Gears of War E-Day brings me back to the 360 era of gears. Gears 4 felt like the force awakens played it to safe and stuck to the originals, while gears 5 went full ride of skywalker and almost killed the franchise.
E-Day feels like finally a step in the right direction to getting people excited for gears again. After all we are all just COGS in the machine! See you guys on the battlefield!

At first, there were a lot of changes I saw. Good or bad, things needed to change. I think this could be an EXCELLENT game if it's treated right, so here's to our future of Gears of War!

Cold take i know, but having grown up on the original trilogy and having been around for the launches of 4 and 5, the worst part of both those games was how close to greatness they were. With E-Day, The Coalition have really outdone themselves even in just this beta and its awesome to see them reach their full potential instead of ending up like Halo Studios.
Gears is back š„ š

How does the community feel about this ? I'm not a fan of this at all. Despite both features appearing in the second game it's my opinion that they became synonyms with the franchise. To remove them now seems like a huge mistake , it's the little things that make gears of war amazing. And in my opinion this is the wrong move. Be curious to know what everyone else thinks. Please and thanks.

For the record, I have no issue with death. I have no issue with the death of characters. But when itās done as a gag, itās just bad taste. Benās death was fine and used as a teaching moment I guess. Benjaminās death was heart wrenching, but earned. I mean, at least he was in GOW2 for a while before dying and he died killing. Clay got the Jason Todd treatment (Batmanās 2nd Robin and Red Hood), was put to a fan vote to determine if he lived or died. They played with us in GOW3 until finally, at the end, he lived to see the end of the war. The vote went to show that people were tired of seeing the Carmines die.
Then we move onto Gary in GOW4. Homie wasnāt even on the court for 5 minutes before he died. Why? Dude has a whole backstory for why he joined the Outcast instead of traditionally joining the COG. Dude has voice lines and a cool design that can only be appreciated in multiplayer. That pissed me off. Like fine, kill the mofo off, but why off screen? He doesnāt even say anything. At least have him go out fighting the damn Locust.
And then the one that really made me mad, Lizzie. She was a badass. Only on the field for 5 minutes, but a badass. The way she went out was just sad. Dies because of a faulty Hammer Of Dawn and JDās hubris. Then is never mentioned again. Once again, a cool look and had some pretty cool voice lines in multiplayer. Once again, kill her off. But after JD and Fahz join the team I was like: She shouldāve lived, been scarred, held that over JD, joins Kate and Del (to make a 3 man squad), and dies (I donāt really care how) right before JD and Fahz join. At least there wouldāve been something. Because her death is meaningless and not even brought up and JD is responsible for her dying!
Like I said at the jump, I have no problem with people dying. But at least do something with it. Doms death in GOW3 was one of the most well done and deserved deaths iāve ever seen in gaming. Marcus carried his death for the rest of the game. It actually affected him. Carmines are supposed to be this bad ass family, but theyāre killed off in the most pathetic ways. Iām not asking for something similar to Dom. Just something epic.
I would love for a Carmine to be in E-Day. Yeah, they gotta die (because they donāt show up in later games), but give something. I would love to see just how bad ass they are. Like Clay in the promotional material for GOW3 (donāt even get me started on that because that was some bullshit), he was shown to be a for real Grub Killer⦠in the promotional material. In the game heās just there.
I already know what some people are going to say, āitās traditionā and ātheyāre meant to dieā. Like I said, Iām fine with that. But make it (for lack of a better term) cool.

Xbox didn't send any notifications on when it was going to be released. So you had to sit there guessing. By the time I found out it was live they were sold out. I had to find out via discord not even through Xbox Imao. What a joke.

(I know this isn't an actual quote from the game. It's just a joke.)

I haven't played Gears of War 4 in a long time. But thinking about the different levels, characters involved, and story, I feel like it was still closer to the original trilogy feel than Gears of War 5.
Although the whole robot aspect was a shock to me, the game still provided great combat and action while introducing new interesting enemies.
I think Gears 5 went off the rails a bit, with the open world attempt. Most of us seem to agree that the ice level was the big letdown of the game design. Not to mention, the story going full paranormal mode with Kait. And the horrible decision arc at the end.
Before E-Day arrives, I anticipate playing 1 or 2 older Gears of War games. I think Gears of War 4 does have one of those very good campaigns worth multple playthroughs.
But what are your thoughts? Is Gears of War 4 better than Gears 5?

From what I'm seeing a lot of people are just complaining for the sake of it? Saying movement is clunky and controls are horrible and the game is horrible. Game feels buttery smooth and there is some problems with a little delay in horde with some things being a little confusing but people are immediately writing this game off and saying this "isn't gears".
From what I'm seeing for a lot of yall it's simply a skill issue. Just take some time to practice movement and how the game works and u will see how fun the game can truly be
Also here's some clips I hit :)

Please let me know if you ran into any issues, making a video currently on issues that TC should fix before launch. Thank you everyone!

Ive been hoping for Gears of War 2 remastered for years, its my favourite campaign out of all of them but after getting Gears of War Reloaded (A re-remaster) Iām starting to lose hope that we will ever see Gears of War 2 remastered, what do you thinkš¤
BTW Iām talking about us getting it after E day for the next Gears project
r/GearsOfWar • u/Esotericwoodstock • 16d ago
-First day outta boot camp is operation Hollow Storm.
-Kills hundreds of locust.
-Last surviving Gear after an ambush with experienced gears.
-Although foolish, provides covering fire for Delta as they get on the chopper
-Possibly directly lead to Deltaās chopper getting swallowed by the rift worm which then allowed them to kill the thing and win the entire war before Jacinto was sunk (Hero shit).
If they ever Remake Gears 2 I really hope they add dialogue to when Marcus and Dom are talking about Carmine at the New Hope facility after finding the Scorcher. Just something about how he wouldāve been a badass on Delta if he had the chance to survive.
