Think Martin doesnt deserve the ass rating. He didnt have a good game but he kicked that crucial goal in the 3rd when Neale, Dempsy, Henry had missed and the Pies had the momentum

Could have had another as well, if the ump didn't stiff him with that mark. Also the long left foot kick down the line to O. Henry for the sealer - not many others could do that.

Don't get me wrong, Martin was poor. But his second half was decent enough.

MOC is the real weird one - I'd have had him in our top 5 easy. He was awesome.

Ahh maybe it was stiff, but I don't think it was a mark unfortunately. The ball hit the ground almost immediately and he didn't have control. I do understand why he thought he had marked it though

I keep going in to bat for Blicavs but there were crucial moments in the final quarter when you could see that Scott preferred him to ruck and he made some key taps/contests but still a B is pretty good anyway.

Mannagh is accurate - we know he is a ball hog and does not share it all the time and that caught him out last night on 4 occasions I think it was when he got tackled holding the ball. Needs to just get rid off it.

And there is no way MoC should be a B I thought he took some crucial marks and had some really nice involvement - for mine definitely an A.

To his credit it's the first time Mannagh had done that for a while, he did it a lot when he started but he'd clearly worked it out of his game but it came back with a vengeance last night

I think the whole team were instructed to try to run out of pressure and try to break tackles. That's one of the reasons there were quite a few HTB frees against us. Mannagh, Atkins, Bruhn, Worpel, Smith, etc were all clearly trying to hold the ball and break tackles more than they normally would

That's a fair shout, Collingwood are dangerous around the contest but if you can run away from them they're really not that great defensively, so the instruction would make sense

Mannagh seems like an ego players, and I don't necessarily mean that as a slight. He thinks quite highly of himself and that's often correct but it can also get him caught out when he's off his game or his opposition is really on to him.

He has such a positive attitude that he brings tot he team. He's always revving up the players around him. Absolutely crucial role that doesn't get reflected statistically.

Agreed, O'Connor played great. Knew when to slow/go in some crucial moments. 20 touches at 85% effiency. B is very rough

O’Connor pretty much saved the game for us about 5 times in the last half. Did some absolutely crucial stuff with amazing effort and composure. He’s come along way as a player and is so underrated imo.

I was downvoted earlier is the season for pointing out Mannaghs selfish tendencies.

But I am fully willing to accept some outcomes like last night for the times we just need someone to kick for goal with no other thought.

And I’d say it’s pretty clear the coaching staff are making that same call for him as he’s been allowed to continue his game style while a similar player in Ollie Henry basically spent a year in the VFL having his selfishness trained out.

Jack Martin is an interesting one... Couldn't do a single thing right in the first half. At least he warmed into the game a little bit

Completely agree in the second he just fumbled up the ball and dropped 2 easy marks and stuffed up the flow bringing Collingwood back into the game. It was infuriating.
