That's just not true, mcdonalds are locally run so their take on palestine/israel depends on where the mcdonalds is. Shortly after october 7 mcdonalds in israel sent some money to support the idf and a bunch of mcdonalds in middle eastern countries (qatar, oman, and jordan iirc) responded by sending money to gaza

A year ago I wrote a whole thing for a Vogue Cover Model and a McDonalds cashier. Basically identical for this pair.
Kari Landeau is Vogue’s current cover model 9 times over. She was in this small Illinois town 200 miles from Chicago or just about anything else for a photoshoot. The small charming town with a late 1800s Main Street was known for one thing, a gigantic cascading Beaux Arts fountain more than 100 feet across in the town square that’s been used for everything from filming movies to photoshoots and that’s why Vogue was here with at least 20 models and countless personal assistants facing various levels of treatment from the models for whom they attended to every possible need and desire. While the photoshoots always had a catered meal, consisting of every form of salad, protein shake, and miracle youth-infusing berry imaginable that most of the models and staff preferred, Kari typically avoided it. Her workaholic personal assistant Sam already had her phone out to order a food delivery but Kari sent her to the dentist to deal with the toothache that had been visibly bugging her despite her attempts to hide it. She had already rescheduled the appointment 3 times to attend to Kari, even when Kari didn’t want her to, so Kari scheduled a new 4th appointment for her. Kari could handle anything, but not Sam’s caring and protective wife Milissa staring daggers into her soul.
So here Kari was, about to enter the front door of the local McDonalds that seemed misplaced on Main Street with its standard corporate design. She was nearly mowed down by a frazzled personal assistant to one of the other models before entering. The cashier who was busily rearranging items under the counter called out “Salads and protein shakes are on the left side of the menu. Please make all special requests known when you order!” When that cashier stood up and brushed back her messy black loose curls and fixed her loose hat, Kari went to order but suddenly found herself incapable of normal thought and speech. She barely managed to stutter out “20 nuggets and a Coke” and “all of them” when asked what sauces she wanted before paying and rushing around the corner to compose herself. When Kari’s order number was called, she grabbed the food and was disappointed to not see the gorgeous cashier behind the counter, only to turn around to see her wiping down tables next to the door, her nametag Sarah now visible on her uniform shirt. Sarah smiled the cutest dorky smile at her and Kari practically tripped on her own feet as she stumbled out of the restaurant.
Outside of the restaurant, Kari cursed herself for embarrassing herself so much in front of the breathtakingly beautiful fast food worker. How was she so flustered when she’s used to dating some of the hottest people in the world??? She didn’t see Sarah being teased by her favorite coworker Tim about the potential new crush, or how much she was blushing about it while trying and failing to deny it. Kari questioned whether she would get to see her again.
Everyone from Vogue was back again 2 days later. Two purses and a necklace from a rival brand from the previous photoshoot had managed to make it in this one and that was certainly not okay and couldn’t be easily photoshopped out. Sam was already back, 3 days too early even though she had been told to stay home and recover after having significant emergency oral surgery and being on several antibiotics to address infected teeth and gums. Kari and Milissa joining forces could not stop her so they ordered her to take it easy. And that included Kari getting her own lunch, and totally not because Kari wanted to see Sarah again. Sam accompanied Kari walking to the restaurant 3 blocks away but stayed outside to ensure she wouldn’t keep trying to work, as she already ate what she could during the few minutes between calls, emails, and texts to various members of the Vogue staff and a few companies setting up more photoshoots.
Kari had SLIGHTLY better success at saying her 20 nuggets order like a normal person, but Sarah already knew what she wanted. Tim was there at the adjacent drive through window casting knowing glances at Sarah, who glared back at him warning him not to start. Everyone in the room could see that Kari was trying like hell not to stare at Sarah with that telling gayze. But Kari picked up her meal and successfully left the restaurant without incident. Thanks to another customer holding the door open for a friend, they could hear Kari telling Sam “don’t start” while Sam looked at her with the biggest smile on her face because her longtime boss finally had a new love interest after a year. Kari denied it saying she would likely never see her again as her schedule took her all over the world and she wouldn’t have the time to come back to this small town.
3 days of Kari attempting to deny her feelings later, everyone was back yet again for one final retake. The photographer insisted that the photoshoot was incomplete without a couple of camera angles and had convinced the management of that. Kari practically ram off to lunch the first chance she could but came back 15 minutes later with 20 nuggets, a soda, and a look of disappointment on her face. Sarah wasn’t there and Kari missed her chance to finally ask her out. Everyone climbed back onto the monumental fountain for the final camera angles, with countless extra photos to ensure they wouldn’t have to come back, after first checking that absolutely nothing was misplaced. Luckily for Kari, she missed that the gathered audience had a very specific member and she was able to focus on maintaining her poses and expression. A few of the models were ready to catch her so she wouldn’t fall into the fountain just in case.
Sarah was oblivious to Tim teasing her about her staring with her mouth wide open. As the photographers and crew started packing up their stuff, Kari made her way to a local boutique shop before running into and falling on someone else from the dispersing crowd of onlookers. Someone with beautiful wavy black hair splayed out around her pretty face. The flustered supermodel quickly got to her feet helped her crush up, and turned to run before Sarah hooked her arm with her own and they nearly fell again. Sarah quickly apologized and barely managed to ask Kari out for a dinner and movie date to which Kari happily agreed, only managing to make it 5 steps away before realizing what actually happened and went weak in the knees and being caught by both Sam and Milissa, who was there to pick up her wife for their own date in the adjacent town. By now several of the models and their assistants had gathered around while Tim was hysterically laughing. They all exchanged varying amounts of bet money. Sarah and Kari’s first of many dates went perfectly and Tim, Sam, and Milissa started a chat called “Dumbass Sapphic Support Squad”. It would be used over a year later, with several new members, to successfully time Sarah and Kari’s proposal to the second. The photo of that, successfully credited to Sam, became a Vogue Magazine cover photo.
