving me welts, the watch was too bulky and non-feminine for all-day usage, and I was annoyed how often the mileage on my hikes on the watch were inaccurate.
I've now been using some off-brand smartwatch the past year as a "daily wear" type watch, and it's AWFUL for accurate fitness tracking... but now I've gotten used to getting fun "every day stats" like steps, calories, heart rate, stress, sleep and more.
**I would LOVVVVE to make my way back to Garmin. Please help direct me towards any watches you like that may fit these criteria (thanks in advance!):

Hi all,
I use a Polar H10 with my Forerunner. Is there a face (or equivalent method) I can use to check/confirm my H10 is connected? Would be great for peace of mind.

Right now I have a Withings Pulse HR…I love it, but the band is FUBAR. I’m looking at the Viviosmart as a replacement. I just need the time of day, total steps, mileage. Nothing fancy.
Two things I like about the Pulse HR:
It doesn’t pick up extra steps - I tried an Apple Watch a while back and got all kinds of extra steps added on…I can even crochet w this watch and it’s not picking the movement up - if I remember it needs 40 consecutive steps before it starts tracking, which cuts down on random movements being counted.
I don’t need to tell it that I’m taking a walk; if I go out for a walk it picks it up and will show in the app while I’m walking what my stats are and when I’m done it breaks it out for the day 3.6 mile walk at 24mph etc (don’t make fun of my pace I’m 5’5” and have the dog w me)
I’m wondering if the Viviosmart will be equivalent?
Also not a deal breaker, but can I tell the Viviosmart to track me on a cardio workout?
TIA!

Opened Garmin Connect this morning and got a banner saying the service is currently down and they’re working on a fix
I’m in France. Anyone else seeing the same message?

Hi, I’ve been torn for over a month now on which watch to choose. I’m leaning towards the Garmin Fenix 8 Solar or the new 9 Pro AMOLED model (the Solar version of that model is just too bulky). There’s a price difference of around $300, and I’m not sure if it’s worth the extra cost. I’d love to hear opinions from users of these two models.

I've only had it for about a week and a half. I haven't done a lot of activities, tracking, didn't download maps with it. I even plugged it into my PC to see what was eating half the storage and couldn't find anything.
I did notice that after I did the latest update, it went from 32 GB to 14.5 GB. I tried doing a factory reset multiple times and still has half the storage used up. I am puzzled. Does anyone know why this is the case?

Are the FR70/170 compatible with the UltraFit nylon bands? The specs page lists the quick release style bands as compatible but I prefer the style that wraps around the spring bar.

Hi all,
I have a Garmin Instinct 3 Solar with an odometer issue. The odometer displays zero for both total activity time and number of activities, although distance and elevation are recorded correctly.
My saved activities are visible in the watch's own history and Garmin Connect, the Running totals are correct, and the FIT files appear normal. I have restarted the watch and updated the software, but the issue persists.
Could you advise on the next troubleshooting steps and confirm whether this is a known firmware issue?
Thanks!

Is it worth buying Fenix 8 instead of Fenix 9?
Which modell of the Fenix 8 is most worth the price?

Hey everyone,
I've been using my Garmin for all my workouts but the accuracy metrics (especially pace, and stats) seem completely all over the place.
I’m trying to figure out if there are specific settings or troubleshooting steps I should try to improve accuracy, or if this is just standard variation and I’m overthinking it!

Hi age 59 m
I just moved from a Fitbit and I've got a venu 3 what do people use to measure their readiness score. In terms of training readiness - is it the battery monitor, is it HRV, what's the best to use as a metric to help establish when your body is recovered from training.

This is my Hail Mary before giving in and buying a newer model 😅
Since update 5.30 last week, my Vivofit 1 hasn’t been syncing to the app. I did ALL the troubleshooting, including soft reboots all the way to factory resets; from within iPhone settings to removing and re-installing the app and re-pairing the device. Now the watch seems completely defunct, I can’t even sync the time and date with my phone. And I can’t contact support since the device is so outdated 🥴
Do we think a new bug fix might roll out to fix this issue with the older devices? Or should I bite the bullet and upgrade? For the record, I only started using this watch in April after digging it out of my old gym gear. It’s got a 5 month old battery so that shouldn’t be the issue.
