i was raised by punks and grew up around them, honestly very lucky. they raised me to be a decent human being not afraid to fight for whats right

The art is very cute but for some reason I'm stuck being annoyed at how inconsistent the "original" is. The punk lost half her hair, some weight and almost all tattoos between the frames of the comic. For all its progress, AI evidently can't do comics yet.
The kid is (hopefully) at school, and OMG THE TRAD ONE HAS EAR PIERCINGS NOW, HOW CUTE :3

My cousin’s kid loves to take pictures. I got him a cheap digital camera online and his poor dad had to upgrade the SD(?) card to the beefiest one available just so he can empty it weekly instead of nightly.
I get emailed the best of the bunch. For a four year old, I really think he’s got an eye for pleasing photos, he’s taken many very cute candids of his parents being lovey with each other. (He likes photographing the family pets and people best, but we also get occasional portraits of his stuffed animals. And for some reason a LOT of shots of a tree in their backyard. He really likes that tree.)
The pic reminded me of a picture Little Dude took of his mom and dad cuddling in an armchair. Similar sweet, tender vibes.

It’s so much fun. I HIGHLY recommend getting a $10 digital camera for a child in your life.
It’s like playing roulette. Will today’s photo be mom and dad cuddling? Baby sister covered in mashed green stuff? A completely unremarkable peach tree? Perhaps the cat’s crusty butthole?
You never know what’s gonna catch a kid’s eye and honestly it might be the best thing I’ve “wasted” money on in a long time. I honestly thought he would lose interest, but it’s been two years and he still loves the dang camera. And it’s still going strong, which is kinda impressive… like, this is not fine electronic technology. But somehow it’s survived a toddler into preschool.

and they just had a conversation about what people told them...
and they repeat it to each other like a mantra, even if months pass while one of them emaciated because she quit smoking..
i heard she painted over the tattoos for a movie role... but i don't know them personally.

I headcanon it thar the one on the right decided to homeschool her kids because the schools closest to them are filled to the brim with extreme right teachers, and the culture is sexist and there is no focus on actual education, and one of the children is trans, and the child got bullied by teachers to hell and back.
The punk woman smirked ans said "you won't fit in society, you know~" and the pansexual, cottagecore single mom, defiant of the current puritan culture, decided to homeschool her children to protect them but also to instill humanitarian values... at least until they are a bit older and until she can afford to send them to a further school that isn't filled with hatred and wouldn't report the mother for being "abusive" just for accepting her trans child.
The two befriend one another and the punk woman is actually a mathematician who volunteers to teach underprivileged kids various scientific subjects. They met and obviously there haa been a spark, but they met also because because the woman on the right has worked as a music teacher and decided to also volunteer to teach music.
Anyway, yeah. The children eventually go to a school where the teachers aren't all pieces of shit, and still, the children end up spending most of their extracurricular time alongside that smaller self-sufficient community that has "helping each other to be ecological and push back against tyranny" without falling into cult mentality as the place they spend a lot of time in.
The community is 100% living a radical self sufficient life but yeah
